I also hated the new music, it sucked ass, it would be been cool to try to go revolutionary and add a futuristic twist to the nice songs of far cry five but no they ditched it and made it the most ear bleeding music I’ve ever heard in my life
"Far Cry: New Dawn is well-executed." No, it really wasn't. It was a $40 alpha test box and it felt like one too, with a tacked on fan-fiction tier story to make it more enticing to anyone that played 5. The rarity system was unneeded and EXTREMELY limiting, the enemy scaling was downright awful, the super powers came out of nowhere, the world was even emptier and smaller than 5, and the stealth was still bad, essentially once again boiling down to use the bow or risk getting caught. Far Cry 3 had the ability to drag corpses back around corners and hide them in bushes, why they got rid of that, who the fuck knows. The only saving grace that game had, if you can even call it a saving grace, was that the enemy AI was slightly less stupid by virtue of a longer detection radius. New Dawn was a piece of shit, and quite possibly a scam.
What??? You can pick up bodies. And you can use a sniper rifle I beat the entire game with using silenced weapons. The map was beautiful in both games and it was nice to see recurring locations and characters. Ruined by a nuclear war. And the notes scattered around that told a story made me tear up from some of the sadder ones. Also the arcade elements was a nice fresh feature and showed you how much damage you do and is more sastifying. Just like dooms enemy degrading and the ability to redo outposts was amazing
@@dtweeb128 that was one of the things i disliked.. The grind for material but that's not a major problem... Huge problem was the nonsense story and the rpg guns and enemies
I absolutely loved Far Cry 5, something about the soundtrack and gameplay made it feel good. It was one of the best games i have ever had the pleasure of playing. I really wanted something like new dawn to come around to expand on the story and characters just a bit, but alas, i will not be spending my money on the Far Cry franchise for the forseeable future.
That dam music at the end. FarCry 5 was one of my favorite games because of Seed. I would think about how something like this probably could and might be happening. And that song, always plays in my head.
There’s a line in fallout 4, it triggers when you climb to the the top of the highest tower of the corevega assembly with cods worth as your follower which you don’t even have to do. Once you make it to the top some piano keys play, and your looking over the vast apocalyptic landscape, and cods worth says something along the lines of “see, sir even in the apocalypse there is still beauty in this world” I bring this up because that line kinda made me just pause for a minute, and stand there. It made me feel something. In far cry new dawn, despite it being the apocalypse, the whole world is beautiful, and filled with flowers and bright colors. It almost appears better than the world before Joseph seed dropped the nuke. The writers could’ve done something with that, they could’ve said something about how the world was bad, and the only way to fix it was to destroy everything. They could’ve used the contrast between what an apocalypse is supposed to look like, and what it actually does look like to create emotion for the player, but they didn’t, and the game had no emotion. All the potential for a fantastic story was there, but it was wasted, and that sucks
Fr I enjoyed farCry 5 but new dawn was a pathetic new low with hella limited guns no new game plus same map and very uninteresting villains imo I kinda dug the whole seed part of these last two games tho especially with how 5 ended and he was right all along but they better not somehow fuck this one up especially after they get Giancarlo Esposito on board
As someone who played and finished far cry new dawn multiple times, I say it isn't in any way 'not worth your time'. Like you said the gameplay and takedown animations where arguably the best in the franchise and I do understand that it doesn't at all feel like a typical apocalypse waste land, it feels like a brand new- almost unexpected surprise of a setting. I encourage giving it an open minded try seeing as it is basically a follow up to what happens after Far Cry 5's good ending. It has a great 'New-Eden' lore that makes sense and tells a concluding story to satisfy the people who loved Far Cry 5 and New Dawn. I disagree with what your saying in some areas but that doesn't make what your saying any less true, and in a way, it's what makes all of your videos that much more riveting. I too would have loved a Far Cry New Dawn where dogs replace all NPCs. Thanks.
“It’s a good game, it’s almost great, but it’s not worth your time” This here made me your fan. I don't know how but you said exactly how I feel from these games, which I didn't even realized it.
I personally loved FC4 more than FC3, eventhough FC3 is a better game than 4. Something about it just gets me. For instance, in your inventory, there's a note Ajay's mother wrote for him before she passed. And that note has a 200 price tag on it. It's worthless compared to other stuff that sell WAY more, but I didn't sell it for my entire time playing the game. I know that there isn't any reward for keeping it at all, but yet I still did. It just feels, *right* somehow. And everytime I open up the game after a while, I still smile knowing that the note is still there.
