So needed to see this video. I just passed my Anatomy & Physiology class with an A but i worked my butt off and everyones statements about nursing school is so negative and overwhelming to the point it made me scared of nursing school!! So thank you for this video. Very uplifting and motivational! (:

This is going to sound kinda ridiculous but how did you study for your exams?? I swear my professor over explains things so much and makes simple things so so difficult. Last semester almost half the class would’ve failed if he hadn’t thrown a curve

@@emilyrentschler9926 the nursing program is hard. And there is no study guide. I was the fist 1 to drop in my cohort 13 ppl dropped on the 5th week 6 ppl fail the exam.

It's not hard. It's a lot of busy work. Take it from a 20 year nurse veteran: You learn about REAL nursing the first day on the job. Up until then, you only know theory. You learn a lot of things on the floor that they didn't go over in nursing school.

    • @chelseymichelle9286

Doesn't mean nursing school isn't hard though

    • @huetuber1204

@@chelseymichelle9286 it's relative in comparison. Try medical school. The suicide rate for medical students is insane. I've never heard of a nursing student killing themselves over failing nursing school.

Delete the “male” out of nurse 👨🏻‍⚕️ And I mean this for good reasons! Yes, back in the day, it was unknown for men to be RNs. But, I feel like men deserve just as much credit as the women!

Great video! It's about time we see some positivity about nursing school. I remember being terrified about my first day because I was afraid of failure. All the comments were so negative. "you won't have any sleep" "you won't have life" "its so hard"
after the first two weeks everything wasn't so chaotic and I realized this is not as bad as everyone made it seem. When you are really in love with Nursing your eager to learn everything there is to know (in my opinion). If you have such a hard time (i mean you are really miserable in nursing school) then maybe it isn't your calling.

I LOVE THIS! I'm entering my last semester and I'm getting all these feelings like "this is happening, it's almost over" Thank you so much for this! It inspired me as I'm approaching the end of the road (a long road!!) to my RN but what I love are how you are inspiring the young women who aren't in school yet!

Really needed this today! I'm halfway through my first semester for my LPN and am feeling burnt out from working, studying, and lack of sleep. I needed this to spark my passion and love for nursing again. I absolute love your positive outlook on nursing school because when I first started I felt like I was the only one who was excited to learn how to insert a catheter or learn about GI bleeds lol! I am proud to wear my scrubs not only because they're comfortable but because I'm proud to show off that I'm a future nurse. I really enjoyed your other video on how to survive nursing school. I got to the point where I forgot to take care of myself. I need to find time to exercise and make healthier food choices. I truly appreciate everything you have done in these videos and am thankful that I am not the only one who feels those way in nursing school. I hope to one day be a great nurse like you! Much love from MN!

WOW! I am so amazed at your perspective on nursing school. I will definitely be checking in on your videos often because you are truly one of the only (if not the only) person I have heard who has said nursing school isn't hard. I have truly terrified myself by reading WAY too many horror stories on google and now I'm really scared but coming across your video tonight has inspired me in much needed ways. I guarantee if you keep being controversial (in a good way), you will become my biggest fan! I long to hear people's testimonies like this. I honestly get so sick of hearing everyone complain and gripe and say "you won't even have time to shower!" I am in nursing school now. I think people's horror stories are overrated. Please continue to keep the motivational videos coming!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

This is just what I needed! I'm struggling through the stress of my second semester and I needed this reminder of why I started and How awesome nursing is!! I just saw a gallbladder being pulled out of someones belly button during a cholecysectomy last thursday. It is truly a privilege to be in the shadow of all these awesome nurses and to get the opportunity to learn so much about the human body and ourselves in the process. I really hope that I get the opportunity to continue all the way this has been one of the absolute hardest things I have ever done in my life! Thanks for all the encouragement and positivity

I mean, everything described here are positive aspects to nursing school and the possibility of being a nurse but nursing school is VERY hard especially depending upon the school you go to. And that’s the truth. Personally, I miss seeing my friends and studying gets really old after awhile when you are completely drained averaging 4 hours of sleep a night from all the expectations held over your head. It’s worth it in the end once you have that title and job, but most would attest in reality nursing school is one of the most difficult times in their life. Let’s be realistic here.

6 years later: I finished my second semester of nursing school in early May. As I reflect I realize that I made it a lot more difficult than it was. I didn’t have to work because I saved money and my mom helped me with my daughter. Though I passed with A’s and B’s I realize what made it hard was that at times I didn’t stay on top of my reading like I should have so I had to rush through content so I could get caught up on the next set of content.

I get a little freaked out thinking about the classes. A few years ago after being separated from the Marine Corps for a convenience of government (pre existing condition undiagnosed by any Doctor) and, for no reason signed up to be an EMT. I dropped out in 3 days. It was so fast and so accelerated. And they were test every day and if you failed more than two you have to pay for the entire course again. So I just quit while I was ahead. It's been some time now and I still have a huge interest in medicine helping others. I'd rather be in nursing EMT. Any thoughts on that? By the way I want to do Associates not bachelors

Going to school for something you love and are passionate about is alot easier than going to school for something you aren't very interested in.
The point she's trying to make is the benefits make it easier. I've always thought the pre-req stage was so much harder because I felt like everything was irrelevant. Once in the program I feel like everything is interesting and completely relevant, which encourages me to want to learn it and makes it way easier.

I'm considering going into nursing, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. Honestly my passion is animals, and I've wanted to be a veterinary technician. They don't make much money though.
How do you accept that you may not be able to do what you're passionate about, and do something else that is more financially stable?? I know nursing is very similar, but I want to work with animals. The problem is that most, if not all, of animal-based career choices (besides veterinarian) are not really enough to make a living from. :(

I'm working at an animal hospital and have signed up to be in the veterinary technician program at the local college, but I've just realized they don't really make enough. I think I would enjoy nursing but honestly I've never considered it until now. Like I said my passion is animals. I'm really struggling. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and helpful!!!

I agree with some of your points, however, nursing school is very difficult or else more people would be doing it!! Yes there are a lot of positive aspects to nursing (hence why we join the profession), but there is another reality to it that catch people off guard when they get into the program. It's designed to weed out students who can't pass NCLEX style questions and 99.99% of nursing school is that. Along with clinical, spending hours doing care plans, and spending every waking second studying for an exam with multiple right answers. NURSING SCHOOL IS VERY DIFFICULT YOU GUYS!

Katlyn Butschek I would say that as long as you put in the work you can pass... there are no " special" people out there. You are either disciplined or not, but no one without a mental disability is too stupid to pass nclex style questions.
