Forging a Steampunk style katana from massive chunk of steel! This was a great project which resulted in a seriously cool piece of equipment. Enjoy the fast paced, detailed build video.

This sword doesn’t kill your enemies. It sends them back in time!
And forward at the same time
Anime cliche
No its will send enemies to Paradise
Sounds like what Killer Queen would do if someone find out about the user's identity
If killed by it you ghost is trapped in a random timeline
So satisfying when people are so good at their crafts
This is the best forge channel on TH-cam. Love the style of the videos, sounds, and of course the artistic creations. Awesome work.

Honestly, This dude deserves a museum to store all his katanas in when he’s not around
Classic steam punk just like I remember back in the good old days.
Steampunky awesomeness!
I would have put a bit of leather on the grip instead of gears though.
Wanted to make a steampunky blade for some dude, but he insisted on a really weird contraption instead!!
leather is lame, gears are where it's at
@obliterator deathcon 4 Yoyo
@@hamishcruickshanks4749 Glued on gears is for GIRLS who make steampunk pendants n stuff :p and stemapunk cosplayers who glue them on their hats, to make them STEAMPUNK. Got it?
@obliterator deathcon 4 Playing watchdogs legion instead of working xD I am really thinking about making a steampunk sword as well now.
@obliterator deathcon 4 Naw, just a prop with an alu blade.
When are you going to join in "forge in fire?" Competition?
can’t say i’ve seen a steampunk katana on forged in fire
There are far better ways to prove one's self than on the television.
He is using cooking tools so he goin to Ramsy cooking show "With blades" i hope
Dude I just started watching this show and it’s amazing
Thought of asking the same 😂
This is amazing the amount of creativity and hard work that goes into these blades and swords I love this man I could literally watch this all day lol
th-cam.com/video/6N-RtkqksR8/w-d-xo.html
I'd love to see a steampunk Viking sword, following up on this beauty.
We need some demonstrations of the ability’s of these weapons
I was thinking the same but then I realized that these are mostly concepts (art). I would love to have one of these in my living room but then I realized I could never afford one.
They're art pieces. In terms of actual usage it'd get dull VERY quickly and likely fall apart.
Let me build a sheath for one of those beauties! You knocked this one out of the park man! The 12 gram cartridge really topped it off. A+
Thanks for the love brotha!
It looks amazing, and is an excellent execution of the concept.
That doesn't mean that sticking gears and gauges onto an object with no moving parts doesn't still make me weirdly angry, though.
Damn if this thing turned into a gun and something else you could be your own rwby character!
Your creativity is amazing. Such a nice job again.

*I LOVE YOUR MATERIALS IN MAKING THAT KATANA*
Imagine the quality of mideaval swords and japanese katana if they had access to a power hammer.
I bet you a old katana any katana would break that sword not really truly a. Katana just looks like one but just for looks to be hang up look up how a real authentic katana is made in feudal Japan era and present day they make it and show how they made it in the feudal Japan era n still makes it the same way till this day his swords are ones of the most sought out throughout the world for real collectors or who ever has the expensive ass amount of money it cost if u got it like that
th-cam.com/video/6N-RtkqksR8/w-d-xo.html
Dude! Frickin amazing work! But the big question is - which lucky steam punk have you allowed to adorn that sword??
That was just beautiful bro the craftsmanship was superb. Please keep making these works of art im a big fan of this channel.
I see so many katana/tanto builds with a single, curved bevel on the tip. The tip should have a second, faceted bevel with a defined line (yokote) where the blade and tip bevel meet.
Как всегда мастерство на высоте. Особенно забавно выглядело нормализация клинка в пицца печи.

I got a good laugh in the end seeing the 4 electric outlets watch in awe..
I have tried to move a piece of metal that thick with a hammer! It sucked all the way till I was done! I felt it in my arm for days
@@Aleeknives I'm trying to work with home made bloom steel and not having a power hammer or press is gonna make them kunts hard to make a knife
@@Dylanschillin kinda hard is an under statement! You will also loose a lot of product through the multitude of heats and a ton of fuel throughout the process! Good luck to you sir
It s the most beautiful katana i ve ever seen , i wish i have one
I was about to say if this man hand forges a katana from that chunk of metal without a power hammer he’s a beast
Its shaped like a katana .... but a true katana lies in the steel and its forging process.
Its the continuous folding of the steel and hammering it. Fold again and repeat. It's how the steel becomes both strong, elastic inside and hard to break ... then the slurry and quenching to harden the edges and maintain its sharpness.
Its also why it's so expensive to buy a real katana. Of course, all of the swords made today are purely ceremonial or decorative.

A good craft indeed. It makes me wonder how long and how would a traditional craftsman do these things actually.
Whatup new friend, very cool katana! Love steampunk stuff!
The most beautiful katana I've ever seen 😱♥️
凄いな、まさしく刀だよ!
こんな凄い刀作れるのホンマ凄い!
Awesome! I think the *only* way to improve on it would be using Damascus. An eye catching extreme random weird looking pattern could really play into the overall style and fit the theme of the build perfectly. Like someone had to go out and scavenge a bunch of different metal together to make one sword.

I’m kinda new to this scene so I can’t really tell, but do you use oil stones or water stones? And which should I use for maintenance and sharpening?
So all we need now is 1000 damned souls, 4 gallons of blood, and willing sacrifices and we can call this one "Yamato".

when you brought that massive block to the anvil and picked up the hammer I feared for your sanity.
I laughed out loud when u showed the hammer, then cut to the hydraulic press
Whats funny about it
I was on Facebook and somebody posted a “cliff notes” version of this video and it popped up on my video feed. Something told me to stop watching it because it was sped up and the important aspect of the build was lost. Didn’t take much to find it on TH-cam and I’m glad I did! Now, if the same blacksmith posted this video posted the abbreviated version on Facebook then fine, but if it was some poser then I gotta say that they don’t know anything about true craftsmanship. The muscle that went into this should be appreciated, end of story!

th-cam.com/video/6N-RtkqksR8/w-d-xo.html
ага
He has definitely improved since that ill-fated rapier. It still toughens at too high a temperature, but since he temper the blade later is not such a problem. I have no problem with the way the blade came out. You could take a millimeter off each side before sanding, but that's nothing compared to that waste.
