Hiya, Welcome to this great hobby. Any tips you need will probably be in my back catalogue on my channel. There's loads of videos on there that should have all the answers to.your questions.. Enjoy..😉👍
Hay Andy have you thought about moving your filter system into the garage ,you could take the opportunity to make a new system then just swop over the pipework, when the new one is complete, plus you can do all your messing about I'm the warn
Hiya, now that is a subject I've looked into a few times, the inside of my garage at the moment would need too may big changes to make it fit. But, never say never..😉👍
clever bit of kit I suppose..but its not cheap. Not sure I could justify spending that sort of money on something that I wouldn't be using all the time. I dont have a garage or an outbuilding so not even sure where it would go. Your identical twin looked a bit cold stuck out there. ❄☃Can you download any logs and see how things change over a week/month/6months ? I'm happy using my water test kits...got a Q for you ..what does YEST mean ?? 😃( top line in the video description )
My pond is 22mt from the house so one of these would possible not work though you may be able to use a signal booster with it. Another point would be triple glazing it would not pass through that the major problem would possible be 2.4ghz some wireless items like cookers washers and broadband and smart meters work at 2.4ghz and if these units are also 2.4ghz you could get interferance.
Thanks for a really useful review. I tried a water quality testing "pen" to begin with and I just wanted to measure PH, temperature and ORP (these are really the only figures I'm interested in) . Sadly, the instructions were too small to read and badly translated and calibration proved difficult as well. I then went with an LCD monitor with three separate probes which was a breeze to set up and calibrate. I've placed the monitor in a position where I can read the display without lifting the lid off the filter bay but it still means enduring the weather to check. I visited the Kactoily site and saw they did a 7-in-1 wireless monitor as well including ORP but sadly they wouldn’t accept a Jersey post code. So I checked on a well known Asian market place site and found a 7-in-1 monitor that worked with an app on the phone. It's probably BLE as well so will have the same distance restrictions but I should be able to check from my shed. It would be great to have something that worked on WiFi and could send alerts if there are unexpected parameter changes. I'm sure this won't be far away.
Hiya, the unit seems to be doing a great job with my pond. When I first spoke to Kactoily, they advised the unit going into the pond. The only reason I placed it in the filter system was because it wouldn't reach across the coping, and I couldn't keep the reader dry.. 🤔🤔😉👍
Hiya, Glad your enjoying the channel. I wish I could see more of the fish as well. They spend more time on the bottom at the moment now the water temp has gone down...😒😉
Great review Andy, second review I have seen on this bit of kit which looks to be both easy to install and use ( providing you can fit in within your Wi-Fi parameters). Really important to keep your monitors moist, I expect you have loads out there 😉🤣
Oh Andy, informative, entertaining and funny as hell like always Love your humour Those units look really good. Be interested to hear your feedback in the weeks to come. Keep em coming lad 👍🏻
Hi Andy after watching your video on kacktoily 6 in 1 tester my wife decided to buy me one without me knowing just opened it for Christmas and nothing works. Relating this back to the company myself they have told me it’s out of the 30 day warranty. Did you have contact with them that I can speak with please if so could you please let me know regards Chris purnell
Hiya, I've emailed them in the past with any issues through their website. Fill in the return or exchange form and leave your full name.. Hope they can sort you out..
Hi mate I had the same issue with the distance and showing the ! But I still had the wired version running and noticed a difference in readings until I moved it closer.
Hiya, mine has settled down now but it took a couple of days.. the ! Still comes on now and again but as soon as it goes off the screen flickers and updates... Did your results change when you moved it closer? 🤔😉👍
@KoiPondLifestyle hi mate I placed them together, and the readings were virtually identical. I then moved the screen appropriately 5-6 meters away into my house, and I occasionally had the ! But the readings started to vary. I them moved it back next to the wired monitor, and the readings reverted back. Since then, the readings have been virtually identical again.
@KoiPondLifestyle I haven't spoken to them yet, but to be fair to kactoily, I did test beyond their recommend distance, I'm testing closer and will put the results in fri vid
Does this connect to an app on phone too, ? I have the seneye that reads amonia, temp, oxygen,ph , light levels and is also able to link to my phone so I can see all wherever I am it’s a really good bit of kit
Hiya, I have asked Kactoily, who are always looking at improving their product and seem very good at looking into our feedback from these videos to continue to improve their water monitors.. They tell me it s something they are looking at for the future.. 😉👍
I'm guessing the unit is Bluetooth. It may have a problem with the placement as the signal has to get through a lot more brick going diagonally through the wall. If the sender is a little further away towards the vortex, the signal is passing through a thinner obstruction.
Hi Andy just watched your video on the kactoily wireless monitor I have bought one but I followed your video I done everything in your video but mine is all saying 00 on everything am I doing anything wrong thanks Anthony
Hiya, a couple of things I can think of are, try changing the plug on the black box end to a phone charger one? Are the units too far away from each other so not receiving the signal? If neither work email Kactoily, as they are really good at after sales service and can advise better. Hope you get it sorted as they are good..😉👍
Hiya, It doesn't seem to matter with my tap water as its the same as the pond. If the PH was affecting the reading i would have to look for another location for the trickle.. 😉👍
Hiya, I'm getting the same reading from the Chemical kit as the water monitor so far.. even when it rains and the water PH changes slightly.. Same with the temps and all stable. So far so good...😉👍
Hand on heart, would you say it's worth the money mate. or is it just another over priced gadget. But if it does exactly what it says on the tin then 👍 wooooow.
Hiya, If you look around at the prices of the tests kits that you could get he same results from, you'll find this all in one comes in cheaper. Have a look and see what you think... 😉👍🤔
Hiya, contacted Kactoily who replaced the unit within 2 weeks as they had to send another unit from abroad. Great after service. Can't knock it till youve tried it..😉👍
Lol your too much. Very funny. Good job
Thank you Andy for your honest review and we just LOOOVVVVE your humour!! I couldn't resist leaving a comment after 28 secs...
Glad you enjoyed it. I'm enjoying using the new Wireless Water Monitor. Its been a great addition to my pond set up..😉👍.
Well done thank you for getting back to me. all the very best Steve just starting. Up ANY tip will be very welcome

