Honestly most of these actors could've done a far better job as the character if they're given the right material to work with. It's not all their fault, it's the script that made their performance look terrible

Cage’s character in Drive Angry was closer to the comic book version of Johnny Blaze than what we got in the GR movies, but the Rider scenes were still awesome

Okay, I call bullcrap on Nicholas Cage being bad for Ghost Rider. If the script and movie was actually, you know... BETTER, Cage could've been amazing as Ghost Rider!
Cage was awful. That's typical for him. He's either really good or he's awful. In this case he was awful. I went to see it because he was in it. I was very disappointed.
Not just the scripts, but the directing, fight choreography, visual effects, damn near EVERYTHING. The casting is the least likely to ruin these movies. If Watch Mojo were being honest, and they imagined Catwoman with the exact same script, exact same direction, exact same dialogue, exact same visual effects, exact same fight choreography, exact same EVERYTHING, except that Michelle Pfiefer was cast as Catwoman, would that actually save the movie? Same thing with Batman & Robin. If they had the exact same dialogue, bad puns, direction, action scenes, CGI, wardrobe, etc, but Michael Keaton was brought back to play Batman, would it suddenly be a good movie? FUCK NO!!! Because the actors cast in the lead roles have very little to do with the way that their characters are portrayed. The actors don't write the scripts, they just memorize the dialogue written in them. The actors don't direct the movies, they just do what the director tells them to do. The actors don't choreograph the fight scenes, they just follow the choreographer's instructions. The actors don't pick their own wardrobe, they just wear what they're told to. The list goes on, and on, and on.

I have to agree. Nicolas Cage is actually the reason why Ghost Rider was my favorite Marvel superhero/antihero as a teenager. Looking back on it now, I realize that the movie itself is not really the best, but Cage really did the best with what he was given.

Exactly, and Nic Cage is a very good actor. In just about every movie he's in, his performance could've been better if the script and the directing was better. He often does movies with great concept but very poor execution
For real, that movie was fun as hell. If you're looking at it like a snooty critic who also critiques wine in their free time, sure, there's plenty to criticize. But if you're not a collosal douche bag and just like to enjoy movies, it was great.
Judging by the amount of times an actor gets scrutinised for how they fit the role and end up knocking it out of the park, most of these are just down to bad writing and direction. Bale, Keaton and Pattinson were all judged for being cast as Batman and fans ended up loving all 3.
Finn Jones really did phone it in most of the time. Damn shame because with his one cameo in Luke Cage season 2, I can see why they cast him as the character. He was better in that one episode than he was throughout the entirety of his own show and Defenders. So while part of me wants them to put another actor in his place...another part of me wants them to give him one more shot. Just with stricter oversight and without the full narrative weight being on his shoulders.
So far Karl Urban is the best Judge Dredd. If and if they make another Judge Dredd movie without making it a “reboot” Karl Urban would be perfect again.

Although I mostly agree with this list, I honestly have to disagree with Nicolas Cage as Ghost Rider. I don’t mind his crazy performance and it actually made the movie really fun to watch. I’m also surprised that you didn’t include the actress playing Starfire from Titans or Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor (I know Lex Luthor isn’t a super hero, but I still feel like his performance looks off).
Eisenberg as Lex Luthor feels more like a watered down version of Heath Ledger's Joker to me. Luthor has, in my opinion, has always felt more cold and calculating and serious. The Jolly Rancher thing was just to weird.

Kirk, & his physique when translating to the screen? Not so much). - Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk (he was boring, his acting chops as Bruce is stiff & he spends the rest of the MCU since his debut in 2012's The Avengers by protecting Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow Beauty & The Beast style for no apparent reasons. Blame for the studio to force the director to shoehorn one of Disney's strangest elements in a Marvel Movie. If only Edward Norton make his version of the character made the MCU a different franchise). - Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash (following The Flash's success thanks to the CW show. Flash fans wanted to see Grant Gustin in a DC movie as This universes Barry Allen/The Flash. But in the end they don't want him to shoehorn in the Justice League because his show is disconnected to the DCEU so they got Ezra "Dirty" Miller. His portrayal outside of the Flash suit as Barry comes off like he's a Peter Parker wannabe).
I have to disagree about Milan Akerman as Silk Spectre. I actually like her performance in Watchmen. She's beautiful and badass. She should've been in the opposite of the superhero casting choices.

Growing up watching The Green Hornet series as a kid thinking it was really Bruce Lee. It was good nonetheless compared with Seth Rogen's Green Hornet which is a total crap.
I thought the first ghost rider was pretty good the second one however CG was crap. I also liked some of the things in judge dredd the beginning first 15-20 minutes some of my favorite scenes a of all times. However the overall story is dead.
Any one of them would have been better than putting Alba on the list. While I would agree that Alba was a miscast, she did a decent job at the part. Some of these actors - especially below the 10 count down would have done a good job in their role had the script and/or direction been a lot better.

