Question: what do you think about the theory that Bloodraven is not only watching Bran since infancy, as well as on the day he climbs and falls, but also that he controlled the crows atop the tower and made the noise that made Cersei open her eyes? (Bran didn't _think_ he made a noise, but because Cersei suddenly looks right at him, he surmises that he must have) If this was so, Bloodraven is responsible for Bran's crippling. It's a horrible thing, but also exactly the type of utilitarian move he'd make - sacrifice someone's wellbeing for a higher cause.
The idea that Bloodraven fixates on a single threat and neglects the rest of the realm is also an ironic twist on the “thousand eyes and one” line describing him. He has a thousand eyes to gain information, but he only really perceives one thing.
I think the dire wolf went through the door at the bottom of the well at the Nightfort with the Nights-watchman that ran from the Others in the Prologue of GOT.
Vengeful Black Brothers seeing Bloodraven at the wall:"heheh, well well well" *twiddles a dagger suggestively* "if it isn't Lord Bloodraven stuck up here with us lowly scum" Bloodraven : "I'm not stuck here with YOU!" *touches the hilt of Darksister as the ravens teeth close in around him* "You're stuck here with ME!"
Love the Bloodraven stream. What an interesting and complicated character. I wish one the GOT spin-off shows would be the life and times of Bloodraven. Who could play Brynden Rivers?
The talk about Bloodraven getting sent to the wall has me thinking about how small the Nights Watch is in the current story, and what that means. One possibility is A Kingdom at Peace. Like, after the Greyjoy rebellion, alllllll the lords who chaff at the Iron Throne’s rule see they will be crushed, post-haste.
One of the reasons BR might have "rushed" the Others return, if he did that, is because he is not only a greenseer but also a target, so he gets acces to other prophesies that involve a target being the ultimate savior. In the current timeline, the only target left are Jon and Dany, so the probability of the family bloodline continued on is pretty dim, he'll even the baratheons are going extinct. That seems like the in universe explanation, also while I think BloodRaven was kind of improvised by GRRM, I think is likely that he was planning for Bran to learn about his power from a mentor, maybe Joje/Howland Reed, a wildling Greenseer or a cotf.
egg didn't double-cross blood raven i think blood raven knew that he had to be punished for his actions because it would set doubt in egg's rule. I mean blood raven knew he was going to be pushing his luck I believe. but he thought he needed to kill the blackfyre for "the better good". but I think he was fine with going to the wall because it was necessary or else egg would look like he had no honer. I mean him and the raven's teeth going up just seems like it's a new chapter to blood ravens future. he needed egg to do this not to go to the wall but for egg to be looked at as a noble king
A theory that I've come up with: Craster is Maegor Targaryen, the missing infant son of Prince Aerion Targareyen and Daenora Targaryen. Maegor was born in around 232 AC; looking at Craster's portrayal in the TV show, this would make him around the same age. Craster's official back story states: "Craster is the bastard son of a man of the Night's Watch and a wildling woman from the village of Whitetree. His father abandoned his mother after Craster was conceived, and when his mother tried to bring him to Castle Black, she was chased off by members of the Watch. His father's name is never mentioned." It's interesting that the time frame when Craster would have been born the maester at the Wall would have been a young Aemon Targaryen (baby Maegor's uncle) and the Lord Commander was Brynden Rivers (baby Maegor's great great uncle). I'm proposing that one of them, if not both of them somehow smuggled their nephew beyond the wall and left him to be raised by the wildlings. I don't know how/ why they'd have felt the need to do this, as this time period isn't something George RR Martin has written about yet; I'm hoping we get to find out in one of the future Dunc & Egg novels what happened when Aemon and Brynden went to the Wall. Seems odd the Craster was born around the same time this Targaryen baby who was heir to the throne went missing. Also, this *could* shed light on why Craster keeps his bloodline pure by marrying his daughters and why Craster needs to do this in order for The Night King to turn the babies into White Walkers, because they have next to 100% pure Valyrian blood (or at least the mixture of Valyrian and first me blood).
1:04:00 Jesus, the Wildlings already have tales of Starks and Nights Watchmen as tyrants and dark witch-kings, could you imagine the tales they have about Bloodraven, an actual dark sorcerer….
Am I wrong to think that the three eyes crow was an already pre-existing entity that took over BR's body at a certain point, and not that BR manifested and became the three eyed crow through weirwood or some other means of gaining power ? Just makes me want to know what the goal of the entity are and what the nature of it is, how did it come to be or was it always there. Does it exist if not connected to a body like BR or bran, or is always there lingering in the weirwoods waiting for someone to greensee ?
The fact that the author really loves Dune and Bloodraven has had failed apprentices has given me an idea i don’t think heard you consider: who says he succeeds in whatever he’s trying to do with Bran? The parallels you make between Bran and Paul Leto Atrides are interesting when you consider Paul was mostly an accident. The Bene Genesct or whatever those space witches are called basically want to bring about some space messiah they could control only have bitten off more than they could chew Similarly, whether Bloodraven wants to raise a pupil or a new meat sack to skin change into, considering the running theme that readers seem to think Bloodraven is a lot more competent than he really is, what reason do we have to believe he really does succeed with Bran. Whatever his reason, I’d love it if Bloodraven’s last thought when he TRULY sees what he’s created is “WTF have I done”
He's a force of nature NOW. Is there anything left of the man? Is there enough to want the boy who succeeds him to remain human, at least enough for him (Bran) to govern in a wise and balanced way?
@JoeMagician the way that you were talking about blood raven with time travel that a minute is a minute the trees see time as everything happening at the same time
if i know i need to leave the 7 kingdoms maybe i look for ways to spend my life on a goal always knowing i can take the black killing the blackfyre maybe was the first attempt at such a trade
N+A definitely=J!! It goes way back in an early Kat chapter in game of thrones and would also make sense so that John can wield The Sword of the Morning! I’ve never herd a quote from the books except when master Amin felt johns face and said it felt like eggs ..
@JoeMagician did grrm even think of having blood raven or anyone deal with Craster you have to think about the idea that he overlooked that. like a lot of other things???
Maybe Blood ravin can’t swap out into another body like bran can with ho door so maybe blood ravin wants brain to take dark sister as ho door the tall and dunks great grand son shall use dark sister the sword forged by the dark emperor of the past from a dark comet!
No? They're cousins. Bloodraven and Daeron are half brothers, Maekar and BR are....half uncle and nephew. Or just cousins. Br and Egg call each other cousin as well.
A prequel centered around the life of Brynden Rivers could if correctly done be the most interesting and compelling (and dark).

