Isn't the opposite thing happening, they're promoting gambling constantly. The few people that aren't taking the money are now being ostracized as being a bunch of purity testing trolls. If you want greed to be the primary motivator, then you're already winning
Poki literally questioned HER FRIEND "Why are you congratulating him??" When her friend was just literally saying congratulations to someone who had something good happen to him. What a nasty person
Pokimane is the LAST person who should be talking about ethics! She has got lesser creators who have called her out banned for "harassment" or reported them with false dmca takedowns and if that fails she sends in the simp army. I'm not shocked she's trying to defend Twitch as 'moral' though, she's been treated preferentially for years and will ignore the obvious biases and immorality on Twitch (like a streamer having sex while streaming only getting a 48 hour ban) because of this.
There are a few people I can think of that should be the LAST people talking about morality. Ted Bundy, Mini Ladd, just really any pedophile/serial killer. Now, to complain about some high school bs like it's on that level... that's some chronic-online behavior right there.
@@aaronkinney6004 Are you autistic? You're taking it a bit too literal. None of those people have any correlation whatsoever and just because they might be more morally incomprehensible on some sort of scale, doesn't mean Pokimane can't still be unethical or immoral to a point. What you seemingly missed about the point is that it's hypocritical for Pokimane to say what she did given her history. She might not need the money anymore but she comprised her integrity long ago and proved that she is a rather big bully. Competitors to Twitch are better off without 'content creators' like Pokimane because people like Pokimane are what has helped ruin it to begin with.
Same with EA. EA have been spitting on their FIFA fans for so long as there is *NO* competition whatsoever. FIFA games have been the same thing since 2018 and now that FIFA have cut ties with EA and partnered with 2K AND other AAA companies are making football (soccer) games. EA pants are now caked in sh*t as they try to convince people to play their game instead of others by adding features like "You can now change the colour of your kit and stadium!"
It’s almost adorable that Pokimane thinks that Amazon will turn away a customer from its actual core business (AWS) just for the purpose of driving more traffic to the unprofitable Twitch platform. She has no clue how precarious her position truly is.
I think she has an idea, she just wants to keep the moral position until twitch is unusable and she can act like she has no choice but to switch platforms/she can get out of her contract
She made it to the "top" as a thirst trap twitch thot and now got an e-degree in business dynamics. If Twitch signs someone, cool, now you can go there to watch them. It should be as simple as that. But it’s 2023, so everyone pretends to be perfect and debate about every single little thing. Absolutely ridiculous. If signing to Kick gives more money to Gambling somehow, so be it. Honestly, do we really care? Is it really that important? Or is everyone just finding something else to cry about? These streamers (the people’s favorite streamers) are making MONEY.. isn’t that what fans should want? God, who CARES. People are not discussing 'whether the two giant streaming sites are better then the other'. What people are discussing is the L takes people have against kick. Said people are trying to take the moral high ground by shitting on every person that streams on kick because the parent company is a gambling company. While TWITCH also has a gambling section, has gambling advertisements, has streamers LIKE POKIMANE getting sponsored by gacha games like genshin impact which is GAMBLING.
She has morals? Oh I just forgot how she shamed and belittled some kid live, or when she tried to go after sponsors of other streamers, or very recent, when she said she will contact organizations and lobby them to make legislations that will hold her "haters" accountable for the things done on the internet, or making money by streaming whole episodes of Avatar Last Airbender violating TOS. She does contribute to gambling as well, because gacha games are gambling. She is basically a saint at this point. She has preferential treatment on twitch that is why she will stay there.
I think Poki is afraid of losing influence and power since she was able to make so many changes on Twitch and now that there are more options, she sees it as a threat.
I feel like we've reached a point where people feel that they need to have a stance on every single topic brought up. Instead of just leaving it alone, let people pick what platforms they want, people have to make it a war that has no gain to either side whatsoever. Bored people making problems, I tell you
Except it started with Pokimane and has less to do with boredom and more to do with her being a manipulative attention wh0re. And that's not misogynistic as I'd say Hasan's the same but significantly worse.

