Wow, I forgot there was a version of Doom with an FMV character portrait that gave real-time commentary. It was only the 3do port that had it, quite an odd inclusion, but overall one of the better home console ports, up there with doom 64.
Doom 64 isn't a port though, it's its own game entirely.

u can press pgup and pgdown to look vertically and u can leap over small gaps if you run fast. official doom levels give you ramps so you can jump. relax the fuck out

I could not agree more with the thoughts on dooms "style" It's so dnd-esque and nerdy and geeky i fucking love it so much, its so refreshing in an age where "gEEk GamuR" culture is so polished and shiny
The Columbine shooters were really into Doom modding, and at the time the news made it seem like somehow playing Doom made you a mass murderer. And that amuses me on a dark level, like as if this goofy-ass shit had anything to do with your actions in real life, other than maybe a propensity to never getting laid

With the utmost reverence, he looked like a thumb thumb from Spy Kids the entire time he was in the Hud at the bottom.
"jumping" in original doom works better when you strafe since you move a bit faster. Using explosive barrels or Rockets also helps in some scenarios

8:09 GZDoom is actually one of the best sourceports for its ease of use and modernized features (such as antialiasing or 3D aiming). OG Doom /Chocolate Doom with all its jank is good in its own way, but GZDoom is the modern-classic experience.
PRBoom+ for both ease of use, classic look and no cheats though
@@kmesh9 it has cheats just no console, you kinda just mash the cheats into the keyboard while you're ingame
DSDA Doom is the new hot port, is the continuation of PrBoom+. GZDoom is so different I wouldn't really call it the Doom engine, or an accurate emulation of it, anymore

man i remember this game in 97 or so. and my mom was a good mom she wanted to see and experience what i played.
and she noticed the songs sounded like metallica and ac/dc her favourite bands. she then played along with the keyboard going : see this is master of puppets :D

Well that part is SO ridiculous that it's plausible. We don't know if demons exist, or if a one-man-army like Doomguy exists so it could happen. When something as mundane as a facial expression is unrealistic we tend to notice it because it's something we do know for certain is weird.

I have played and beaten this game only once but i thought it ends only after the star shaped arena. Never knew there were more episodes. I just jumped straight to Doom 2 and gave up on it because it was way more difficult