Ghost of Tsushima did an amazing job getting me attached to the horse you choose. He was a white horse named Sora, and I cried what happened to him at the end.
People don't complain about Libertarianism in Bioshock because it's a game about Objectivism. The main villain is literally named after Ayn Rand. Founding a city to benefit "the great" and then setting up strict rules about what people can do and think in it - including banning charity or unions as 'parasites' and saying people can't freely associate - is not remotely Libertarian, as I understand it. Maybe there is some criticism of Libertarianism, but the Objectivism stuff is not exactly subtle.
In my opinion, Far Cry 5 and New Dawn are the worst far cry games, and they are the only ones without a voiced character Far Cry 3 was the best game, the enviroment was beautiful and the story was fucking amazing, and who doesn't love burning weed fields with a flamethrower with fucking skrillex blasting in the background? it was fucking amazing But what did any of these two do? Far Cry 5 was the most boring far cry game I've ever played, and I gave up after 30 minutes of playing new dawn, they just don't pull you in, they are so boring and repetitive, I feel this "open world" trend is killing these games, becacuse they are caring less about the story and more about you doing whatever you want, which is fun for like, 10 minutes
Funny i fell the opposite, i really don't like far cry 3 because how it restricts the player choice of playstyle and almost every mission puts you in a linear path, i also don't like how the story is pretty much shoved at your throat when the previous game had alot of details in the story but only those interested in it would see. Far cry 5 reminds me alot of far cry 2. Both games let you conplete missions the way you want and with the playstyle you want, both have silent protagonists, both have that feeling of freedom. My only problem is that far cry 5 story is shoved at your throat just like far cry 3 but this time your character doesn't talk or show any emotion, Far cry 2 mc didn't talk either but he showed emotions with his gestures and he had a journal where we could read his thoughts about the situation. Far cry 5 mc has nothing.
Far cry 4 had my favorite gameplay and 3 had my favorite story. I have to get to 2 some day I just haven't yet because my favorite part of far cry is stealth and bows
just the music at the end there and honestly any far cry music makes me get super nostalgic and emotional. The farcry new dawn is one of my favourite farcry games but i guess thats because when i got the game on the first day it came out i just wanted some good killing gameplay and all the connection i got from it was because i played far cry 5
this game was tragic because it was following Farcry 5 which, in my opinion, is the second best Farcry, although lots of people regard it as their first
Personaly, i LOVED far cry new dawn. Not becouse of the story (it was a hot dumpster fire with the tears of orphans being used as fuel) but becouse of the sweet sweet G.A.M.E.P.L.A.Y.. I loved the new light RPG mechanics and wepons. I also loved the missions where you went on missions all over america with da choppa.
im honestly hate when people love video games that i hate, but for some reason you kinda changed that, you admitted to the story being garbage, but still enjoyed the gameplay.
@@masonbain7098 yup. Thats becouse of the fact that i see the story of a game as the secondary part of the game. For me gameplay is a lot more important (though i will admit i still LOVE games like the walking dead that are mostly story based games). I see games like that becouse when you play a game with shity gameplay but incredible story, you get bored of the story after like 2 playtroughs. While if a game has a shity story and great gameplay it gets a lot more replay value.
it's like wet dog corp vr, you become emotionally invested in washing the dogs as soon as possible because the game heavely implies that dirty dogs are killed. so you move your arms like a madman trying to save them all making risky moves with soap grenades.
I will never replay Far Cry New Dawn because of the save game. I have upgraded my Rank 1 pistol until the damage become 4K and thr amount of hours I put in Far Cry New Dawn is 1/8 of Far Cry 5
So I watched this video and the one on Far Cry 3's story and well... THANK YOU for acknowledging that the story of Far Cry 3 is actually really good! Thought the years on the internet I have seen to many people not give the game's story enough credit for how it toys and subverts video game and FPS conventions. Far Cry 3, unlike so many video games, makes a real effort to make you question if what you are doing is right and gives the player character a fucking character arc. Do I think that Far Cry 3's story is a master piece in storytelling? no and I do have issues with it but it is still by far the best plot in any of the Far Cry games and it is disappointing that no other game in the series has manege to top or even match it. And yeah I agree that Far Cry New Dawn has killed whatever heart the franchise had left. Honestly I was already disappointed with Far Cry 4 and Far Cry 5's ending and New Dawn destroyed whatever investment I had in Far Cry. Now I honestly could not care less what Ubisoft does with Far Cry as I have accepted that Far Cry 3 was something of a lighting in a bottle in terms of how it merged its gameplay with the story.
