Infinite Wards lowest point was Ghosts and Treyarch is all over the place in terms of quality, but Sledgehammer started out mid and has gotten worse and worse over 9 years.

To be fair I don’t even think this is entirely Sledgehammer’s fault because I don’t think even Infinity Ward or Treyarch could’ve made this good. Like this was meant to be dlc for MW2 and Activision made them switch it to a full $70 game within a year. Most main cod entries usually have 3 years to be made.

I haven't bought a Call of Duty game at launch since Black Ops 2, and I only bought Infinite Warfare for the campaign last year. So where are the big army vs army setpieces like Wolverines and The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday? This new stuff feels like it's all one squad against an entire battalion, and totally clinical atmospheres. Even in the old Modern Warfare campaigns, if you were going to be a one-man army, was usually irregulars like the favela gangers or the Somali militiamen, the sort of people you can see a spec ops team cutting down with ease, even if that didn't really translate to the gameplay. That, or the narrative tells you that you really shouldn't be fighting that many soldiers all at the same time, like Cliffhanger and Eye Of The Storm.
My friend is a dev at sledgehammer. This game was produced in under 12 months out of the scraps of other random projects including the (killed by Activision) MW2 Remastered MP. Morale was in the toilet. They knew the game was going to suck.
