Swahili culture and language is the love child of Arabic, Indian and the African coastal influences and people. It's incredible how similar some influences are but still making this region unique. David bless you for treating the kids to a meal and not making a fuss about it

Never knew how valuable this innocence and simplicity really is. I hope they don't lose it as Africa transforms into developed status. The cold war destroyed this for many countries in the west. People aren't human anymore in many developed countries. This is actually what conservatives and libertarians argue for when they say, "small government" because liberty lies closest to the "state of nature." Food from the farm to the customer without any agencies interfering for regulation/modification. Now that's true liberty. Of course the downside to this is you get different standards from different places and you can't know if the food is bad but I never heard of food poisoning until I left Africa. There has to be a happy middle between corporate farming, government control, and individual farming.
