But I'm not sure how the latest Model Y would perform because Tesla always does minor updates

Plenty of people in my subdivision don't even qualify for the tax credit yet the Tesla is what they are picking because it offers a ton of car for the money. The Macan doesn't offer a whole lot more for almost double the price. Especially when the refreshed Model Y comes, it will be a difficult ask to pay 85K for Macan comparably equipped to a Model Y. New highland models 3 is excellent and feels like a proper German competitor. The refreshed model Y should be improved significantly. Not to the Macan level but I'd argue close enough to where the main reason you're paying for the Macan is badge or other subjective reasons. Especially because it's rumored the Model Y comes with a larger battery better performance, etc in addition to the Model 3 highland upgrades.

Lightning pro power onboard charger should be another tool in your arsenal just in case Lucid or CT isn't available. For these kinda tests, more options to avoid a costly tow truck makes a lot of sense.
Consider getting an EcoFlow delta pro ultra. I’ve been using it for 10 months to charge my hummer. Get the head unit with 2 batteries, that would be 12kw and can discharge at 7300w.

We drove a Macan Turbo on an unlimited German Autobahn. At 4 a.m.. At 250 km/h mostly. After 80 km 😮 we were down to 9%. It took 0.5 Hours. Then we had to recharge. The car, and my nerves 😊.

Max I get in MYLR23 w/20's only gets 230 to 250 highway, my Blazer EV RWD gets 300 to 340 mile highway range at 75mph Seem to always take the Blazer on 240 to 300 mile trips so we never dcfc and thats a few times a month. New Model Y needs to go 350 plus highway at 75mph

The Lucid they were using is really the best option. No matter what any of the other cars are going to do the Lucid can follow behind and still have charge to give.
I didn’t test the burmester. But the Bose sound system in macan ev was TERRIBLE. I was shocked. It was soooo muddy. It felt super choppy. There was such a huge boost in mids and there was zero low-top end. Like 6-10khz just didn’t exist.
Any thoughts on phantom drain? I am gong to place an order for either a 4 or a 4S this week. Definitely going for the smaller wheels. I really want the 4S, but 288 miles cuts it very close. My typical routine is... charge to 90%, drive 110 miles on Sunday, the car sits parked Sunday through Thursday in a garage, then I drive back 110 miles for the weekend. My Model X, that this will replace, offers plenty of range to allow for phantom drain.
With Porsche’s amazing charging curve this should out perform any other “crossover” SUV on a long highway test where you need to fast charge. To see what I’m talking about see how the Taycan dominated the other contenders in the recent Out of Spec Seattle to Boston race. Out of Spec also just released a Cannonball NY-LA in 40 hrs w the Taycan.
Kyle- with all your contacts at Porsche, when will U.S. get NACS adaptors and access for Porsche EVs? I have a Macan EV and CCS charging in the U.S. is beyond terrible. Coming from a Tesla - it's not even in the same ballpark.
I was really looking at this model but worried that the storage space in the rear might be the deal breaker. However, when Kyle indicated that there is no one pedal driving option….hard pass. Once you have had that feature, you’ll never not want it again.

Have Porsche fitted a cheaper charger as they did in the Taycan compared to the Audi's ? So Porsche haven't improved efficiency just put a bigger battery in at 95 kwh giving 3.1 miles per kw with one passenger / driver and in eco mode with AC turned down etc. Spend $80k on a Macan or $40k on a used Taycan which does 200 miles sorry but that is a no brainer.
He mentions that the odometer is spot on, even though the speedometer reads a little high. Your range/efficiency would be off the odometer, which is reading accurately.

They capture this when they do the challenges. They are always driving 80. You can connect the dots between that test data and the 70 mph runs. This is really set up as a "how far can I go with no infrastructure support" test

That Model Y hit 286 miles with 12,000 rental miles and 2kW degradation. Fresh one would make 2kW worth farther 293 miles.
