Good to see him trying this out been a volunteer firefighter for 7 years over in the USA and not many people realize how tough of a job it really is until you actually get put into a situation like that and have to try it for yourself
Seeing how 70% of firefighters in the US are volunteers, I can certainly appreciate what he is doing here. Thing is, MOST of those volunteer fire stations out here in rural America, fund raising is something we have to do. One of the big fundraisers is to make and serve dinners. Everything from spaghetti, to chicken, to pork bbq, and whatever else we can find to cook. It would be interesting to see him go out and about and try to help these places make their offerings even better. Of course in some places, that would be quite difficult as I know some stations are VERY deeply rooted in traditions. One of the stations I belonged do would do their Mother's day hams the same as they have for 30 years. The receipt is actually written in marker on the cabinet doors. But many of these receipts could use updating in attempts to draw in more/younger customers for our 1 day events. Yes. We may be out fighting a structure fire one minute, and have to come back and cook up 1700 chicken halves to sell.
I met the man at one of his London restaurants once. It was brief, but I can tell you that what you see on TV isn't actually that far off. He does shout and will curse when something goes wrong, but he'll also step in and help/show how to do the task he's assigned to his staff if they need it. That is the mark of a great chef/manager. Watching him work was a genuine privilege, meeting him (as a chef myself) was a genuine honor.
I been a firefighter for 28 years in the volunteer fire department Gordon Ramsay knows what we go thru and how hot it really is in a house fire . The kitchen is where I am lost we eat anything and everything so much food just doesn't taste good anymore.thank for your recipe work on your chanle I have really enjoyed food again. Thank you.
ignorant comment on your part. Not all first responders are deserving, certainly not individuals like Derek Chauvin, J. Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao. But I suppose you'd give them praise all the same. Get real!
@@pelpadesa I could care less about your so-called, "actual" percentage. If you provided a link, I'm sure it would be to a poor source that aligns to your beliefs when fact checked. Now, I'm not sure what you think you have gained by your comment but I'm certainly not in any state over it. Get a life asap.
When your in a building that’s on fire, it is filled with thick black smoke. You cannot see a thing, not even your hand in-front of your face. There’s certain procedures and techniques you use to make your way around a room to search it for people. In a training environment, your breathing apparatus mask gets blindfolded in order to replicate this.
Brilliant! I love the recipe (I've tried it myself) and totally respect fire fighters who put their own lives at risk to save ours. Just one query, though ... how come it was the (only) female fire fighter who was cooking? Coincidence or (accidental) gender stereotyping?
How does that make any sense? She wasn't forced into that role. She must enjoy it - just because something's the norm doesn't make it a negative stereotype.
I very much enjoy these videos where Gordon cooks for a specific occupation and tries it out himself.
basically like myself except I have to keep doing it until I cant take it anymore.
Steven relatable
@@atharvabhosale3529 ironic i like it
*fire fighters arrive to a fire in a kitchen*

You know how you can spot a volunteer? Don’t worry, they’ll tell you.
yea, but he got the 19 yr old chicks version..... that was pathetic.
Amen to that!

Me and my wife just went to Hells Kitchen Tahoe. It was excellent food and excellent service. The tomahawk was amazing as was the ceaser salad.
Go to one the restaurants then…

20$ really? man inflation sucks watching this at the end of 2023
Okay.
I care what anyone thinks, but firefighters are the REAL heroes in this world! Unappreciated and underpaid, it’s not right.
Gordon Ramsay and Mike Rowe have more in common than many folks realize.
I'm convinced Gordan Ramsay can do just about anything.
Damn it's Fireforce and foodwars all over again
@2:53-2:59 LOL good answer
Song in the background when he was in the building sounded like nas was on it
Good series
me wondering why the lights are on and why they're all standing up inside.
Did he just season a tray
I guess he was just too excited to wait
Ramsey needs to try comp tanks rather then steel
Gordon is top tier
Man. These people are lucky the world's greatest chef made them a meal. Not sure if it's free of charge
HELL YEAH GORDAN! GET IN THERE AND SAVE SOME LIFES!
We have this burger, add oil. A beautiful chopped salad, add oil. Nice chips, add oil. To top if off Iraq, no oil needed.
That a lovely looking snack! Where’s the main course at? Then again I’m a 150 kilo 58 year old growing boy! 😂
so tell me how can a person do his or her job if they cant see what they are doing.

My boyfriend is an ex-firefighter of 22 years
Well said
why is the female fire fighter the only one cooking?
Might as well hire blind people
Horrible treatment of the beef with all that junk, but entertaining nonetheless.

Well she might've been the chief or picked to be on the show. Not everything has something to do with negative stereotype

Okay.
