Welcome to Nakuru, Kenya! After exploring the street food in Nakuru, I decided to head back out the following morning to have some breakfast, get a taste of everyday life at a local market, and visit beautiful Lake Nakuru.
Joining me, as always, are my guides from Kumbukumbu Tours and my friend and trusty cameraman, Tasos. Let’s explore more of Nakuru, Kenya!
🇰🇪More Kenya Videos: • First Day in KENYA! AF...
    🇬🇷 Tasos: / tasoskarantakos
ROOT VEGETABLE BREAKFAST: We started our day at the same restaurant where we enjoyed the kuku (rooster) the previous day. This time, we got some boiled sweet potato, arrowroot, eggs, and Kenyan tea!
NAKURU WAKULIMA MARKET: Here, we found lots of vendors selling produce, including onions, carrots, peppers, limes, tomatoes, tomatoes, potatoes, sugarcane, passionfruit, managu, and more. We also tried mayai chemsha, salty fish, raw peas, raw managu, corn melon, passionfruit, tree tomatoes, watermelon and pineapple.
HYGIENIC BUTCHERY & RESTAURANT: At this restaurant, we tried mursik, a thick, fermented milk that’s drunk by the Kalenjin people. It contains charcoal and herbs!
LAKE NAKURU: Finally, we ended at a viewpoint overlooking Lake Nakuru!

Simple fresh foods of Kenya, so yummy! Nakuru has grown well! We lived in Kenya in 1995-1998! Loved it there! Yes, miss the fermented milk, so good!

GM David. These videos are so enjoyable to watch. Oh, the ladies: looks like they are smitten with you. Thank God nobody pinched you this time. Everything is really healthy and fresh. Thanks to the African hot sun and heat that the fruits are so sweet. The healthiest part of the watermelon though is the white part near the rind: that's where most of the nutrients are. I remember we used to use arrowroot flour as a thickener like cornstarch. Thanks for the reference to Trinidad and Guyana about how sweet the pineapple is. There is so much to say about the market, like how crowded and busy it is, but you all got through just fine. I don't think that you and Tasos would have had such an enjoyable time had it been in one of the bigger cities. These people are so nice, warm and friendly and they treated all of you like family. I love how you and Tasos interacted with them with no barriers. Truly genuine. "Nobody does it better", Carly Simon. So David, keep up the good work. God bless you and to you, your daughters, the rest of your family, and your Davidsbeenhere team, have a very Happy Easter. Live, love, laugh.🙏😇💖🐰🇹🇹🇨🇦

Just a clarification. The hairy thing being sold by the street vendor is actually a fly whisk not a mop but one can use it as they see fit.

Good morning David. Let’s see what you get into this episode. Being fed sweet potato by the ladies I see 😉. My mother could eat those provisions like that. Boiled or steamed but I need spice as well. Yes David. Truly organic. Love that you support the locals with purchasing souvenirs. Omg. You and your sauce. 😂 Mine is out for delivery right now. Egg and chilis. Peas. Managu. Don’t like bitter greens ie; 🥦 rabe. The rock 🪨🫤. Love your transparency. Love that you give honest reviews. Corn melon looks so unique. Never had. Love passion fruit tho. Never saw pure sugar - Jaggery. Passion fruit 🙌🏼. French beans. 🧉🥥🍉. Never heard of a tree tomato. 🍍. Naturally riped fruit a different level than what we buy in the grocery. Fermented milk? No thanks. Does look rich heavy and filling. Hygienic restaurant cool 😎. Ending at the national park. Great vid as usual. Thanks for sharing and see you next video. 🤗

the thingy made with cow tail hair can be used as a duster but it's mainly used in Kenyan butcheries to 'blow away' flies that lcome near meat. And what you bought is a winnowing tray. We use it for winnowing legumes and grains to separate them for debris. But you could also use it as a decorative item for your house.
Managu are African nightshade vegetables, and the sour fruit that tastes like heartbreak, we call it 'thorned' melon, but it's name is horned melon or kiwano
