@@MrSpocksbrain I hear you. It's only $10 for me here in Chicago. These days, jeans are way to expensive for me to be conducting trail and error on a pant of jeans. I am excellent at a lot of things, but being a tailor is not one of them. I know how to stay in my lane and stick to what I do best.
@@MisterMikeReal Totally! I'm in Australia and Levi's here are over $100 a pair. I don't have the patience or the talent required to hem them myself. I freely admit that. Although H&M jeans, I've just discovered, fit me rather well. May I ask how much "break" you like in your jeans? I'm 5'9" with short legs so I go for no break or slightly negative.
Done a little sewing myself, self taught, and this is the first time I've realized that I need to start with an anchoring stitch, instead of just at the end.
Excellent video Antonio! I've been wanting to learn how to sew back on buttons using a shank too. Though a needle without a thimble makes for a bloody mess when I try to use it!
For those who cross their legs whilst sitting, remember to do so (sit down and cross your legs) before stitching so that your hem isn't sitting halfway up your calf when you're done.
Me! I will alter clothes occasionally, it's not worth having a machine taking up space and learning how to use. Having a general skill like this is useful. It's interesting that you value your time so highly given that you are watching a tutorial that you have no interest in

Ummm...
I just want to take this opportunity to say thank you Sue ( My tailor) for all that you do.
I'm leaving this to the professionals. 😄
Yep. I pay my seamstress $15 to hem my jeans (I like them slightly shorter than in the video). I'd totally screw things up otherwise.

@@MrSpocksbrain Hello to Australia, I go with little to no break as well, although I am taller.
@@MisterMikeReal Nice. I feel like it's the best look. Fabric pooling at the ankles doesn't look good on anyone. And greetings to the windy city!

thanks. i have an interview today, and my pants were too long :) i did the first method, and the hem doesn’t poke out a lot
Thanks for this. I have always used method two, but will experiment with method one.
Thank you for this great tutorial. Just followed method one to take up jeans for my daughter and it worked a treat. She's very happy with the result.😊
Thank you! Using the second method, I can salvage older jeans that frayed at the bottom from being two long originally.
Excellent. I always hem my own trousers and can do a brilliant job, but wasn't sure how to hem jeans without losing the orange stitching at the bottom
Video is well produced. Instructions are to the point. Excellent graphics. What type of thread and needle should be used for jeans?
Great video Antonio
Love it
Keep up the good work
A big shout out to Thomas as well
Thanks Mohd!
Wow bro, I have so many. I’m gonna get this skillset
Sounds great

Thank you very much !
If I have to do it myself I use No 1
For second method no double thread will look much better...
This good but please remove the music, or at least turn it down. I want to concentrate on the instructions.

Only legends know that the thumbnail has changed
If the thumbnail shows what you think is a good fit then I'm not watching
Who nowadays has the time or the inclination to sit and hand sew a new hem on their jeans? Pretty much NOBODY!!
@@gg41r me lol that's why I'm here 😂

why not ? Hemming a pair of jeans takes me around half hour max. I don't think "inclination", I think what has to be done. Just like when I'm at work.
So... The thumb has nothing do to with the video you actually see. Classic shameless clickbait. Why I am not surprised?
AHHH you sissy, wearing HIGH WATERS! Wheres the flood? Pants are supposed to be long. HIGH WATERS!!
@michaelcraig9449 if you are tripping over your jeans then they are too long