Nice to see a glimpse into Mutas real life. Gambling addictions are often so overlooked, and its one of the fastest addictions to punish you and your loved ones. I'm glad to see him bring more awareness to this. Its not taken seriously enough
Not only overlooked but extremely neglected by a few people who refuse to acknowledge it or have barely any understanding of it. Saw some guy a few days ago blaming the gaming addicts for being exploited by these companies.
I want to touch on a hypocrisy I have noticed with gambling and the Twitch community. Most of the twitch community supports porn, Hasan,Ethan Klein and Asmongold are very vocal about supporting porn. Amouranth and Allinity straight up make porn. Why is this relevant to gambling ? The main argument for gambling being wrong is that it is addictive and fair enough, but porn has been proven to be addictive time and time again. So why is it wrong for gambling streamers to make money off addiction but it is ok for amouranth and allinity to do the same ? Also they claim they are concerned with kids getting into gambling. Since you by nature need money which requires either a credit card, a payment service like paypal or crypto currency to gamble kids aren't likely to be able to do it. Obviously it is possible for minors to be able to use these things but it is hard and not likely. Meanwhile porn all you need is an internet connection. One study found the average age at which people see porn is 11 YEARS OLD. I don't know why they are so upset that kids might start taking part in addictive gambling when they straight up taking part in addictive porn and they don't seem to care.
Tell me. Whats the worst that can happen to a porn addict, considering most porn is free? He busts too many loads? Maybe forgets how to talk to girls? Starts jerking to Furry porn? lmao And whats the worst that can happen to a gambling addict? Maybe he starts committing fraud to continue gambling. He takes out loans, goes into debt. Steals from his wifes bank account. Spends his childs College fund. Which addiction seems more destructive? Its like comparing a meth addiction to a weed addiction.
Appreciate the nuanced commentary. The Twitch streamers taking the morale high ground and Kick Streamers acting like nothings wrong and the belief that 'If everyone is culpable in some way, it's morally good' is getting insane. It's all bad.
At this point the biggest reason I want to see Kick succeed is bc it would be hilarious if Train actually pulls off the “imma make my own streaming site, with blackjack and hookers” move.
Interestingly enough, Train didn’t start Kick. He was one of the main contributors in investing and promoting it. He tries selling the narrative that he’s the master mind behind it all after “Twitch wronged him for banning Stake” lol. He just calls people cocksuckers and starts the dumbest arguments in defense of it.
Ngl, Train lost ALL the respect I had for him and his little streaming enterprise after his interview with asmongold where he reveal to suffer from a terminal case of TDR and the fact that he apparently think right wing views are not real and just people trying to be edgy. This is more redflag than the red army on parad.
My mom had a huge gambling problem for as long as I knew her. Her poison of choice was scratch off tickets. She would do anything to get money to buy more of them. Even when she won a large prize amount 25 thousand (was a lot of money back in the 90’s) she still kept going trying to win more. I found out as I got older that she was buying whole books of these tickets at 300 dollars a pop and was still doing them up until a few weeks before she died which was six years back.

I just love how Pokimane is arguing as if Twitch and Amazon are the same while xQc is just repeatedly breaking copyright law despite being told not to just days into his contract. Like, each platform picked their least qualified champions and set them loose on each other.
If I remember right, Poke was playing Only Up with a bunch of her friends. They're all having fun racing the game together and laughing and malding and creating fun content. Meanwhile, Poke gets frustrated and proceeds to sit there watching speedrunners showing the route in the game, and then shifts to watching XQC talk about drama for whatever reason. She decides to mute and deafen herself from all her friends and argue with him about "morals". Both of them are live on their respective streaming websites, arguing about which is less evil, streaming eachother's angry faces infront of thousands of people. Like, why can't people just have fun and spend time with their friends? They're literally being paid to do it! They're just fighting about shit doesn't matter in the end, and being a bitch to the friends around them who do matter...
That's so pitiful, Poke getting tilted because she's losing at a game that her friends are trying to enjoy so she looks up speedrunning videos so she can beat them is so sad. This isn't the case of "a group of friends goes to do something fun that one person in the group happens to be pretty good at", she's just disappointing.

