10 years man… wow! I remember watching this trailer as a kid for the first time in cinema at the Captain America: The First Avenger premiere. And I didn’t knew they were gonna show it, it really took me by surprised. Even I thought it was Spider-Man 4 at the beginning. Anyway, Andrew will always be the best for me :)
I'm only going to say this once and only, I love The Amazing Spider-Man series, it brought a different side to Spider-Man I've never got to see before, a ground style and roughness in the character living in a world that turned it's back on him and which is why he ended up be the way he was because of how life took a huge toll on him, it's in the second one (at least for me) where we do see him finally learning from his actions and be the Spider-Man that he was meant to be, I agree that the second movie had unnecessary subplots, I'm not blind about that, but it's this ground depiction of Spider-Man that I actually do genuinely love and have no regrets for it, both movies helped me with difficult things I experienced in my life and help me moved forward, because just like here and Into The Spider-Verse, Spider-Man despite having lost its loved ones, he still keeps on fighting in the dark world that surrounds him; both movies left an impact to me, and this will always be a great trailer, enough said
The first one anyway. I love it so much. The second one is only good for three moments really; Spiderman helping the bullied kid. Gwen dying, cuz they had the balls to do it like the comics, and the final scene with him and the boy
@@Merdicano like everyone, I have my problems with the second one but the central message of the amazing Spider-Man 2 is brilliant and inspiring in that everyone is against the clock and everyone has the responsibility to do all the good they can in all that time because it's the right thing to do

Mary K Not the best Spider-Man, also not the worst Spider-Man. The saga did good on the first movie, the second one screwed all... including Spidey himself, Shame that the second movie had a decent looking suit.
I remember when I first saw this trailer when my family and I went to see Captain American the First Avenger. Right when Gwen said “Peter lives with his aunt and uncle”, I realized it was a Spider-Man reboot. I mean, I was disappointed that we weren’t going to see Tobey do a 4th film in the Raimi series, but I was still excited to see Spidey come back to the big screen. Especially after seeing that thing at the end of the trailer in his POV. But when it said it was being released the summer after the one the trailer was released in, I was like “Next year? An, man!” and my dad was trying to keep his laughter together while in the theater.