Merging game play and story is a difficult thing to do, and I honestly now question whether or not 3's strength in that area was just a complete accident. 4 made it clear that ludonarrative harmony wasn't a big deal to them, 5 showed a clear downward trend, and New Dawn shows that they don't care about the story at all anymore. The more time that passes, the more it starts to look like, yep, Far Cry 3 was lightning in a bottle. I think 5 is when I started to think the same thing. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the videos. I feel that Far Cry 3 isn't talked about enough and was one of the best games of its generation. I think it's sort of ignored because of the overexposure of the franchise, leading to its core gameplay loop becoming tiring and bland.
@@DJPeachCobbler: Thanks for responding to my comment. Hopefully a few years down the line people will look back on Far Cry 3 with the same appreciation and nostalgia as Far Cry 2. By the way, in case you have not heard of it, if you want to play Far Cry 3 in a immersive way that is a little closer to something like Stalker, then try out Ziggy's Mod. It is a total conversion mod that changes the game in interesting ways that make it less hand-holding and more challenging while still mentioning the atmosphere and core mechanics of Jason Brody's Big Jungle Adventure.
@@gabrielpadro5589 that's sounds interesting, I'm busy playing Ruiner right now, but I'll check it out. Far Cry 3 could definitely do with less hand-holding
Tbh I've wanted to make a video on that for awhile. I like it a lot, as I grew up watching 80s action movies, but the gameplay disappointed me. It's not bad, it's just Far Cry 3, but it's just not as carefree and aggressive as I feel the story demands. Idk it's a minor complaint, but I do wish it was a bit more over-the-top in the gameplay department
The fact that New Dawn is like 5 but without all the things that made it great could have actually worked if you’d played as the Deputy in ND, because that way the protagonist is an older person whose struggle with mortality is vividly depicted by the deteriorating conditions around him, which is something we can all relate to.
When people say that hate politics they mean that they hate when the game pushes one side on you and it comes off as tacky abd biased even if you agree with what it has to say. Boiling it down to "eww i dont like gays" misses the bigger issue of not having a real character and some one just cramming a 2d gay person in to pander and make sure no one can criticize the game by using gays as a shield.
Lmao what a shit take. No actually political game doesnt pick sides. Political themes in games arent debates. We also know its almost entirely complaining about lgbtq+ or racial representation because nobody cries abouy muh politicals for games like bioshock, mgs, nier, fallout, spec ops the line, death stranding etc. All but fallout dont offer anything but one narrative. And even fallout is still consistent about being anti capitalism and anti war. Also characters other than white straight men existing isnt pushing anything the fact you think it does says a lot about you.
@@raze_ packing a real small brain over here. What gives you the right to tell me what I or anyone else thinks? Fallout nv is a debate or do you disagree? Bioshock tries to warn of a future warning of what unchecked capitalism leads to. You show a disgusting amount of ignorance and it's this type of thinking that keeps real discussion off the table. Pull your head out of your ass
@@raze_ Because they have subtlety and don't beat you over the head with the morals of the story. They show you scenes and let you think for yourself not say "capitalsm's bad y'all" and call foul when people call them out on it. The difference is heavy handed and intended to be a selling point before the game is sold like how Disney keeps releasing with their first gay character in [increasingly specific medium] for the 10th time.
Far cry new dawn is the best far cry game in my opinion, if you're playing only for the story then you're playing it wrong, there are a butt load of vehicles and guns to have fun with. Get into the crossbreed of a mustang and a camaro, listen to music and drive with timber in the passenger seat and then run across the occasional road pirate and blow them up with an explosive arrow from your slingshot. Scavenge a base for fun and loot to make a new vehicle or weapon. There is an unlimited amount of things to do in this game and I really think that the people who don't like it should give it another try, I mean after all you did pay for it. That's not even to mention how absolutely beautiful the game is scenery wise. The thousands of pink flowers, beautiful sunsets/sunrises, mountains and trees make the game even better. I also think that them using the same map was a great idea, it provides a longer story from what everyone thought was finished in far cry five. It's like chewing gum, after a bit of chewing, you think you're done until you pop in another piece of gum and all of a sudden it's minty and refreshing again. It provided another story with the continuation of a previous one. I honestly thing that this game is one of my favorites. Again, this is my opinion but if you don't like it, just give it another go, maybe it'll change your perspective