As someone who's worked at a legal casino for 3+ years, I can say gambling in general hinges on the person actually having an addiction tendency. Never in all my years working there and with the people and stakes/gambles/wins I've seen, have I ever felt the need or curiosity to actually try it myself, because as long as you know how the system works, you have no need for it to even try it. You'll never win against the house and the RNG is always against you, with the exception of them throwing a few wins your way, you'll feel happy and a sense of euphoria, but if you sit down and take into account the money you had to dump in order to get this "win", you'll realise you're always losing more than what you're winning. Gambling values the idiots.
Fair. But (anecdotally Atleast) gambling for most people is a thrill and nothing more. That’s my inductive reasoning. There are very real addicts and people who live their life in an orbit around gambling, but I’d say most people do it for fun. It’s not so much about winning. Everyone understands the house wins and has the odds, but it’s part of the blissful ignorance. I think you view the whole idea of casinos and gambling with too much of a sterile view. But to each their own.
@@bigstevedzn2353 Like I said, my views come from experiencing the casino environment for sometimes 13h a day, 5 days a week. The people that come out of curiosity are many, but 2/3s of them return, because your first time is almost always guaranteed to net you a small win in order to lure you back in, that's how it's placed. I once registered a woman and her husband and they got a 700euro win, with like 20euro stake, the woman became a regular and still is after 2 and a half years. I don't see her only on her birthday. The people that play "for fun" are recommended through their friends that actually have a real problem. And what's more alarming is the fact I see more and more young people who have just turned the legal age (for me is 21) to register and become regulars. Doctors, lawyers, teachers, old people playing their pensions, younger people playing their inheritance, I've seen it all and I can count on one hand the people that actually came for fun and I never saw again. I know all of our patrons by first name basis lol.
@@bigstevedzn2353 Someone I worked with has told me that he has gone to casinos a couple times, he is the legal are and he went to a legal casino. That I know of that person is not an addict. There are people who very much gamble for fun and see it as a way to spend some money for a fun evening. They are exchanging some cash for a nice experience, same way someone would spend that same amound of cash at a theme park. As long as you know how the system works and know that you are very very likely not going to win and the casino is a legal casino, I don't have an issue with gambling.
Yeah I agree with this a fair bit, but disagree with the addiction tendency part. Because in my mind I also used to think, "how do people get addicted to gambling? If you know how much you want to spend and walk out when you have broken even or profited some amount how do people get stuck in here? Then I went gambling as a fun experience, with friends. And there I realised that I could spend the fixed amount of money and not get it back and it was fine because we were having fun. And that's where I realised something. All your friends won't finish or win their money at once. So if you go bust first, you can't participate with them. And that brings such FOMO that people take out more cash to continue the night. And that's where it all starts going downhill. Once your brain is okayed with the action of putting more cash when the first batch runs out, you're in the vicious cycle and the rush or high you get from gambling does the rest.
@@deathtrap5556 that is a fair point as well. I think for a lot of people (me included) it’s like you said, a fixed amount of money to lose. Anyone who has half a brain cell and hasn’t gotten blasted off watery casino drinks while having an unfrozen bank account knows you half to walk away after your big haul or be ok with losing it. I remember when that entire scandal about McDonald’s making their fries with pink goop or something was going around. I say this in reference to the original commenter. When you see how something works, you feel a certain way, but when you turn a blind eye and just enjoy something the details become benign. It’s also understanding human nature as well. If you live an arms length away from a casino, that can be a problem for anyone.

Many of them have rigged games, or loopholes that allow collusion, team play, etc. Many have gone under or shut down over the years and have lost user funds in the process. I don't trust online casinos, and think they are a huge problem. That said, I have no issues with people streaming on Kick. I'm with you 100%.

The problem with Twitch is that they still allow unregulated/crypto gambling sites. The Twitch guidelines only list four crypto gambling sites that are not allowed on Twitch, but there are still countless streamers who stream on and get sponsored by other crypto gambling sites and have not received any punishment.
Speaking broadly and not specifically to anyone, but if we're gonna advocate to not "feed into addictions" then OnlyFans, Twitch, TH-cam, and all other forums & forms of media should be taken down/stopped being used as well because there's the case of addiction for everything. I say just let people destroy their lives if they want; the help is there if they want it. No sense in removing anything which could potentially become problematic 4 people “just in case”. There will be zilch left if that’s the approach. It’s moronic… I love to chain smoke cigarettes and get drunk off brandy at 2 in the afternoon, I am aware of the risks associated with it and the addiction potential. I used to be addicted to various opioids. I haven’t for many years now touched them. I still do not think it’s any sort of solution to ban things with addiction potential. Granted, drugs can be argued as having medical benefit; but that doesn’t matter to me. Society is not obligated to shape life for the few people who cannot regulate any kind of (potential) habit; they’re not any more important than the people who are responsible and enjoy doing the things. P0rn, booze, tobacco, drugs, gambling, sex, fast food and a whole lot more that could be listed are things that all have a risk of their own. Doesn’t mean they are gonna be solved or stopped after being taken away. Just means there will only exist those things outside of the law & regulation. Those things are also all v enjoyable things that make the misery and mundane nature of a lot of people’s lives bearable. The rule shouldn’t apply to the majority based on the exception.

