Okay this place is amazing. You can tell they put pride in their work and build, employees are given time to do quality work and are not running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
The manufacturing building is amazing and very clean as they all should be. Most of the manufacturing tours I have watched in the past do not even come close to this facility.
The aluminum structure is built with quality material and the joints are designed to be strong once they are welded. I'm blown away with the quality of their product.
Thanks so much for showing us around, it would have been nice to see the finished product in this video.

You're right - they were not rushed at all. We were also impressed with the fact that they clean the work station between trailer builds. It was a nice place to visit and they seem to be building good stuff.

We own a 2023 ATC 5th wheel Toy hauler. Our toy hauler is the largest ATC makes at almost 46’. It hasn’t come without issues, but we wanted something that wasn’t made out of wood that would rot and accumulate mold. Our biggest problem was the plumbing had leaks everywhere and some fittings even broke off. We had to take it back to the factory to get all of the plumbing fixed. I wish ATC would use metal fitting instead of plastic.
Overall we are still happy we did not go with one of the big name brand trailers that fall apart when you drive down the road. For those wondering, the MSRP on our trailer was $199k. We did a lot of work shopping around and paid $139k for our trailer after all of the taxes and fees, washer dryer included, $10k in upgraded solar and batteries, and the gooseneck conversion installed, plus a 7 year warranty. We got the $5k, 7 year warranty included for free after the plumbing and electrical issues we experienced right after we bought the trailer.
I think we got a descent deal although I haven’t spoken with any other ATC owners. I actually have never even seen our trailer out in the wild anywhere we have traveled.

I wonder were the leaks where PEX clamps were used on flex hoses? That is both common and troublesome in the RV industry

    • @time_on_target
      @time_on_target 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

@ that was one of the issues yes. The other was improper length hoses that were pulling on the fittings and ultimately caused the plastic fitting to crack and break. Whoever plumbed our trailer did a very poor job. The work looked really sloppy. When we took it back for the warranty repair it was all replaced and tidied up, we haven’t had any issues since.

In the fall of ( 1972 ) i took delivery of a new 31’ Holiday Rambler travel trailer.
It was the Rambler model, which was the top of the 3 different models of trailers they produced.
The Rambler model featured all aluminum construction with the exception of the frame.
The entire under belly of the trailer was insulated and covered with aluminum.
It also had Mor Ride suspension.
It had air conditioning and a 20’ roll out awning.
    Total cost new was $10,000.

That was a lot of money back then but Holiday Rambler was a good brand of RV to be sure. Pretty impressive specs for the time - impressive specs even for today.

@@StressLessCamping To add to the story, the 1972 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive Chevy Suburban i towed the trailer with cost $7200 new.
And it had duel air conditioners as well.
Our first trip from our home in Bucks CO. PA. was to Disney world, which had only been open for about a year at that time.
The daily camping fee at the Fort Wilderness campground was $16.00.
      A full hookup site at a K O A was about $6.00 on average.
Lots of campgrounds offered no hookup sites for overnighters for about $2.00.
The Airstream trailers at that time didnt really look any different than they do today.
And the price was only slightly higher than the cost of the Rambler model of the Holiday Rambler line.
The dealer we bought from carried both lines at that time.

Do they do an aluminum floor tray before laying down the composite floor ?

Thank you very much for posting this! So the exterior siding pieces are simply glued on. I'm new to RV'ing but can't help but wonder how, over years of driving on bumpy roads, how well that glue is going to hold the siding on without separating? Did they provide any insight on that possibility? ATC is on our list of potential trailers and want to go in with my eyes open. Thanks again!

I’m sorry but not trusting anything just glued on. They started doing it with enclosed trailers years ago. It looks nice, no screws, ripples, but I just don’t trust it.

They did not but consider that these industrial adhesives are used in aircraft and other similar applications. Seeing how they do this and knowing how good the adhesives are nowadays this is not something I would be concerned about whatsoever. Of course I'm sure it's possible but not likely.

They glued the outer walls aluminum sheets on?
I would rather have this glue on approach on aluminum stoods which are not anodised or hardened than have them screw into the aluminum wood screws. Aluminum had the bad tendency to rip off threads and screws come allways loose. That is indeed the best approach besides to use U shaped hoof clamps who go around the aluminum stoods and back with 2 bolts, washers and nuts to the outer wall sheet. That would be another vialble approach on aluminum but the wiggle of the U clamps will chew with time the soft aluminum stoods through. So this glue approach may be the best option allways if they sell you the glue should the wall come loose over the decades. Actually like this the owner can himself glue back on the wall if the glue comes loose in Arizona heat if that glue is commertially available.
I just hope they do the glue on as well on the inner walls and do not screw into the aluminum framing.
How do they fasten the bathroom and other stuff. Screws are a big no go for aluminum or aluminum framing and chassis. Bolts may be an option but then the wiggle will damage the aluminum over time.
I am impressed although not being an fan of glueing things on, in this case I believe the glue would allmost be the best option in presence of aluminum.
I would only buy ATC if I would buy an RV. No slides please since that is another big failure potential (more moving parts which can warp and twist and stop working).

That is a stacker trailer factory not an RV factory and furthermore new coach builds their own from scratch all aluminum or metal. You need to get your fax straight and new coach is a high-end builder 2,000,000+ coach watch one of their videos.

@@regculp4706 Without a doubt, Haulmark 8.5' x 24' enclosed trailer. Retails for around $18,000 new. These are built to haul race cars and resell very fast at the full price. The most important part is the 8.5 feet width, that's what buyers will check first and ask you multiple times because the average person doesn't understand a car has to fit between the trailer wheel wells. We use them for hauling ATVs.

For all those who complain about the quality of RVs there are people willing to buy something that isn't made poorly.
