I've seen you digging this material out before, it's spectacularly beautiful, when it's cut into slabs it looks just like a beach surf scene, it's truly amazing how this evolved to become something so beautiful.
Hey Dan, That was an unexpectedly long video ! But it was full of good content. I am very glad for you that Dana will join you on site. I hope she enjoys being out with you as much as I for one enjoy seeing you two working together. As for the material you removed from the site. Some of it is simply unbelievable. I have a wild imagination which I so often enjoy. But some of that ocean picture stone needs no imagining. It just looks like a photograph. Thank you for bringing this content to us. Take Care
Just to explain, the only reason it's so long, is because its compilation of several individual videos. All of them that he filmed in the whole year 2023 (explained in the videos title)
I loved the long video! Thank You. And thank you for sharing all your knowledge and adventures with us. I love not only the rocks but the beautiful country side ❤ You are a lucky man. Much Love for you and your Family 💞
Dan, I know you love Dana Blue, but I really like the blue at 44:55. You should rename this color River Picture Stone. The host rock embedded in the quartz looks like boulders in a river.😄😄😄
@Danhurd I ordered BC Ocean Picture Stone I am so pleased with my pieces. All the work Dan and Dayna put in I am so amazed. Dayna packages up everything up nicely. I encourage people to check out his shop!! I can’t wait to see what treasures Dan and Dayna come up with.
@Dan Hurd, you're whole family is beautiful Sir! I have been following you for a couple years on and off. Im disabled and can't get out so I get to enjoy you and Jason, and crazy Canadian, then there's that crazy Arizona Miner I enjoy watching you folks, I used to play around now I just buy paydirt 😊
27:26 that would look awesome in a backsplash in a kitchen , cut stone slabs into tiles, then a strip of ocean blue stone it would be an expensive tile. But beautiful!! Have an awesome day 🤠
At 1:11:30, the wire trees are beautiful.. Being an electrician myself, I've been making them for years with cable rems.. Like the addition of chips for leaves and such..
Get a motorized concrete saw. You can cut a line 9" deep and use a wedge to break it off the rest of the way leaving cleaner cuts and basically blocks. Also would be easier to cut off host material. Amazon has a wet and dry 16" gas powered saw for 300
@@clonejones7955 He'd have to go through the municipality but if they have no interest in the mineral or the land then they'll allow a person to mine it. You can't release methane gas from your posterior in Canada without the gov getting a tax fee from it.
Hello Dan my name is Maria, this is amazing adventures I m learning a lot from you videos I want to start to treasure hunting! How did you find all these beautiful stones! I will love to go in adventure with you and your beautiful family at least one day! Can you send me a beg with the blue pieces?