I have to disagree here as a former amazon employee who really hates the company for many reasons that I used to work at. I have to warn y'all. Kick is much worse than Twitch because - Twitch's parent company is amazon which has its own variety of problems but the worse they can do here is give ads about amazon products on twitch. Amazon is something everyone and their mom uses and at the end of the day you are getting a product if you decide to buy it because of a twitch ad. Whether you like the product or not is a you problem. Now Kick's parent company is a Australian company called Ashwood Holdings whose owner also owns 'Stake' - It's a gambling company. Kick is designed to make children and adults into gambling addicts. You keep getting ads for shady gambling games and kick streamers keep getting sponsored by these gambling games to show it to their very impressionable viewers. The sites main goal is to turn viewers into gambling addicts which makes Kick actually dangerous. I will advise you to actually think about it and make your own decisions here regarding kick. Twitch sucks in many ways but Kick is in fact much much worse and it's not regulated so illegal activities happen a lot. Twitch has banned gambling games for a reason despite not regulating it's platform well. Please think about this properly before you decide to follow your favorite twitch streamers onto kick.
1:10 My father ruined my childhood, put us in gigantic debt. I stand by that gambling is no worse than alcohol in the end, is less restricted because goverment doesnt completly control the market. Both can quickly spiral into very destructive tendencies. Both can gambling and alcohol can be enjoyed without issue, if used with head, i find it pointless to demonize gambling.
My 2 cents from working in Mergers and Acquisitions I can crunch the numbers on why a $100mm deal makes fiscal sense if wanted By design, streamers are either intentionally or unintentionally missing the core issue. The issue with kick isn't which parent company is more evil, the issue is what is kicks motivation for this aggressive expansion. My theory is that the number crunchers behind the scenes noticed a substantial increase in stake traffic and profit from the sponsored streams to the point where acquiring the gamba streamers is a sound investment. That to me is a more demonstrable harm. It's not even about the addiction part, gambling isn't a gacha game where you siphon money from the player over 2-3 years, it becomes an activity an 18 year old will participate in into their 70s. The profit off converting one user is way higher Edit- i did some rudimentary math - for stake to pay off XQCs buyout just from Stake conversion it only needs on just the fundamental tangible level to convert 2% of his one month unique users to pay it off over 20 years. Thats not to mention i extremely lowballed one aspect of the fiscal details to an extreme degree (lowest average casual gambler spend, lowest house edge, which an unregulated casino most likely wont follow, and a shorter window.

I don't think that applies here, I mean the truth is Kick is owned by a crypto gambling place and they just gave otter million dollars to the biggest twitch streamer. I am not a pokimane. I've never seen a solitary stream by her. It seems like a reasonably topical subject though
It creates content. Pokimane comments on XQc, AdinRoss streams to his audience, HasanAbi joins in and streams to his audience, the Muta and Charly make TH-cam videos about it. So basically the same topic/content get recycled 5-6 times, streamers making bank whilst their sheep followers frantically spam the chat streams lol.. Keeping morality is almost like a non existent myth for trending star streamers: the more controversial and outrageous antics they pull up, the more popularity and money they get in return in today’s messed up media platform market.
Think about the line Pokimane used: "Why would I compromise my morals and stream on another platform that gives me more money when I already have money?" Dumbass, because loads of other people don't have the money that you have. Imagine someone suggesting hey, you should try shoes or underwear from this new place, its better quality for a more affordable price. And you turning around and saying, "I'm not about to compromise my morals by betraying my brand loyalty. And pfft, I can afford my costlier shoes and underwear, cheapskate!" Meanwhile both shoes and underwear are made from the same material. Twitch and Kick both run on the AWS platform which is owned by Amazon. Amazon owns Twitch, but it makes more money from the percentage that apps and platforms like Kick make them, because loads of start-ups can pay to use AWS to develop apps and platforms of their own. In the end, Amazon is scamming Pokimane and her rebuttal is, "I'm rich and can afford to be scammed." Meanwhile the platform she's on will die if they do not respect creators and be more reasonable and fix their practices.

