    Thanks for the video. My sister just got a 2020 Ranger and ordered one of these tailgate dampers. It says you should have the Dealer install it. After seeing this video i called her and told her i would install it when it comes in. I had to go buy a T-50, I'm all set :).

    Hey man get the black ranger stickers for the back of the tailgate. Just put them on my tailgate and it looks so much better. I bought the $15 ones from Amazon and they’re decent quality. Thanks for the video. I’ll be putting my tailgate damper on soon. More ranger videos please. Oil catch can video sure would be nice. It’s looking like it’s gonna be a real pain to put it on

      @@TheWiscoGuyz That's funny because I had my heart set on the blue too but then I saw a few cool options that the blackout package came with and it was a deal breaker for me( because it looks extremely cool with the grey and blackout too). It automatically comes with the tough spray bed liner and 18 inch rims so I was sold right there. I still have my FJ Cruiser that is blue. I will be selling that one in the coming months. It was honestly the best most reliable vehicle I ever owned.

    Just got a new Ranger about a week ago and ordered the damper, as i was doing it i had noticed with the tailgate closed there seems to be a lot of back and forth play and doesn't sit tight and flush like a lot of other trucks ive had. Was wondering if that is something you've noticed with your truck or if anyone else that reads this has noticed with their Ranger? (Noticed before adding damper)

    • @TheWiscoGuyz

      Last year I had a ford ranger come into the body shop for that same issue. We adjusted the strikers for the latches forward to put more resistance on the latches themselves. Seemed to work well....

    Was your bottom bolts insanely hard to Allen wrench in? And did you get it flush and tight on the tailgate? I wasn’t able to get mine complete tight, it has a little play and gap. Not bad imo but didn’t know if this would bring upon future issues?

    If anyone else did this, you can pull the clip off the rounded part to remove.

  • @jasonhalverson2714
    @jasonhalverson2714 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Installed yesterday on my 2021 and the tailgate cable on the damper side seems to have a little slack; and it looks like yours does after install as well (at 8:17 when you slap the tailgate the cable tightens). If I sit on the tailgate, the damper extends enough for the cable to take over. Just curious if after 7+ months the damper is still holding the weight or if there is a "break in" period and the cable is now fully supporting the weight. Comments on other installs have the same observation, with no reports of issues.

    The damper is great in that I can trust my young kids to open the tailgate and not let it just drop. However, being a truck owner myself off and on since 1993 and last one I bought was a 99 F250 SD, when I open the gate of my '19 Ranger now with the damper, it seems to take too long to open when I could have easily opened it in a controlled manner faster than the damped drop. Anyone else feel the same way or is it just me?
