My father was from Laylpur (now Faisalabad). My mother from Montgomery (now Sahiwal). Both said their families were lucky and greatful that they shifted to Indian side of Punjab. Listening to your video I feel so sad at the state of affairs in these areas. My personal opinion is that it's only the people of Pakistan who have to rise and fight it out. Or maybe you know better. I live in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan, India which borders South Punjab. The International boundary is just 20 Kms away. Our town is very small and probably most of the Indians have not even heard about it. But let me tell you, whether it be healthcare, education or women empowerment we are just like any good Indian town. Miles ahead of Pakistani south Punjab. It is very common to see women of all age groups riding two wheelers and cars, just like males.

My city is the most deprived city in pakistan, not even a single street is clean, guttars are open, no govt job since many years. 60% youth is unemployeed........ thanks for rising voice
During my banking career I used to visit South Punjab cities like D.G.Khan and few others and it transpired to me that some big madrisas' used to recruit human resource from poor areas (preferably deep rural) and train them behind high walls/guarded gates as a Supply Chain for fighting in Afghanistan and Occupied Kashmir under the garb of Mujahideens. Of course, Security Agencies were overseeing the whole process.

I just only wish that some mysterious magical spell saves our country and all others like me, because for sure, (even tho I don't have any right to vote, yet) no political leader or political party is going to bring favorable changes, other than building pulls and roads in Lahore, and seizing their cases from court. It is really terrible. Our forefathers suffered a lot at the time of migration from South Punjab to Bharat but feel privileged that we didn't born in this hell like situation. Islamisation and radicalisation of South Punjab has made it more pathetic.
Our Forefather had no choice, Loosing your ancestral land is not a privileged. Sikhs and Hindus that were forced out of their ancestral lands we have no tight knit community, as we had in Punjab we were forced to leave, as a result no political power.

Our Forefather had no choice, it was either convert to Islam or escape, many died escaping. The properties of Sikhs and Hindus were looted. We lost our ancestral lands and homes where we lived for thousands of years,. Pakistan is failing because Sikhs and Hindus who were back bone of the society were forced to leave and the current inhabitants of South Punjab are clueless how to run the economy and build healthy communities.
And it’s the exact same with how millions of Muslim families (just like mine) were forced to leave East Panjab or be forcefully converted or killed and lost their ancestral land hence all the modern day problems with religious Sikh extremism there. It goes both ways.

I remember one interview of Pervez Musharaff (2006) in which he said that reason for large number of recruits in Madrasas is poverty. He said as reply to a question that children get two times meal and basic clothing in Madrasas. Parents dump them in Madrasas with or without knowing that their children are exploited/abused badly in many ways. From this video it is understood that there is no change in the situation after 18 years of his utterances..... 😭😭😭
Even today, the biggest buildings you will see there are madrasas...Schools? Hardly any! As for going to Nishtar Hospital, you will find Nishtar also recommends them to go to Lahore...😢

I'm from South Punjab's city of Sadiqabad having 1.5 million people. We have No University, In case of medical emergency we have to go to the district Rahim Yar Khan which is 25 KM away.
Just like all provinces revenue directly or indirectly is spent on punjab same way 80 % of Punjab revenue is spent on northern punjab particularly Lahore. If Pakistan needs to exist as one country it needs local government and more small provinces . But instead of doing this they planning to re write 8th amendment

One thing you missed is that Bahawalpur is 2nd largest city of South Punjab after Multan but there are little to zero industry here, that's the main reason why Bahawalpur city is poor. As a Bahawalpuri I confirm that in my childhood days there were literally people with guns roaming around the city. I'm glad this thing is not that common now a days.

This is not punjab getting lion share but problem is when Punjab get other provinces resources without paying them. When Gawader college is in Lahore. When confederation becomes one unit to exploit small provinces resources.

my late grandparents migrated from Jind, Haryana to Khanewal during the partition. Reflecting on their journey, I wonder how different things might have been had they stayed in India. I am sure things must have progressed there far better than here in Pakistan. The challenges and struggles we face today sometimes make me wish for the stability and growth that they might have experienced in their homeland.