The "moral debate" wasnt what they are offering and for how cheaper, but how they made that thing. Thats at least how i interpret it (not pokis thing in specific but whole twitch vs kick drama)
That segment about gambling addiction is something I can attest to. Sometimes, it leeches slowly, getting worse and worse until you realise you're almost out of gas and can't pay for enough to get home. It's wondering, even for a second, what the money someone was kind enough to lend you would be worth in in-game currency. Getting out of addiction like that, especially after having a game dictate my daily schedule for three years prior, was like becoming a whole new person. I thought about reinstalling that game for a looooong time afterwards, but the urge slowly died off as I kept myself away from it. I've been clean for years now, and my finances are in significantly better order. Never underestimate how easy it can be for the leeches to attach.
Agreed. Especially when it pertains to any form of addiction. Many of these streamers make their money off of cultivating and exploiting people's addiction to parasocial relationships.
These are people who never worked a day in their life and they are in the business of parasocial relationships, not streaming. Parasites who constantly surround themselves with sad lonely people who have too much money to feed their fragile little egos by getting standing ovations for the dumbest shit that spews out of their mouths... Specially the "poggers" (ew) community, who is basically the Hollywood elite of streaming... They even created their own "Oscar" ceremonies to pat each other on the back.
@@jasonwaterfalls6145 I am just worried, when I see people make firm statements as if they thought about something, but what they say is so surfacelevel that it's dangerous to say to your young audience. Giving them absolute opinions about a gray area topic.
My mentality is if you live in a society, you are free to do what you want, if it doesnt hurt the society. Gambling and other addiction hurts the society as a whole, so it should be reguleted as such. Thats my mentality with how most laws should work.
Honestly as a small streamer, I just prefer how accessible it is to stream Twitch (FOR THE TIME BEING). I have all of my stuff set up through OBS and I have some Stream Elements stuff up too, and it sucked that I wasn't able to import the Stream Elements stuff over to Kick and that I couldn't have simple things such as editing my stream info through OBS (this could and probably will change in the future, but at the time of me typing this, the only way you can edit your stream details is through the creator dashboard on Kick). In terms of the morality side of things, I saw a comment that said that it's a "pick your poison" type of situation, which I 100% agree with, I wish that the big streaming companies that are out there aren't evil, but I could dream haha. I'm choosing which platform to stream on based on how accessible it is to stream on those platforms, and currently I prefer Twitch because I'm already well established there, but that's just my personal preference for the time being. I'm sure one day Kick will be just as accessible as Twitch, but for now, it's a bit annoying to have to deal with. It's nothing major, but it's more so just nitpicky things that I see. If you want to stream on Kick, by all means do so! It's also a thing to keep in mind that it's a new site, so that means that there is less competition over on it because of how new it is, so take an advantage of the situation, especially if you're a small/new streamer! I'm just sticking with Twitch because, as I previously mentioned, I'm already well established there (maybe not in terms of followers because I only have 40, but in terms of streaming software and other small things). Hopefully this comment helps anyone who's stuck in deciding which service to use, and if not, I hope you're able to figure it out soon! :) TLDR: Both are evil, I picked Twitch as my poison because of nitpicky things.
Some people online were saying that streaming on Kick is also supporting Amazon because they use AWS so you'd be supporting Amazon + all the bad-sides of Kick. Thoughts?
I've never seen anyone have their minds changed when the opposite side is doing moral grandstanding and talking down to them. What I have seen, is the side getting talked down to completely disregarding what they're being told and diving head first into whatever they're doing or kicking people out of their lives.
Pokimane absolutely is a narcissist and has main character syndrome she can’t stand anyone else doing better than her and she can’t handle being called out for her poor behavior
As a streamer who's mainstay is TH-cam, it took a good bit of thinking before deciding to stream to Kick even as a multicast. I hope to have kick become a rival to twitch in the field of general streaming/personalities rather than gambling.
Nailed it. Only thing I would add is I've had 2 people in my life that went into massive debt over consumerism. When amazon got to the point where you could get items in a couple days my own mom went crazy on it. I swear she got a high from it. We had to cut her credit cards up and she spent the rest of her life trying to pay those off.
I appreciate that you explain the difference between gambling itself not being the problem, but moreso the predatory and unregulated way many online gambling sites operate. I have seen so many people make arguments against Kick that boil down to "it additive SO BAD" when many of these same people drink (and some smoke weed.). Adults consenting to a vice is not the issue. Companies being shady is the problem.
my buddy streamed on twitch for like 4 years and got nowhere because they only want viewers to watch certain streams. when kick started he moved to kick, got actual support from the company, shout outs on tweets, he put in the work like he was doing on twitch for 4 years and has found success on kick. Recently got like 100 gifted subs from drake who was doing a gambling/drinking stream and gifting subs to kick streamers. Instead of keeping $500 of the $1000 he gets to keep $950 too.
Let’s be honest. Someone who used to be the literal marketing face of Twitch on the App Store / Play Store is most likely not gonna talk trash about their paymasters
At the end of the day, more competition is good for everyone. Doesn't matter if you're a huge fanboy/girl of one company or the other. So I hope kick succeeds, if only for that reason alone.
It's as I've said; pick the poison you can stand. And I can't stand the funding from crypto gambling along with Tate being a main stay of the platform. Now I don't think this makes BETTER than anyone going to kick, or think Amazon is a 'good' company. IT's just how I feel about it.
