Best video we have ever made on the area. We had so much fun out in Virginia City and the surrounding hills. As you all know we love going there all the time and have seen so much History and heard so many stories. If you have a story about the Virgini City area, we would love to hear it and don't forget to smash that like button....smash it HARD !
I agree professor great job.leila best camera work, brave lady, hard work, but what a wonderful team effort. I appreciate all you both do P.S. SORRY I BROKE THE LIKE BUTTON SMASHED IT TO HARD
Hello Jeff it looks like one of the best videos you've done in that area love the train ride love that locomotive feeling chugging down the rail would have been nice to see the bucket of blood Saloon in the old Cemetery there in town keep up the great work can't wait for the next video.
@@Patrick-yh5ydnot all im sure alot went bust but alot also hit it rich big time watch some off the vids u see what they throw away as it was worthless to them
Years ago, I started digging into the methods used to smelt iron before the Civil War. I found a whole bunch of people and artists that didn't know what they were talking about. Then I found a picture showing the old blast furnace with a wooden building built on top where they would feed the furnace below. The fuel was charcoal and the mix was limestone, clay, and iron ore. Each would be placed in the furnace in layers. There was a water mill/bellows attached to one side to push air in. So much was lost when people moved to modern tech and forgot to document the old methods. I feel sorry for anyone that wants to move back to old technology!
I have looked at the historical reports on mining. Seems like every 48 feet of a shaft caused some poor miner his life. Most reports say usually from rock fall. Brave men who definitely helped build this great country to what it is today. Awesome video Jeff!
Wow, top notch all the way! Love the history and often makes me think of my Grandpa. A WWI Veteran that did demolition for the Army. He continued that trade craft his entire life in the mines of TN. A quiet man of few words but wise and jolly. Wish I could have known him more. He lived to be 91 so all that is left is memories of history.
Eureka Yeee Haaa.. This video presentation is definitely worth watching and being on television 📺 Jeff and Lila. Your drone footage has taken your videos to the next level.. So much editing time spent on producing a video that needs all the accolades it deserves.. I hope all your Subscribers appreciate the huge effort that you and Lila have put into making this video.. Glad you are recovering from your Appendix surgery.. Cheers Tony.Famo59..🍻👍⛏️
Looks like your healing good, Jeff. Don't overdue it. I purchased a 40 acre claim in Plumas County in early March and then contracted frozen shoulder on both sides in late March. Had to retire...couldn't work. Three months later with alot of painful home therapy I'm about 70%. I'll be heading to the claim in 3 weeks. I won't be 100%, but I'll be good enough to get some shiny in the sluice! Thanks for all the inspiration!
Jeff you are quirky, charismatic and intelligent, you are what’s left of the old school miners! But, your not old! Keep doing what your doing, love watching!
Today is a good day! My two favorite prospecting channels released videos today! MBMMLLC and Jeff Williams!! I can’t wait for you and Jason to do another video soon! Praying for a smooth and speedy recovery Jeff!
Jeff another fantastic history lesson beautiful scenery the amazing things that happened in our country and not very many people don't know about. I hope your feeling better but not doing jumping jacks yet, thanks again
Thanks for the tip on Gold Hill Hotel! I'm trying to explore for gold AND ghosts! Speaking of ghosts. @38:27 when you dropped the rock... is there a faint scream?!?!? Thanks again for the great content Jeff!
I have recorded quite a few hard rock mines and mill sites in California, mainly on the west slope, I never saw the intense use of quarried stone masonry for the mill sites and head frames you show. Thanks for that. The cover built by BLM probably achieves two key goals. One is that it preserves the shaft, which is historically important. The other is that it preserves the shaft as a roosting area for bats, which are considered important biologically.
You are a real American piece of work Mr. Jeff! A man after my own red-blooded western, freedom loving self. Love your work, adventures, mining, and historical videos. God bless you and your family. Hope you are on a fast track mend!!
Awesome video Jeff. I loved everything you showed. Wow those shafts are deep. It was interesting learning and watching. I hope you are doing good after your operation. Stay safe and healthy buddy .
I really enjoyed this video and others about the Comstock Lode. What I enjoyed most was watching how you and Lila interact with each other. I noticed how you make sure she is comfortable and yet she seems to be right there backing you in your endeavors. You make a great team! Glad to hear you are doing better.
Thanks for the history of this area and explaining what everything does out there one of your best videos, keep them coming. I hope you are healing up and feeling better.
Amazing video, Jeff !! Love the scenes around Gold Canyon and them drone shots too ! Very sad about the Yellow Jacket tragedy. Just shows how dangerous mining can be. Yep, there's still plenty gold up there. BTW, did you stop by to visit Chris Ralph ? Thanks for the adventure ! Hope you're getting better....
thanks my Brother , I hear you ....very tragic about that and so many stories and rumors about it too.... no we didn't have time ..was trying to get ahold of Comstock Mining to get into the Harris Portal ...it connects to the older workings... thanks
Geewhiz, Jeff, you sure do make some fantastic videos. Sometimes I watch them over and over again. And, they even have a groovy soundtrack! I love the old steam locomotive from this one. Interesting stuff to look at, learning about the mines and mining and of course, a history lesson about that tragic mining disaster. All presented in your own inimitable style, of course!
Jeff you have always been great but your taking it to a new level and it’s not unnoticed! I’m positive it’s a lot of hard work and time. Thanks. If you ever want to go treasure hunt on some of extremely good cache leads let me know :). Would be an honor and I have spent two years putting together the absolute best cache leads sourced from old newspapers with stories 100% lost to history. The gold rush town in show DEADWOOD is a Hollywood western film set town called Melody Ranch that was started by the cowboy actor singer Gene Autrey. Why is nobody continuing to work these mines? WOW!!!!!!!!!! This was Just Tremendous!!!! I think this could win an award, you could beat out famous documentary filmmakers. Your enthusiasm (and humor of course!) is infectious, like the biker guy said, you get people interested in things they otherwise would not know about or be interested in. From the subject knowledge and excellent narration to the drone footage to the soundtrack, it's just fantastic and you should be so proud. BTW all my pets know "Come on...lez goooo" means time to be fed! :-) Thanks again
I heard that screaming also as the rock went down, but Jeff didn't react to it, so I felt ehhh maybe I'm just hearing things. Time to send in the Ghost Adventures crew!

