    Great video , also check for any sharp edges or uneven wearing in the gaps where the cable goes in the aftermarket leavers because mine was grinding the cable a lot sooner than needed

    This is madness how they chose where to thread this cable. I live in Japan and my clutch cable just snapped on my Yamaha FZ 600cc 2004 bike. The bike shop will do their best to fix it asap. There was no way I could pull out the old cable in the car park (where it snapped). I tried 2 spares (luckily I live locally) I had but one was too long, the other too short so, that was that. No bike parts shop nearby so had to make a call to the recovery man...and good luck with that in Japanglish... :D

    Great video, just replaced mine in less than an hour. Mine hadn't broken yet, but the clutch handle was starting to stick when I was slowly releasing the clutch. New cable shipped

    Your are awesome!! Thanks, Just fit new cable at the garage, I had the bike breakdown so just bought new cable and fit it in provisionally just to get home, left the original cable in place just hooking in the new, not even lifting the tank. Thanks for the tips!! Took me only 20 minutes and bang done!!

    Thanks for the video, very useful as I am about to change cable on my yamaha.
    One tip thought, do not show you keys in videos as someone might copy it easily, just google for "how to duplicate key from picture".
    Cheers!

    Great video, I was able to push that clip out from the bottom and reuse it. Pain to do but feels good doing it myself. Thanks again brother

    thanks for the vid my man, i never would have seen that clip that holds the cable in. I would definitely recommend spending the extra $10 and getting OEM, my aftermarket one works and doesnt stick but it does have a tiny bit of a harder pull which is going to drive me nuts.

    Hi, great video. I ordered the motion pro part but am still having trouble making the cable reach on my FZ6 ‘06.

      Make sure the adjustments are right, I thought it was too short at first, as well, but it's actually exactly how it should be. Did you order it through the link in the description on this video?

    You want to have the lever just flush when the bars are turned all the way to the right or left. It will be loose towards one direction so make it flush there and leave it. Loose is bad.

    • @TheInja
      @TheInja  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anthony Abelardo Where did you hear that?

    • @antdx316
      @antdx316 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because when you twist the bars on direction it pulls against the cable so if you are flush on the tighter side it will be loose on the looser side direction. The 2018 S1000RR was so damn loose you had to be basically 100% lever to bar contact to actually be fully clutched in but I didn't know as I thought they know what they are doing. You want consistent clutch in feel on both directions. This is the same w/ the throttle cable so you might have to move routing of the cable so it returns properly every time. I couldn't come out of wheelies fast enough in the beginning because I didn't know now I can control them because it returns faster.

    Cable snap for not being lubricated which is why they dont last long. we over look that part on our bikes

  • @ondatasboy270
    @ondatasboy270 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    After getting my bike back scratched from just having shocks done the clutch cable is stuffed. I'll do it myself now, there just isn't sufficient pride in work people do to my possessions.