Pokimane claiming moral superiority when she herself has essentially cancelled other people (calling out their sponsors etc.), said the n-word repeatedly (inb4 people say shes Moroccan without understanding Moroccan history and ethnicity), extremely sexist (when she first made an alt account on insta, she excluded any straight men and said various sexist remarks), and last but certainly not least, works for amazon without sensing any irony.
Its so funny seeing Pokimane of all people try to moral and virtue signal over kick vs twitch as if she isn't streaming on the same site that was about to screw her and her friends over 4 times this year
its not like there is any other better site since kick would be pushing gambling streams and die along the way when stake doesnt see the return they want
For me i dont really care that much about the gambling, if I was a popular streamer, id be more concerned about moving to a platform where adin ross is the face of.
To play devil's advocate, I feel like Pokimane isn't grandstanding because she is actively making the choice to not stream on Kick, and thus losing out on a lot of money. Obviously, you can disagree with her reasons for it, but it seems she is making choices based on her genuine beliefs.
Dude you’re fkn funny and I’m glad I have found your channel. You drop this king 👑. Keep being you and real don’t change if not I got to take that crown back lol
The only reason Pokimane is upset is that XQC and she share a relatively large fanbase overlap and with him moving she fears that XQC will take away profits from her. There is now morality to this it is only money.
Kick will probably not last for the long term, since they'll most likely end up with the same issue as twitch, which is not making a profit and constantly spending more than they earn since theyre too focused on growth. Kick has promised too much in terms of the 95/5 split, and the newly announced hourly wage to all streamers. If it's not providing a return on investment for Stake, they may either pull the plug or cut back severely on streamer compensation.
xqc's audience is primarily children, they're going to get gambling ads eventually. It's a totally valid concern. Also didn't you literally say in the previous video that Amazon and Twitch are separate entities even though Twitch is owned by Amazon?
I'm 36 and have gambled 3 times in my entire life. None of them were my personal choice, one was a stag do (bachelor party) day at the races, another was a birthday day at the races, and the third was a casino section at a wedding where we were gifted a set amount of chips each. 2 out of those 3 times I came away with more money than I bet, but I call it pure luck and nothing else. Each time (except the casino time) I set a specific amount in one side that was for a flutter, and winnings went in another pocket. Once I spent my betting pocket, it was over I kept what I had in my winnings pocket. Gambling is something that has never appealed to me, I don't know if it's my defeatist attitude that I'll never win, or my depressive state that starves me of the thrill that others feel. But I can do without gambling, it's pointless as far as I'm concerned.
My issue with Kick is more so the creators and clientele. Not only is it largely composed of CCs that have done some pretty fucked up shit, but its userbase are people that looked at the things those CCs did and were like, "I'm OK with this." Specifically, I've got to call out Train. The dude used SA allegations as a "gotcha." Fucking deplorable. I can't support anything or anyone that looks at someone that trivialized fucking rape and is like, "that's my guy."
So wild that people that skipped education to make more money live streaming, are the ones that end up being the voice for younger generations. “Yes, i have no clue what im talking about, but let me educate you anyway”
If you want to measure it just on that, Amazon is about 500 times more damaging than some online crypto casino. An online crypto casino only negatively impacts the people who play there. Amazon negatively impacts every single person in every single country they operate.
Shouldn’t the argument be that twitch AND kick need to do more to verify that their users at 18+ to be able to access that content. That would completely eliminate most problems, they can do a lot more than “18+” in the title of their stream.
I literally saw someone on Twitter comment under the recent posts of Pokimane, and one person, just for no reason said "I just hate her." That's it. Nothing else. It got liked by other people too. At that moment, I literally checked out mentally about other people's opinions about anyone or anything. I just felt a sense of dread that these people don't really know...Anything. They don't know why they're there, or why it applies to them. They just don't have a reason. I feed into that negativity and want so badly to respond, but I'm only adding fuel to the fire. It's a really sad reality that I/We care more about a person's moral standpoint on something as minuscule as an app, but fail to completely acknowledge the fact that there was a Drunk driver who killed an innocent group of five women. No one cares. The internet, yet again, has shown me that we are just a bunch of bots, spamming relentlessly about how we're so right, and entitled to our opinions, rather than come together as a community, and work on not spreading so much bullshit. It's all that it is. Bullshit. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
The harm from Stake is people agreeing to being scammed trynna cheat the casino. Atleast they arnt holding them hostage for Pennies while still being fired for a restroom break.
I just got done working for amazon...i never pissed in a bottle but i can see it. 12 hour shifts. But you are only allowed to be away from your station for 45 minutes over the entire 12 hour shift. Some stations are about 5 or so minute walks from the nearest restroom and water fountain. So you are looking at atleast a good 15 minutes each time you need to use the bathroom or get water. So thats basically 3 times over 12 hours. Their rates they demand are also insane. For stowing, they expect bare minimum around 350 items per hour. That's 6 items per minute at bare minimum. You will be fired if you don't regularly maintain at least that rate. For decant (unboxers) they expexlct you to unbox at least 50 boxes per hour bare minimum. Tbf there is a 30 min and 45 min breaks. 1 paid and 1 unpaid. But thats still a good 10 hours and 45 minutes with only 3 bathroom breaks allowed. Their warehouses are in fact basically sweat shops.
The crazy thing about Kick being called the Stake platform is that the gambling category fluctuating WILDLY. Right now it's the third most viewed category with only 7k viewers. Twitch has more people in it's gamba categories than Kick does right now.

