Forging a mini Katana! This was a fun little project that ended up being way more difficult I than expected. Although all of the tiny little components took less time to create than they would for a regular sized sword, they were much harder to make since they were so small. Can we take a moment and appreciate the detail going into this piece? The mirror polish, the brass end cap, the copper habaki being back notched? Of course, the functionality is limited, but if this is the kind of effort you put into a model, or a display piece, or whatever, it just goes to show how you treat your work. Goddamn, sir. Okay, this is super ultra cool. I'm starting my first blacksmithing class next semester, and I'm so excited to learn! I know I'm pretty far away from doing anything like this but I'm absolutely stoked to get started and learn the basics!
How did your class go? (yeah 1 year later lol)
@@kitamurrra It was great! I learned a lot about blacksmithing, got some really good experience, and made some epic stuff. I've since started working with metal on a smaller scale too by making jewelry.

I can't help thinking you would be better forging out of a billet rather than precast. Especially as a folded blade is stronger
