*_I feel cheated that I had never heard of this absolutely brilliant band until today - Just how good are they, wow ..._*
Some of us had the cheat code back in the day, but we're old now. The luck is in finding the stuff now.
@@urge26+1 here, have heard on bbc 6music tonight (1994 Shepherd Bush), ohhh my....👍❤️
I been a fan since the get go…….damn I’m getting old
I got to see the live. My girlfriend was converted by the third song. Amazing singer and band. The rhythm section plays to the songs perfectly.
If there’s a more overlooked band of the nineties I haven’t heard them. I listen to a lot.
Saw this incredible band back in early 90's. It was a last minute street performance put on by WXRT radio. The station gave everyone GLB Tshirts. Started to rain at the end of the show and they kept playing till their equipment shut down, Damn, I wish I still had that Tshirt .
I agree! Grant Lee Buffalo is one of the most underrated bands of all time. Grant Lee Philips songs dressed by Paul Kimble: always a masterpiece.
I love Grant Lee Buffalo. The vocals, arrangements, everything. One of the best bands ever.
How good does an overdriven 12 string acoustic sound!? And that bass !
A sublime song of universal melancholia, like watching your own life pass you by faster and faster ❤❤
Saw Grant Lee Buffalo on the Mighty Joe Moon tour in 95. Was amazing.
Still are.
So glad there is still a community for GLB.... So inspired by this band in the early 90's 🙂
90's were awesome, and GLB helped make them that way! My best friend bought Mighty Joe Moon at a record store because it "looked cool". One of the greatest decisions he ever made! A whole group of us became lifelong GLB fans as a result! I've gotten the chance to see Grant Lee Phillips several times, and every time it was an awesome show! Incredible voice, incredible songwriter!
Saw them at Glastonbury and they just blew me away-a 3 piece band creating this massive sound.
Followed Grant all the way through to his solo career
Incredible! Grant should be huge!
yes, it kinda depresses me that he plays to so few these days
i really do miss this band....the 90s was great due part to Grant Lee Buffalo!
Such an underrated band.
This song gives me shivers every single time.
I saw them at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, MI in the 90s…still one of my fave bands ever! 😍
Seen them live twice. Once in the Olympia in Dublin circa 1993 someone got out of the audience and jumped straight into the drum kit. Drums everywhere. But he managed to finish the song with what was left and a few stretches to the cymbals. Great band!!
I want to hug these guys.
Stone. Cold. Classic.
Top to bottom one of the greatest songs
amazing if only id seen them back in the day
Jupiter and Teardrop - Thank you for them!
From Denmark - love you!
Though not of the highest popular profile, still one of the critically-best and most enduring of the ‘90’s alternative bands…
One of my favourite songs period
A desert island must. Insane rig
I can’t believe that there’s only 3, what a sound!
Yes it's incredible. In three they make an energic and strong sound👏👏👏
And he’s playing a 12-string acoustic with distortion and playing leads 🤯
I love this. Love the bass.
struggled with his tuning there a bit!
9/21/23. Just heard this song on Lithium. What a fantastic song!! Absolutely love it!!!!
Still great, always will be. Always very stoned back in the day listening to this band. Great memories:)
I'm stoned right now haha
@@indecisiveloser They sound damn fine sober, too.
Top notch storytelling from Phillips in this one.
Grant tours every year sometimes a couple of times. It's just him and his guitar if you get a chance don't miss it on your life.
I've had the chance to see him play two private acoustic shows, including one at a house last fall, in a very small, intimate setting. What a show he can put on with just himself and an acoustic guitar. Talented, and a nice guy too.
Finally got to see him 2 nights ago in NYC. Awesome show. He’s a funny guy and got to meet him afterwards, very cool and down to earth
I love this band
Fantastic.
Great musicians, great band
Sooo good. Love and miss you guys ! Your the best
Love Jupiter and Teardrop!
Best version of them all !!!
Remember reading an article in the NME back in the early 90's about how cranked up this band sounded live. They were right, this sounds great.