David Hasselhoff was NOT miscast in his role in "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2", despite what anyone else might say. Halle Berry showed a lot of class by accepting her Razzie Award, happy and in person for her her role as Catwoman.
Eric Bana nailed it as Bruce Banner! I blame the writers...if the concept is bad, it's hard to blame the actor or actresses. I think with a good script George Clooney would've been an excellent Batman/Bruce Wayne.
Disagree on Clooney oddly enough. If you see that one serious scene he had with Alfred, you could see Clooney COULD'VE made a great Wayne/Batman. But that's not what the movie was after.
The acting in Batman & Robin was bad for all involved, but it was the script and director that made it all terrible. The 'nipple' costumes were laughable, but in the pathetic sense and not the humorous like they wanted. Never should've moved on from Burton. Or waited for the darker version w/Bale after Returns.
You know that steel movie was such a piece of crap, cause he literally is supposed to be there for two main reasons: superman is "dead" and he wants to help his suffering community and others
If you ever do an opposite list, best casting of a superhero, may I suggest that you include Dolph Lundgren as Frank Castle/Punisher? He's amazing in the admittedly not greatly written 1989 big screen debut for the vigilante. Lundgren brings a pathos not seen in the other movies. I've always said that putting Dolph Lundgren in Punisher: War Zone would've been maybe the perfect film about Mr. Skull Tee himself.

Dishonorable Mentions: *Topher Grace as Eddie Brock/Venom - Spider-Man 3 -Thank god for Tom Hardy's superior take in Venom and it's sequel. *Ben Affleck as Matt Murdock/Daredevil - Daredevil -The film itself is essentially a try-hard superhero movie that takes itself too seriously, and one contributing factor is Affleck's performance. He constantly gives a monotone, wooden performance throughout the movie. *Arnold Schwarzenegger as Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze - Batman and Robin -The heroes and villains in general were miscast. From Poison Ivy to OH MY GOD WHAT DID THEY DO TO BANE?!!! They made him into a complete and total dumbass Neanderthal! And then there's poor Mr. Freeze, who went from a ruthless yet depressing and sympathetic villain to a bad pun spewing cartoon character. Seriously, the also ice-puny Mr. Freeze in The Lego Batman Movie was better than this, AND HE'S BARELY IN IT!

I kinda thought the Fantastic 4 actors from ‘15 movie would’ve made this list.

Any one of them would have been better than putting Alba on the list. While I would agree that Alba was a miscast, she did a decent job at the part. Some of these actors - especially below the 10 count down would have done a good job in their role had the script and/or direction been a lot better.

I didnt mind Gambit in X-Men: Wolverine. Just was underused and was basically a cameo

David Hasselhoff was NOT miscast in his role in "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2", despite what anyone else might say.
Halle Berry showed a lot of class by accepting her Razzie Award, happy and in person for her her role as Catwoman.
Dare devil with ben Affleck was awful. They should have had another actor to play the role.
Eric Bana nailed it as Bruce Banner! I blame the writers...if the concept is bad, it's hard to blame the actor or actresses. I think with a good script George Clooney would've been an excellent Batman/Bruce Wayne.

Disagree on Clooney oddly enough. If you see that one serious scene he had with Alfred, you could see Clooney COULD'VE made a great Wayne/Batman. But that's not what the movie was after.
Yeah and the part where he talked to Mr.freeze at the end about saving his wife
I actually like the Batman and Robin movie as campy fun. I also liked George Clooney in the role.
I've never wached Titans but I think he might be a bit too old for Bruce Wayne.

I honestly thought David Hasselhoff did a decent job as Nick Fury, although Sam Jackson is by far the better Fury

The acting in Batman & Robin was bad for all involved, but it was the script and director that made it all terrible. The 'nipple' costumes were laughable, but in the pathetic sense and not the humorous like they wanted. Never should've moved on from Burton. Or waited for the darker version w/Bale after Returns.
You know that steel movie was such a piece of crap, cause he literally is supposed to be there for two main reasons: superman is "dead" and he wants to help his suffering community and others
If you ever do an opposite list, best casting of a superhero, may I suggest that you include Dolph Lundgren as Frank Castle/Punisher? He's amazing in the admittedly not greatly written 1989 big screen debut for the vigilante. Lundgren brings a pathos not seen in the other movies. I've always said that putting Dolph Lundgren in Punisher: War Zone would've been maybe the perfect film about Mr. Skull Tee himself.

-Thank god for Tom Hardy's superior take in Venom and it's sequel.

-The film itself is essentially a try-hard superhero movie that takes itself too seriously, and one contributing factor is Affleck's performance. He constantly gives a monotone, wooden performance throughout the movie.
*Arnold Schwarzenegger as Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze - Batman and Robin
-The heroes and villains in general were miscast. From Poison Ivy to OH MY GOD WHAT DID THEY DO TO BANE?!!! They made him into a complete and total dumbass Neanderthal! And then there's poor Mr. Freeze, who went from a ruthless yet depressing and sympathetic villain to a bad pun spewing cartoon character. Seriously, the also ice-puny Mr. Freeze in The Lego Batman Movie was better than this, AND HE'S BARELY IN IT!