What people are discussing is the L takes people have against kick.
Said people are trying to take the moral high ground by shitting on every person that streams on kick because the parent company is a gambling company.

Nice to see a glimpse into Mutas real life. Gambling addictions are often so overlooked, and its one of the fastest addictions to punish you and your loved ones. I'm glad to see him bring more awareness to this. Its not taken seriously enough
It is the only addiction where you can not see physical signs, the invisible scar
A quote from a gambler: “Gambling only becomes a problem when you start losing”
Starts jerking to Furry porn? lmao
And whats the worst that can happen to a gambling addict? Maybe he starts committing fraud to continue gambling. He takes out loans, goes into debt. Steals from his wifes bank account. Spends his childs College fund.
Which addiction seems more destructive?
Its like comparing a meth addiction to a weed addiction.

Tbh I’m so sick of the social media in general nowadays. When social media first came around I thought there was so much potential like gee what a great way to show people new perspectives, maybe then we can all be a little more understanding. But nah we skipped all that and went straight for echo chambers, pointless arguments, and for spreading hate ideology. Something’s gotta give eventually.

@@ambiarock590 Yeah, it sucks, but the "race" was kind of a "everyone has to beat this - EVERYONE - and until then and only then, we can end stream" joke race. Pls just call her Poki. Xqc has a good friend named Poke that he streams with a lot and this is confusing.
Damn that’s messed up, streamers are so lame.

I've been a recreational poker player for almost 30 years, and love brick and mortar casinos. Online casinos are a whole different story. I don't trust online casinos, and think they are a huge problem. That said, I have no issues with people streaming on Kick. I'm with you 100%.

Speaking broadly and not specifically to anyone, but if we're gonna advocate to not "feed into addictions" then OnlyFans, Twitch, TH-cam, and all other forums & forms of media should be taken down/stopped being used as well because there's the case of addiction for everything. If we're gonna demonize one thing, we're gonna have to be consistent with our beliefs. The hypocrisy in this entire debate fuckin' floors me lmao

I love to chain smoke cigarettes and get drunk off brandy at 2 in the afternoon, I am aware of the risks associated with it and the addiction potential.

My 2 cents from working in Mergers and Acquisitions I can crunch the numbers on why a $100mm deal makes fiscal sense if wanted
By design, streamers are either intentionally or unintentionally missing the core issue.
The profit off converting one user is way higher
Edit- i did some rudimentary math - for stake to pay off XQCs buyout just from Stake conversion it only needs on just the fundamental tangible level to convert 2% of his one month unique users to pay it off over 20 years. Thats not to mention i extremely lowballed one aspect of the fiscal details to an extreme degree (lowest average casual gambler spend, lowest house edge, which an unregulated casino most likely wont follow, and a shorter window.
The most moral thing to do is avoid both platforms, and any platforms with such issues.

It creates content. Pokimane comments on XQc, AdinRoss streams to his audience, HasanAbi joins in and streams to his audience, the Muta and Charly make TH-cam videos about it. Keeping morality is almost like a non existent myth for trending star streamers: the more controversial and outrageous antics they pull up, the more popularity and money they get in return in today’s messed up media platform market.
Think about the line Pokimane used: "Why would I compromise my morals and stream on another platform that gives me more money when I already have money?"
Dumbass, because loads of other people don't have the money that you have. Imagine someone suggesting hey, you should try shoes or underwear from this new place, its better quality for a more affordable price. And you turning around and saying, "I'm not about to compromise my morals by betraying my brand loyalty. And pfft, I can afford my costlier shoes and underwear, cheapskate!"
Meanwhile both shoes and underwear are made from the same material. Twitch and Kick both run on the AWS platform which is owned by Amazon. Amazon owns Twitch, but it makes more money from the percentage that apps and platforms like Kick make them, because loads of start-ups can pay to use AWS to develop apps and platforms of their own. In the end, Amazon is scamming Pokimane and her rebuttal is, "I'm rich and can afford to be scammed."
Meanwhile the platform she's on will die if they do not respect creators and be more reasonable and fix their practices.
I can’t believe she’s talking about morals when she knowingly endorses para social relationships with her audience
@@valentinegonsalves7322 Ur analogy is not the best tbh... yes they are using aws but that doesnt mean "they are the same". its more like both are made in the same factory but ones material and production cost is covered by owning that factory and using sweatshop labor(amazon) and the other ones is covered by basically stealing money form ppl that dont know better(stake).
The "moral debate" wasnt what they are offering and for how cheaper, but how they made that thing.

