Fun video! I have this console in both my 2002 and 2003 Rangers. My 2003 is a manual transmission, but in 2002 Ford offered a manual transmission in like 2% of the Explorers that year, and they have a center tray that has an opening for the shift lever. I got lucky and found one in the local junkyard. I've had it installed since 2015 and I love the console. As soon as I picked up my 2002 Ranger last year, I went out to the junkyard and bought another console for it as well. Haha.
Just got my 04 center console to install on my 01 sport trac! I've been waiting to find one to make this build, I hope to get this done sometime this week! My console is the first Gen console that had the weird bag under the lid (that's broken) I can't wait for the extra 12v plugs and air vents!! Heck yeah!
With your rear air vents mod, do you need to use the face and floor vent mixed air setting to have air coming out for the front seat and backseat passengers at the same time?
Okay I have an 05 model that doesn't have power seat, the problem I have with a seat that they will not reclined after them apart rolled around in the yard for a half-a-day grease them all them and they still don't recline
How many of the sheets of ABS plastic did you use to cover that gap? Will one do it? I got the same type of console at a junkyard yesterday and need to do the same thing.

You have an uncanny ability to make videos about projects I'm considering for my 01 ST. I think you convinced me to get LEDs in the bed. Console swap looks like a good one too, but it looks like mine is different in the 01, theres no gap between the console and the part underneath the radio/HVAC.

You think I could do this on a 98 Explorer? The interior in mine is pretty much the exact same in the 1st gen sport trac's. I have the console in the XLT that goes all the way to the dash.

Glad I found this vid. Currently there are 60/40 seats in my 04 Ranger. I have nabbed some buckets off Craig's so I am hoping to use that same console. However on the tran hump near the dash there is a computer gizmo which has me worried. Any thoughts or wisdom bits? Regardless liked.
I do not blame you one bit for replacing that console 😂 I actually didn’t know the ‘04 Explorer console fit in these trucks! When I did my swap I used a ‘01 Explorer since they were on the same chassis as our trucks, good video man! Hope you and your family are staying safe!
Hey Roast_Tirez!!!!. Wazzup my Fellow Sport Trac Owner. The console is a good fit, and a super nice upgrade than what I had. A little ABS plastic bending is the only real tricky part. Just Cut the ABS plastic to size, heat up with a torch on the back side and bend it to desired shape over a 2X4. Cheers!!!!!

Those short box consoles leave a little to be desired lol, I will say if I knew about this fitting when I did my swap I would’ve done it, the cup holders in my ‘01 console don’t fit the drinks I get lol, unless it’s a large from Wendy’s which is rare since I get sick off that much soda lol, I like the little touches you did on that ABS Plastic too! Gives a little more personalization which I’m a fan of! Keep killing it my dude, maybe one of these days one of us will be traveling and we can get the Tracs together for a cool vid lol

@@yeahrightmate well cant please them all. I think it looks titties and has way more storage/ functions than the previous one. Also the armrest is 100 times better than any stock sport trac center consol.
@@munnday86 I guess some peoples standards are a lot less then others and storage is more then the previous but no more then a stock Sports trac that would have fitted properly.

Thank you for the compliment. No trouble with the fuses. I taped into the cigarette lighter power. Make sure that has power first. Then check the cigarette little outlets for power.

I have never seen anyone else with a full size explorer center console. Some sport trac do come with a full console. But never seen one from a full size Explorer swapped.

You should have looked around for the right consul that fits up under the part where you made that plastic bit, my 02 goes all the way up with no gap.