Great video I like the idea of keeping a eye on the water parameters. But I use pressurised filters. And that black box would have to go in the pond.

Looks a good bit of kit I like that good review buddy and your the master of editing fair play unless you have a twin 😂 all the best Jiffster 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the feedback. Glad your enjoying the content and I'll pass that onto Andy who does all the editing...Once he's warmed up...😁😁👍😉

2 Andy's are better than 1! Looks a decent bit of kit that.
Great review Andy. 😊

Hi Andy I have taken your advice on the phone charger and I am happy to say that I have it working thankyou so much for your help
Excellent news... 😉👍
Nice video Andy the gadget is £99 from Kacktoily at the moment 😊
I can only find the American $$$ website. Is there a UK site 🤔
Cool 👍
Hiya, Kactoily sent the link through so there's got to be a uk info website in there if Paul commented on the unit being £99😉👍🤔
would it help to run your trickle in to your vortex end ????? so its not reading the tap water.
Hiya, It doesn't seem to matter with my tap water as its the same as the pond. If the PH was affecting the reading i would have to look for another location for the trickle.. 😉👍
ORDERED ONE FOR CHRISTMAS 10 DEC JUST GOT IT TODAY AND IT AINT WIRELESS NOT HAPPY
Ooops, that's not good. Have you tried emailing them..
yes have to pay £9.50 post @@KoiPondLifestyle
Poor thing, next time you place an order, make sure it's wireless or wired.
How accurate is the PH (and the other readings) read over time vs the chemical kit?