Didn't Twitch use big streamers to promote Onlyfans-like sites to their underage audience?
Does pokimane have a same strong position on that?
I think the point muda made was to literally take your own stand on it. Just ignore opinions and stick to your own. That's how it works!🎉
Morality is not a topic these people should "casually" participate in.

TLDR: Both are evil, I picked Twitch as my poison because of nitpicky things.
Some people online were saying that streaming on Kick is also supporting Amazon because they use AWS so you'd be supporting Amazon + all the bad-sides of Kick. Thoughts?

Its so funny seeing Pokimane of all people try to moral and virtue signal over kick vs twitch as if she isn't streaming on the same site that was about to screw her and her friends over 4 times this year
its not like there is any other better site since kick would be pushing gambling streams and die along the way when stake doesnt see the return they want
Doesn't that make it the opposite of virtue signaling?
For me i dont really care that much about the gambling, if I was a popular streamer, id be more concerned about moving to a platform where adin ross is the face of.
To play devil's advocate, I feel like Pokimane isn't grandstanding because she is actively making the choice to not stream on Kick, and thus losing out on a lot of money. Obviously, you can disagree with her reasons for it, but it seems she is making choices based on her genuine beliefs.
Yeah.. no, she has an active contract with twitch. Not to mention Amazon is arguably worse than stake.
Her beliefs don't hold up against her own actions, that's why people mock her for them
Dude you’re fkn funny and I’m glad I have found your channel. You drop this king 👑. Keep being you and real don’t change if not I got to take that crown back lol
The only reason Pokimane is upset is that XQC and she share a relatively large fanbase overlap and with him moving she fears that XQC will take away profits from her. There is now morality to this it is only money.
Poki's jealousy has turned into a pair of clown shoes
Kick will probably not last for the long term, since they'll most likely end up with the same issue as twitch, which is not making a profit and constantly spending more than they earn since theyre too focused on growth. Kick has promised too much in terms of the 95/5 split, and the newly announced hourly wage to all streamers. If it's not providing a return on investment for Stake, they may either pull the plug or cut back severely on streamer compensation.
Nope gamba bring enough to keep it afloat by using kick purely as an ad.
@@killemkillua and if kick is losing them money by not effectively advertising stake, they may as well pull the plug
xqc's audience is primarily children, they're going to get gambling ads eventually. It's a totally valid concern.
Also didn't you literally say in the previous video that Amazon and Twitch are separate entities even though Twitch is owned by Amazon?
kick doesnt have ads, they do featurw gambling streams all over the homepage though
Not only is it largely composed of CCs that have done some pretty fucked up shit, but its userbase are people that looked at the things those CCs did and were like, "I'm OK with this."
Specifically, I've got to call out Train. The dude used SA allegations as a "gotcha." Fucking deplorable. I can't support anything or anyone that looks at someone that trivialized fucking rape and is like, "that's my guy."
Moral police is so funny to me, especially when it comes from Pokimane 😂
Pokimane didnt care about nothing she said, she was jealous that the 1 streamer she hates most, xqc, got offered 100m and not her
So wild that people that skipped education to make more money live streaming, are the ones that end up being the voice for younger generations.
By far my favourite TH-camr, mutta’s no bullshit, straight to the chase.
Shouldn’t the argument be that twitch AND kick need to do more to verify that their users at 18+ to be able to access that content. That would completely eliminate most problems, they can do a lot more than “18+” in the title of their stream.
Twitch streamers thinking they're preaching the Gospel or something and not just trying to infuse a moral component into glorified console wars. 😆
I wouldn't trust what half of them say, they probably don't even know how to use a paint brush sitting at a computer all day.
If the streamer is not gambling on kick, it's still like putting a playground next to a casino that doesn't check anyone's age
Twitch is a brothel that doesn’t check ids. While paying them blood money from slave workers
The harm from Stake is people agreeing to being scammed trynna cheat the casino. Atleast they arnt holding them hostage for Pennies while still being fired for a restroom break.
i agree with you. If the streamer is not gambling on Twitch, it's still like putting a playground next to a casino that doesn't check anyone's age
I'm glad people like you and Asmon exist on the internet,. The way most people are acting bleeds jealousy.
funny he had the opposite stance just a year ago, but now his friends have kick deals so its ok
I swear to god when Pokimane looks at other people she's like "oh these poor morally bankrupt souls"
10:50 this is so true. thanks for saying what other people won't mutahar.
The crazy thing about Kick being called the Stake platform is that the gambling category fluctuating WILDLY. Right now it's the third most viewed category with only 7k viewers. Twitch has more people in it's gamba categories than Kick does right now.
pokimane is basically just like the twitter freaks, that somehow accidently got famous and its just insane how far she rode off the backs of simps
