Thanks for sharing the story. A few years back, I had the same thing happen to me @ Laguna in my 2006 NC. The motor blew up in the first session going up the hill just like your situation. Coasted down the hill into the pits almost getting hit by a GT3.
It sucked. Mine was a loose coolant hose and burned up fast. Rebuild better!
