It looks like he had a regular tarpoline for sides of ceiling. But if you put canvas it might hold heat better. You could also put a mini camp stove in there 😊

If i were to build one of these I would wanna connect to the driver seat so incase of emergency i dont gotta go out and get attacked while trying to go to the driver seat
Parking on rocks is 100% about leveling out the truck. Depending on which way you orient yourself while sleeping, even the slightest left to right or front to back lean can be infuriating. This is one reason why RVs have leveling jacks.