God bless the unfortunate miners that perished in the horrific fires. The heroes that put their lives on the line represent true heroes.

G'Day Jeff, WOW I just finished watching all of your video. Super awesome coverage of the history of old Gold mines, this is by far your best work👍 Take a bow, sonny Jim. I'm recommending your video for an Oscar nomination. Thanks for sharing, Cheers Kev.
Glad you enjoyed it Kev

Good drone skills there bud!
Thanks 👍
Funny you look for the yellow gold and I look for the black gold in west Texas. Can't say this enough I love this channel.
thanks
WOW!!!!!!!!!! This was Just Tremendous!!!! I think this could win an award, you could beat out famous documentary filmmakers. Your enthusiasm (and humor of course!) is infectious, like the biker guy said, you get people interested in things they otherwise would not know about or be interested in. From the subject knowledge and excellent narration to the drone footage to the soundtrack, it's just fantastic and you should be so proud. BTW all my pets know "Come on...lez goooo" means time to be fed! :-) Thanks again
thanks , really appreciate that hahhahaha I know...right
This is my backyard, i live in reno and have family all over carson and dayton. Really interesting
I heard that screaming also as the rock went down, but Jeff didn't react to it, so I felt ehhh maybe I'm just hearing things. Time to send in the Ghost Adventures crew!
I heard screaming too, and then I saw the paramedic.
Ah, Virginia City. I was wondering when you would get around talking about the Yellow Jacket mine. Well done my friend, well done. ❤