My father was from Laylpur (now Faisalabad). My mother from Montgomery (now Sahiwal). Both said their families were lucky and greatful that they shifted to Indian side of Punjab. Listening to your video I feel so sad at the state of affairs in these areas. My personal opinion is that it's only the people of Pakistan who have to rise and fight it out. Or maybe you know better. But I wish Good for the people of my ancestral land. We are in a way connected.
No we are not connected. I too had my dadaji forcibly migrate from rawalpindi area. We still have his sword that he had to use to protect our sikh families( he was ex army and was part of jatha). I live in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan, India which borders South Punjab. The International boundary is just 20 Kms away. Our town is very small and probably most of the Indians have not even heard about it. But let me tell you, whether it be healthcare, education or women empowerment we are just like any good Indian town. Miles ahead of Pakistani south Punjab. It is very common to see women of all age groups riding two wheelers and cars, just like males.

During my banking career I used to visit South Punjab cities like D.G.Khan and few others and it transpired to me that some big madrisas' used to recruit human resource from poor areas (preferably deep rural) and train them behind high walls/guarded gates as a Supply Chain for fighting in Afghanistan and Occupied Kashmir under the garb of Mujahideens. Of course, Security Agencies were overseeing the whole process.

ویسے کوئی یہ نہیں بتاتا کہ فرانس جیسے ترقی یافتہ ملک نے 2016 میں اپنے صوبوں کی تعداد 22 سے گھٹا کر 13 کر دی ہے۔ اِس اقدام کا مقصد بچت کرنا ہے۔ جتنے زیادہ صوبے ہوں گے، اتنے زیادہ گورنر، وزیراعلیٰ، اسپیکر، ڈپٹی اسپیکر، وزیر، مشیر اور معاونیں خصوصی ہوں گے، اتنے ہی سیکریٹریٹ اور ان کا عملہ ہو گا جس کی وجہ سے خرچہ بڑھ جاتا ہے۔ آج انٹرنیٹ کے زمانے میں دنیا کے دُوسرے کونے پر بھی نظر رکھی جا سکتی ہے اور حکومتی پہنچ بھی بہ آسانی ہر جگہ ہو سکتی ہے۔ آج صوبے کا بڑا چھوٹا یا دور نزدیک ہونا بے معنی ہو چکا ہے۔
یہ افواہ بھی ہے کہ کچھ طاقتور لوگ یہ منصوبہ بھی بنائے بیٹھے ہیں کہ نیاصوبہ بننے کے بعد وہاں سے پنجابی بولنے والے " آبادکاروں " کو لسانی فساد کر ا کے بھگا دِیا جائے گا۔ ایسی افواہوں کا نوٹس لیا جانا چاہیے۔

Our Forefather had no choice, it was either convert to Islam or escape, many died escaping. The properties of Sikhs and Hindus were looted. We lost our ancestral lands and homes where we lived for thousands of years,.
Pakistan is failing because Sikhs and Hindus who were back bone of the society were forced to leave and the current inhabitants of South Punjab are clueless how to run the economy and build healthy communities.

I remember one interview of Pervez Musharaff (2006) in which he said that reason for large number of recruits in Madrasas is poverty. He said as reply to a question that children get two times meal and basic clothing in Madrasas. Parents dump them in Madrasas with or without knowing that their children are exploited/abused badly in many ways.
From this video it is understood that there is no change in the situation after 18 years of his utterances..... 😭😭😭

One thing you missed is that Bahawalpur is 2nd largest city of South Punjab after Multan but there are little to zero industry here, that's the main reason why Bahawalpur city is poor. As a Bahawalpuri I confirm that in my childhood days there were literally people with guns roaming around the city. I'm glad this thing is not that common now a days.

my late grandparents migrated from Jind, Haryana to Khanewal during the partition. Reflecting on their journey, I wonder how different things might have been had they stayed in India. I am sure things must have progressed there far better than here in Pakistan.