If anyone's wondering how Bloodraven took the pregnant dire wolf south of the wall, he almost certainly went across the Bridge Of Skulls.
I think the dire wolf went through the door at the bottom of the well at the Nightfort with the Nights-watchman that ran from the Others in the Prologue of GOT.

I cackled thinking about Three-Fingered Hobb using Dark Sister. Like, dang, that frozen meat is tough tough if it needs Valyrian steel.

Tycho of the iron bank of bravos has a great hat. Cheers comrade for the content And glad to see you survived that storm that hit over there.
How many hats does Tycho have? Three hats in one.
Wish I caught this live!

I've heard the theory Aerys i was gay, and Daemon Blackfyre ii is most certainly gay. I wonder if theres a reason Aerys i didn't want Daemon killed?
You'll never go broke in Easteros selling awesomely silly hats!

i bet they want First Men Blood - Valyria is all fire element.

I think of Gandalf and all his names re: Bloodraven
He's a force of nature NOW.
Is there anything left of the man? Is there enough to want the boy who succeeds him to remain human, at least enough for him (Bran) to govern in a wise and balanced way?
As we see with nymeria you don’t need to warg the pack just the alpha so he could control a pack for sure.
Late, I'm late!! Damn missed it live! Australia!
Good ole Bloodraven, the 3 eyed crow.
You installed irrigation? Are you not having the wettest summer in living memory?
I didn't know how much rain we'd be getting when I put it in, no
Excellent💯💯💯
👍🏻 Lovely stream!
this makes me wish the CK3 GOT mod is out already! you have to do more of those types of content those were fun :D
One day it'll be out....someday
@JoeMagician the way that you were talking about blood raven with time travel that a minute is a minute the trees see time as everything happening at the same time

If Blood Raven & Aemon were at the wall at the same time for 20yrs…
I feel like there should be some books/novelas about that 🤩
@JoeMagician did grrm even think of having blood raven or anyone deal with Craster you have to think about the idea that he overlooked that. like a lot of other things???
B-RIZZLE!
Hi Joe
I think he had someone in mind and it didn't work out.
1:06:30 Enders game!

@@JoeMagician kind of adorable
Surprisingly handsome gentlemen. Honestly... You're a pretty man.
where he fails in hats he wins in sigils and house/animal etc archetypes and imagery.
Maybe Blood ravin can’t swap out into another body like bran can with ho door so maybe blood ravin wants brain to take dark sister as ho door the tall and dunks great grand son shall use dark sister the sword forged by the dark emperor of the past from a dark comet!
next book........ He is too busy with T.V shows. its depressing
If Bloodraven is Maekar's cousin then you must be implying that Aegon the unworthy is not the father of Daeron🧐
No? They're cousins. Bloodraven and Daeron are half brothers, Maekar and BR are....half uncle and nephew. Or just cousins. Br and Egg call each other cousin as well.
Anyway Bran stays up in the cave but becomes king as ho door