I remember reading that article and thinking "really?" Then saw them at Leeds Poly in early '94 I think and they really did crank it up a notch. Absolutely great live :)
Such an amazing band.
bloody brilliant!
this is so beautiful!
Would have LOVED to have seen them together - one last time
Awesome, love this song.
Caralho véio que bom ver esses caras...the first time saw in roma 1995. wonderful
Me too and if I remember well GLB were a support to REM . I came for GLB, great concert but the sound in the hall were horrible :-)
Essa banda é um absurdo de bom.
Incredible
Great band
Brilliant ✨💎✨
Brilliant 🔥💎🔥
Cool tune... interesting bass... makes me want to experiment with mine...
Bellissimo!
@@MrStraccaletto The other two are also terrific.
f ing brilliant
Highly original, hard to categorize, powerful yet beautiful - why the #@&! haven't I heard about this band before?!
Drummer is diggin it!
Paul Kimble was already gone by the time I saw them at the Croc in the late 90s. Way different thing he's doing with the bass, far as I can tell. I love Grant's solo stuff, but they could've mined the psychedelic americana for a lot longer.
Good!!
@edmmman That sounds like an amazing show!
EPIC
Bass!Show!
Tucking fimeless!
Just a girl who can't say no
And her sweetheart on parole
Parents named her Jupiter
To bless her with a lucky soul
He's a boy who never cried
When they locked him up inside
And she nicknamed him her teardrop
For the tattoo by his eye
Now she's sleeping in her bed
And he's sleeping in her bed
And it's Jupiter and Teardrop
And it's Jupiter and Teardrop
She divines by radio
Pushing buttons show to show
And she wonders 'bout the fate of
Lovers in the barrio
She forgets after a while
When she tunes in on the dial
Jackie Wilson's Lonely Teardrops
And she drives another mile
Now she's sleeping in her bed
And he's sleeping in her bed
And it's Jupiter and Teardrop
And it's Jupiter and Teardrop
And it's Jupiter and Teardrop
And they want to have a child
Walk together down the aisle
But the world they live in is mean
And it's built on sheer denial
The phone rings it's for her
Got to see ya Jupiter
I'm in trouble with the law
Bring my 38 caliber
Now she's sleeping in her bed
As she pulls the phone plug dead dead
And it's Jupiter and Teardrop
And it's Jupiter and Teardrop
And it's Jupiter and Teardrop oh
And it's Jupiter and Teardrop
And it's Jupiter and Tear oh
And it's Jupiter and Tear
Oh oh
Ooh ooh ooh
Miss that distorted 12 string acoustic.
Estate 1996, Pellerossa, Torino. Concerto fantastico
Anche al Palazzetto dello sport live come spalla ai REM, grandissimi i Grant Lee Buffalo andai solo per loro, tre soli sul palco ma sembravano il doppio!!!
Modena 1996. Un suono pazzesco all aperto Il batterista faceva foto al pubblico!
@@MrStraccaletto PalaStampa era il nome all'epoca.
Juste enorme
un cadeau : date of my birth day ;) Merci
1000%

Back together?
BREAKING NEWS !!! The highly talented Paul KIMBLE (bassist and producer of Grant Lee Buffalo) is back with his band Pistol Star in September 2018 with the release of a new LP "Netherworld Orange". This will be the following of the best Grant Lee Buffalo albums. I have the proof of it as I played on this album ! Believe me... You liked Fuzzy, Star's and Stripes, Lone Star Song ? You will love Netherworld Orange !!! Stay tuned!!!
Love them so much. But this is a pretty awful audio mix. Kick drum sounds like a loaf of bread. Vocals with no tops whatsoever. Compare with their live TV slots elsewhere
who is playing electric guitar?
it's him, he uses a distortion pedal on his acoustic (it works!)
@edmmman dunno about 'still around', more like half reformed!
royale
the bass is completely out of tune during guitar solo.
@@eduardomota2429 you are probably deaf, man! lol
Frickin’ connoisseur
@pithw is the worst
The album version has way more punch to it imo. And his voice sounds dull as well :(
It's live, not in a studio. Know the difference!
@@island661 Obviously it's live. Just saying this version pales compared to the studio one.