Far Cry: New Dawn did some really cool and new things that were really good. I liked being able to retake bases but I felt the resource gathering was tedious.
I played New Dawn a ton last year and I remember always saying to myself about how the game was absolutely terrible but still somehow strangely fun. I never understood how it managed it but this terrible game was a great experience for me

*TESTY FESTY!!!*
I also hated the new music, it sucked ass, it would be been cool to try to go revolutionary and add a futuristic twist to the nice songs of far cry five but no they ditched it and made it the most ear bleeding music I’ve ever heard in my life
"Far Cry: New Dawn is well-executed."
No, it really wasn't.

THIS VIDEO IS SLAMMIN JAMMIN, this is the first time I have commented on a video in like a year bc of how good this is.

That dam music at the end. FarCry 5 was one of my favorite games because of Seed. I would think about how something like this probably could and might be happening. And that song, always plays in my head.

Not gonna lie. The ending of this video made me sad.

The detail, effort, and commentary in the video are excellent, instant sub from me 👍
I'm just catching up with all of your work and it's great!
I stumbled on your content, and i love it, keep up the amazing work brother.
There’s a line in fallout 4, it triggers when you climb to the the top of the highest tower of the corevega assembly with cods worth as your follower which you don’t even have to do. Once you make it to the top some piano keys play, and your looking over the vast apocalyptic landscape, and cods worth says something along the lines of “see, sir even in the apocalypse there is still beauty in this world”
I bring this up because that line kinda made me just pause for a minute, and stand there.
The Farcry 6 trailer had more personality than all of New Dawn
Fr I enjoyed farCry 5 but new dawn was a pathetic new low with hella limited guns no new game plus same map and very uninteresting villains imo I kinda dug the whole seed part of these last two games tho especially with how 5 ended and he was right all along but they better not somehow fuck this one up especially after they get Giancarlo Esposito on board
That scene with Joseph Seed and the heli radio... damn.

*CRYING INTENSIFIES*
Thanks.
“It’s a good game, it’s almost great, but it’s not worth your time”
This here made me your fan. I don't know how but you said exactly how I feel from these games, which I didn't even realized it.
I think they oughta do what Blood Dragon did and whatever setting they do, just embrace the fun crazy unrealistic nature.
Should of put a spoil warning my dude. 😒

In my opinion, Far Cry 5 and New Dawn are the worst far cry games, and they are the only ones without a voiced character
Far Cry 3 was the best game, the enviroment was beautiful and the story was fucking amazing, and who doesn't love burning weed fields with a flamethrower with fucking skrillex blasting in the background? it was fucking amazing
But what did any of these two do?

I’m still playing Far Cry 5. I’ve replayed the campaign about twenty times. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve replayed New Dawn.

@@DJPeachCobbler And THIS what you described could a sequel improve! ;)

The fact that New Dawn is like 5 but without all the things that made it great could have actually worked if you’d played as the Deputy in ND, because that way the protagonist is an older person whose struggle with mortality is vividly depicted by the deteriorating conditions around him, which is something we can all relate to.
Thank my Ex-- otherwise, I wouldn't have found you and subbed.
New Dawn is what happens when you get the division 2 rip away everything that was good about it and make it pink
