The shear amount of work Free League has put into creating the solo rules makes going forward with other expansions interesting. They’ve now developed a framework to use in other potential One Ring games that makes the future of this IP a whole lot more exciting.
Oh no, lost dwarven cities are my biggest fantasy turn on... But I have to be strong I won't be tricked into buying another game. I'm already playing a solo campaign in twilight 2000 and started playning dragonbane solo just to do called to the green soon. But moria is THE lost dwarven city... Maybe one day 😅 it does look really really cool
damn I've had this book since the kickstarter and hadn't had a chance to crack it open just yet (my backlog is tremendous and ever growing). The solo section of this is jumping it right up to the next spot.
[mechanics clarification- skip if you don't want a well akshully] If you aren't using the cool Free League dice, 11 is the eye and 12 is the Gandalf rune on the d12 and 6 on the d6 is a bonus success. You can use bonus successes in different ways. When you were talking about spending 15 points instead of10, you were on the right track. You spend points on skills (the dots equal the number of d6s you roll) but you start off with a bunch based on the character culture and calling which is why it didn't add up on the pregens. I have almost finished the whole book and I think the one thing that stood out to me was how much more deadly Moria is. You accumulate shadow points at a rapid pace and the monsters are significantly tougher. Also, the place really comes alive with all the hooks, hidden areas, and factions woven throughout. If you are running this for a group, you will constantly delight your players. If running this solo, don't preread too much about the locations. Let yourself stumble upon them. I'm excited to delve in.
The great thing about TOR is the theme. At first I thought, well fantasy like every other. But rules and theme are so great intertwined.. Sauron watching and the character’s succumbing to the shadow is so great.
Shout to Jeff! Sorry it’s taken me so long to return your salad bowl. I can bring it over on Friday; I’ll be passing your house on my way to my Mom’s if you want to catch up. Congratulations on The One Ring Strider Mode. I liked it!
I was on the fence about getting this but it looks awesome, the solo additions look far more robust than i expected. Looks like I'll be adding this to the wishlist!
This game quickly became my favorite role-play game. just reading the core book was fun. Unfortunately, I could not get my friends to the table to play this so it’s going to be solo. Play for me. Thank you for this video.
Video 65 of me liking and then commenting on every new upload to tell the viewers that the Man Alone Podcast is absolutely some of that sweet, unhinged audio/vocal-honey. Psssst. I am once again requesting for an absolutely heated discourse on whether a drinking straw has one or two holes.
I'm already over the moon with Free Leagues' Forbidden Lands solo jam, but this is really really tempting.

As a guy named Geoff with a work area in my garage, I resemble that remark.

One ring is my jam.
Good stuff, I’ll have to grab a copy of Moria soon
One of the best supplements I’ve ever seen. An absolute must for solo players using fantasy worlds.
I didn't even know this game existed. I bought 3 hardcovers.

5:25 Now beating THAT, is the ultimate fantasy! Buy a home! Get married, become a parent... of TWO!😅😅😅😅
Fantastic game, fantastic solo rules
Kickstarter was 100% worth it

Wow that stance map 😱 can’t wait to put minis on it
The One Ring, my fave game.
It's time to play man alone! The game that you can always trust! (That's what I feel like saying to your intro music at the start of your video)
Got this a few weeks ago. Gorgeous book and a great read.
