He’s just like “I’m not paid to pick it up so if we get a citizen to they get a little bit better treatment.” Which is arguably a more effective way of getting the soldiers to do what you want, by exploiting their compassion.
As we know, they arent allowed to do the "deed" so if they accumulate enough points(and that was one way of doing it), they get to do it. Now whether theu have a partner, their hand, or through a simulation we dont know but it is their reward though.

The reason that the AI was fucked at the early parts in the game is because of what you did at 6:32. Killing that guard and immediately going to the top skips a trigger that both changes the combine's AI from Calm to Aggressive, and allows the player to start taking damage. This is actually a common trick done in pretty much all speedruns, but instead of killing the guy, they just hop over his head.
6:35 when you get passed this guy instead of going the correct direction you skip a trigger that allows Gordon to be hurt, so when you didn't hit that trigger it allows you to fall to the ground without breakin YO kneeeees
I love the bug that makes the combine nonhostile. It makes it seem like Gordon is the weird guy, like it was called the 7-Hour War because they resolved their differences so quickly. Gordon is actually just plowing through an alien nursing home completely oblivious to it. Lamarr is Kleiner's beautiful alien wife.

I think the game crash from the absurdly high crowbar damage was due to how Source applies velocity to an NPC's corpse based on damage which is why the .357 sends enemies ass over teakettle. Here, there was probably so much damage that you sent the Antlion Guard's corpse into the shadow realm and something happened that Havok did *not* like, quite possibly the "infinite angles" crash if an object reports an orientation of "infinite"
Hearing the guess of HL2 being released in 2009 reminded me of how genuinely amazing that HL2 only came out in 2004. This is a game that looks so good even in modern times that it sounds completely reasonable to guess the game as coming out way later than it did. Valve are fucking wizards.

Yes, the ichthyosaur was planned to return in HL2 past the teleport cameo. It was initially meant to be the way to keep the player from straying outside map boundaries in water. They couldn't get it to work and replaced it with the Leech fish environmental hurt.

Funny thing, the "dumb" beta thing abt manhacks you discussed starting at 15:45 is literally the plot of the book Ender's Game, but the message in that is more like the arcade-controlled military robots are a good thing lol.
The Earth military tries to frame it as a good thing, but the main focus of that plot point is that, had the Ender and his crew known that they were actually fighting real enemies with real pilots under their control, they would've been far more hesitant to do what they did had they known it was all real. one thing about that lil barn you airhump to on the airboat ride, 2 weird triggers i noticed can happen
1.the chopper will drop bombs through the cielding windows, like near the crates if you go to them
2.the chopper will just leave if you wait long enough
