    I was messing around looking for whiskey recipes and stumbled across your channel. I loved your ribs and will try them. We have the same grill setup which i love to smoke everything on. This week it's pulled pork so if you get this comment before Thursday send me a link to a good Butt smoke.

    I made these last week. They were amazing. The sauce was great too. If you somehow manage to have leftovers, the whiskey flavor is even more intense the next day.

    Question @Postal Barbecue - where did you get that automatic spritzer top? I bet that gives a better spray... gotta have It!

    • @PostalBarbecue

      @@PostalBarbecue - You. Are. The. Man! Thank you! From what I can see it looks like it gives a better spray than the old hand-crank. I buy those cheap bottles and it's not worth it - gives you hand cramps and eventually the nozzle gives out. Never again!

    WHISKY RIBS...???? I think so... QUESTION: Do you prefer back ribs or spare ribs?

    • @bbman4
      @bbman4 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great video. Evidenced by your rib color and smoke ring, they looked perfect! Answering your question, baby back every time. I get a better taste and control. I've done spare ribs often and they were always hit or miss due to the quality of the meat. Usually more fatty than my baby backs, and way more time to grill. If I do a longer grill I'll do St Louis Style.

    Very good video and great Whiskey BBQ sauce recipe. I have used wine barrel strips for smoking and while it smelled wonderful while in the smoker, it never infused the meat with a "wine" flavor... I am wondering if you could check that out with the bourbon barrel pieces?? I am thinking that most of the whiskey flavor came from the spritz and the BBQ sauce and not the smoke. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    • @PostalBarbecue
      @PostalBarbecue  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man. These barrel pieces came right from the distillery so they were had a great aroma. I have used them to cook other meats without any other whisky added and they did have that hint of whisky. It kind of reminded me of cherry being smooth and a little sweet.

    Do you always cook your sauces. Can you getaway by not doing that way

    • @PostalBarbecue
      @PostalBarbecue  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me it depends how ambitious I’m being. Haha. I think a light simmer for a few minutes. But a lot of times I’m in a rush so I’ll just mix it cool. That said it’s always best to add warmed sauce to the meat vs cold sauce.

    Ribs are incredibly difficult to get right on the grill, at least for me. I can never get them as tender as I would like. Most of the time I use the regular oven for like 3 hours @ 250F then finish on the grill. It's cheating, but it works and the bone comes out like it was never even attached! This recipe is really quality. I'll give it a go sometime. Thanks!

      The membrane was removed prior to prep.

    • @TheMario265
      @TheMario265 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PostalBarbecue A lot of people don't remove the membrane thus having a tougher rib. I usually will put my rub on the ribs and cover them with foil for over 12 hours. They come out very tender and tasty!

    • @TheMario265
      @TheMario265 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Let me clarify, cover them in foil and put them in the fridge for at least 12 hours.

    • @PostalBarbecue
      @PostalBarbecue  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that’s a great way to do it. The salt in the rub dry brines the ribs overnight which tenderizes the meat. I think the last rib video I posted a while ago was done that way.