This movie shit all over the character. Peter is supposed to become the hero we know him as out of goodwill and guilt. He makes his costume in this movie so people he terrifies and beats up won’t recognize him and call the police on him. And it’s for a quest to get brutal revenge for a murder I don’t think he realizes he caused. And to top it off, he wasn’t even stopping crime. He just came in, beat the shit out of people, and once he confirmed they weren’t the killer, he left them alone and ran away. He’s not sorry. He’s just angry, and at the wrong people. He’s perfectly fine with murdering people or letting people die. Never mind the fact that they had to rely on the “superhero has dead parents” crutch to make us care about him instead of…literally everything else the comics and other movies did, this isn’t Peter Parker, and this isn’t the Peter Parker Tobey and Tom were. Spider-Man shouldn’t need an update; he’s supposed to be *TIMELESS.* This movie also doesn’t make sense from a simple scriptwriting perspective. They want to focus on Peter’s relationships with Ben, Gwen, and his father, but they can’t balance them out enough to make us care about any of them. The first Raimi movie was able to balance and flesh out more characters with 15 minutes less runtime. This movie is utterly too long and too convoluted. Plot points will just start and gradually end to focus on something completely different. We have a plotline where Peter hunts down Uncle Ben’s killer, but that ultimately comes to nothing. Then we have him trying to find his father, and that almost never gets picked up again. Then we have his relationship with Dr. Connors, which is weird because they don’t really have an actual relationship outside “He knew Peter’s dad”. This movie’s a scatterbrained mess.
@@thefilmwatcher1302 Bro, you know it's okay for people to have different opinions, right? Opinions don't have objective value. I like every Spider-Man movie series for similar and different reasons. The multiverse is infinite, which of course means that different things happen in each universe, so there is bound to be a universe that is the TASM universe. Not every adaptation has to be congruent with the main comic universe (in Marvel's case, Earth-616). We can just be nice superhero fans that accept people's differing viewpoints (that sounded corny, but you know what I mean). Also, that comment was made 2 years ago. Peace👌
@@thefilmwatcher1302 It never ceases to amaze me how many pretentious “critics” there are on the internet. -The classic story of Spidey absolutely can be updated: just look at the Ultimate comics line. -Peter never murders anybody in this movie... -He is very angry and vengeful... at the BEGINNING of the movie. It’s called character growth. Comic Spidey was also selfish/short-sighted at first before he learned his lesson. Being able to see Peter’s shortcomings more in-depth as opposed to his immediate guilt being resolved in a single issue or scene is more impactful this way. We see him go from immature to a protector of NYC throughout the movie. -The whole parents aspect was incredibly stupid, but that wasn’t what made us care about Andrew’s Peter. His good heart, outcast charm, scientific adeptness, witty one-liners and ability to learn from mistakes/grow did that. -I’m guessing you didn’t watch the movie...? Ben and May feel like actual people with history and personality through their dialogue “Something is very wrong” “I know... nobody likes your meatloaf” and actions as opposed to the idealized old folks who simply want to take care of Peter. And Gwen? You REALLY must not have watched the movie, pretty much everyone agrees that her chemistry with Peter is the best part of the movie. Plus she’s the best on screen love interest so far, with her own life goals and a helpful skill set that doesn’t involve constantly getting captured and screaming her lungs out. (The Raimi trilogy is great too though, don’t get me wrong). -Peter CHOOSES to give up the chase for the criminal once he realizes what his powers can really be used for, justice instead of revenge. The conversation with Captain Stacy and the bridge scene help him finally understand what Ben was telling him. -Sony cut a bunch of important Lizard scenes so he is one of the weaker parts of the movie. Still though, there is enough substance that he does his job as an antagonist and furthers the protagonist’s journey of self discovery. Obviously everyone has different tastes, no one HAS to like anything and this movie has flaws just like every other movie. However, alot of people have really stupid reasons for writing it off as “bad”. Sheesh.

Imagine telling people in 2012 that Andrew Garfield would appear in the same universe as The Avengers in a film a decade later that also features Tony’s right hand man - Happy Hogan (but only after Garfield’s movies come out)
“He’s not alone”
Bless you Andrew Garfield
Spiderman's life sucks, it's like his heavenly due to balance having all that power. Every area of his life is a suck-fest, he loses everyone, he's overlooked, he has the sickest villains in the whole MCU who actually want him dead more than they want anything else, every single encounter could end in death, his whole life is risk...one misstep and he falls off a building, the best part of his life is being Spiderman. That's the formula to make one sassy, smartass hero = Spiderman must suffer.
Well thats the point Spidey risks his whole life to save people, save cities and save more and that shows thats he's so brave and not a scared whiny kid thats has superpowers that don't even use them correctly

Literally everyone who see this comment
1:43 best part of the trailer
@@owensanfordstuff That I won't argue with
@@Merdicano like everyone, I have my problems with the second one but the central message of the amazing Spider-Man 2 is brilliant and inspiring in that everyone is against the clock and everyone has the responsibility to do all the good they can in all that time because it's the right thing to do

Yes
@@synthicnazoo6622 Tom holland is q good Spider-man and Peter Parker but homecoming was just terrible
This really was a great movie. It was able to update Spider-Man while staying true to his character.
PS: Andrew is better than Tom.
Spider-Man shouldn’t need an update; he’s supposed to be *TIMELESS.*
This movie also doesn’t make sense from a simple scriptwriting perspective.
Ben and May feel like actual people with history and personality through their dialogue
“Something is very wrong”
“I know... nobody likes your meatloaf”
and actions as opposed to the idealized old folks who simply want to take care of Peter.
Sheesh.
Underrated Spiderman movies.
Remember the time when trailers didn’t give you the whole entire plot of the movie?!?! Good times.