I've been following u for years wish I could be a patron but have no clue how to. not good with technology.. keep the videos coming I've watched um all an still am you an your family are great.
Tucson Tony here, welcome back to Tucson or Chukshun as we natives will tell you. Where you at this time here at Tucsons Gem show . Definitely want a piece of Dana Blue...
I'm slowly working the 1lb piece that I got from you a few years ago. Have too many pots on the fire and need to get back to these beauties. Still need some Dana blue.
Hey Dan why not use like the Sierra blaster to remove some of that old overburden above the picture stone it does I've heard they're pretty good and are pretty easy to use and that they can move some pretty good overburden
Being from kansas i just cant imagine this. How depressing. I build saws and live near KU maybe I need to befriend a geologist and trade for tag alongs.
Wanted to fast forward a bit...Am so happy i didnt...it was pure joy seeing Dan chisel out those rocks piece by piece out of the hill side.. Those ocean turquoise blue rocks❤❤❤❤ Great job
It is amazing how a tool that is thousands of years old is still being used. I guess when a tool is as good as the feathering wedge it is hard to improve on it.
Oh man.. ..What a fun summer/season at the OPS/Midway mine deposit !!! So eager for the winter to end so we can get back at er...Thx for many many fun days, hard work and Adventures Dan ...many many more in the future :)
You should call it roody blues tell me who you’re talking to…..after that song 🎶…you’re a good guy Dan your family should be happy to get to go out and see the beautiful world and learn different rocks
I want to cut some 13x9mm cabs for earrings. The slabs seem extremely thick for an earring blank. Would chips be better for what I'm looking for. Size is tough in pictures.
Oh Dan! I forgot how many episodes were of your OPS! Looking back at the quarry in 2023 was a fantastic idea! Some of those pieces have me thinking about ways to mount them with backlighting. Even the smallest chip pieces could be combined to make clocks, countertops, and other decor. The possibilities are endless! I don't know why I didn't think of it before now. Guess my brain is taking a winter break from all the storms and bitter temperatures! Last but not least, Dayna is beautiful, along with you, your dad, Evan, and everyone else you affiliate with; this beauty is from the heart as well. Thanks for sharing and giving us GLOTDS! Sending warmth and blessings from Alabama ❤️
Have a contest for your customers who have madeitems out of Ocean PStn and have viewers vote on the most attractive pieces. The winners prize is a big piece of whatever stones you have available. Or a piece of OPS. I’d love to see what people have done with it. It’s so beautiful. You narrow it down to 20 or something.
Hey Dan my oldest grandson loves to collect rocks he’s been doing it since he was three years old he’s now thirteen I can’t afford the real nice ones so how much would one like 3 inches or so wide cost 🤷♂
Speaking as a dentist who pulls lots of teeth and fractured roots, there is something very satisfying in watch Dan bust up and 'extract' his quarry. Did Dan ever get his Mjollnir for those bigger feather-n-wedges?
The pieces are so beautiful,I wish I could afford some, especially a tree. All I can do is watch and drool over them. So awesome!
I never knew stones could be so beautiful. Amazing!
I've seen you digging this material out before, it's spectacularly beautiful, when it's cut into slabs it looks just like a beach surf scene, it's truly amazing how this evolved to become something so beautiful.

Good job to your team Dan. Enjoy watching your videos and hope everything is going great ! All the love from celeste and I and the kiddos
beautiful
Loading up all that picture stone, where is your wheel barrel or hand kart maybe?
I like the panoramas where i see the town I live just 10 miles from.
I want to see Dan go up there with a backhoe and a water cannon. He could reveal a few tons all at once by washing away the hillside
there is stuff in the works for the first thing you mentioned ;)
To much will force him to drop the price...i doubt he wants that

Amazing pieces
be careful with any silica dust, Dan! anyway good work! that vein is an awesome find!
The feather chisels sound like string instruments when they’re hit it sounds like you’re playing a violin whenever you hit the feather chisel
Thank you sir 👍🎉❤
Some really nice pieces! Id love to see an epoxy table or something made from some of them!
I ordered some from you and it’s in the mail.
Ancient
Looks Iceberg Blue great find
Amazing very good
Have you considered using a portable diamond saw to add cuts to direct your extraction with feather wedges? These saws often used on concrete.

I’m not vending. But stay tuned to my Facebook. Will have a meet and greet party Thursday night. I will have some stone there
Found my favorite pendant. Sent hubby a link... not so subtly begged him 😂😂😂 I never ask for jewelry 😂😂😂
Kinda looks like opal without the spectrum colors.imagine if that was an opal seam wow that would be worth some serious money.
I'm slowly working the 1lb piece that I got from you a few years ago. Have too many pots on the fire and need to get back to these beauties. Still need some Dana blue.
Let's go she's representing Edmonton oilers who are 16 consecutive games won in a row.
Almost a Sleeping Beauty Turquoise blue....😘
DAN thanks for the vids! fyi driving a feather between 2 wedges would do nothing but drive a wedge between 2 feathers and you can split rock.

Those spheres are so cool! They look like little water world planets! Lol
I am headed to Tucson. Where is your friend selling the rough? Do you have a booth….if so, where are you at?

Epic, long and entertaining video.
How does ocean picture stone form ? And what is the composition of the three coloured bands ?
Oooops!! If I'd waited a few more minutes, I'd have gotten the answer to my question 😂😂😂😂

Dan, Spray feather/wedges orange or white. I have found this to help.
I wish I could afford to get my sister a piece that has the brown on bottom, blue in middle and white on top where it really looks like the ocean.
Pauly is a true gemstone =D
What kinds of stone make up the brown, white and blue portions?
Those are some.....picture....perfect.... rocks....hahahahahaha!!! Ok. I'll see myself out.
