Used to play this all the time as a kid. Having grown up with the N64 Mario Parties and 8, I was very happy when a true portable Mario Party came out. Played multiplayer a lot on the bus after school. Pretty solid minigames and boards too, as well as the puzzle games from 3-7 that they brought back in a side mode.
That's so cool! I played a lot of Super Mario 64 DS as a kid, but I somehow never had this Mario Party! Super fun game and the duels for stars are terrifying 😂

This was definitely my favorite Mario Party game, not just because me and my friends would constantly invite each other over to play, but just for how unique and charming the game was for a Mario Party game. I still like playing it now and then for nostalgia of those times and this video makes me super happy that it is not forgotten.
I think Mario Party DS contents like minigames and boards and gimmicks can actually come back to Mario Party Superstars.
It's so nice to see someone play one of my first ever console games, and one of my first Mario Party games. I know I'm a little late, but I'm really happy you were able to play this.
I think I'll help you out and answer some questions you may or many not have had during this video:
Wiggler's Garden Board:
- The green spaces on the left allows the player to choose one of 3 flowers. Each flower can contain 1 coin, 10 coins, or 30 coins, just like Wario got.
- The Giant Piranha Plant at the very top shoots fireballs at any player that lands on the three spaces. But there is a chance that the Piranha Plant will fail, and the player does not lose any coins.
- The green flower spaces right after the Piranha Plant on the right sends any player that lands on it back to the start.
- The green chomping plants takes 5 coins from any player that lands on it, and if multiple players are on that spot, all those players lose 5 coins.
- The 2 green "coin" plants in the middle allows the player to shake it, earning coins based on how much they shake it with the stylus.
Toadette's Music Room:
- Like you found out, after each time a music note/star is bought, the price increases. It goes 5, to 10, to 15, to 20, to 30, and then the cycle repeats.
- The metronome merely moves up the star price cycle, as if a star was bought, moving the star place and changing the price based on the previous amount.
- The two green spaces on the drums will send players to random places around the map, most likely not directly behind a star.
- The huge horn sends players directly behind the star.
- There is a violin (I think it's a violin) at the very top right of the map, and when a player lands on it, it randomly summons one of the other opponents on the map to that space.
- The two green spaces on the piano tests the player with a little memory game. It plays a small set of notes, and the player must replicate it. If successful, they gain 10 coins.
DK's Stone Statue:
- The Star Splurge Space, like you found out, allows the player to buy basically infinite stars, as long as they have enough coins.
- The green spaces directly by the big barrel sign takes away 10 coins from anyone on that path when triggered.
- There is a green space at the very end of the middle row/path, which allows the player to pick a vine, giving them a random item.
- On the lower path at the bottom right, there are two green spaces, and Dry Bones will launch the player away. There's a high chance to be sent back to the start, but there is also a smaller chance to be sent directly behind the star space, allowing the player to get stars (if possible) next turn.
- The two green spaces on leaves lets the player grab coins moving on bees within a time limit.
- The green spaces by ropes has the player go up or down, based on which end of the rope they are on.
Kamek's Library:
- Similarly to the Neon Heights board in Mario Party 7, there are 3 chests/lamps around the map which costs 10 coins each. One sends the player back to the start, but still lets them continue their roll. One gives 10 coins, and the last gives a star.
- The green books warp anyone on that space to wherever the person that triggered that space to either the top right, bottom left, or bottom right half of the map.
- The green spaces in front of pictures/paintings puts the player under a time limit to clean it with the stylus. Cleaning the whole thing rewards 20 coins.
- The long book "bridge" requires 3 coins for a player to get to the other side.
- The "spacey" looking sphere has the player trace a constellation, awarding them coins if traced correctly.
- If a player lands on the green spaces by Kamek's huge lamp, most likely, Kamek will cast Kamek Spell No. 8, which replaces all their items with Halfway Dice Blocks, and swaps their place with someone else. But there is also a chance that Kamek casts Kamek Spell No. 88, which still replaces all items with Halfway Dice Blocks, but now swaps everyone's place.
Bowser's Pinball Machine:
- The big gateway with coin symbols has anyone that passes it test their luck. The player must try and time the middle sign to match the coins on the left and right. If successful, they are awarded the amount of coins shown, times 10 (so the prizes are 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 coins)
- The flippers on the bottom of the map send players directly to the top of the map, hitting a coin bumper, giving them 10 coins.
- The cannon at the top left forces the player to go left or right. You may or may not have seen two red targets on both sides of the map. Those are the landing spots if the cannon is triggered. You can use it to get closer to the star if necessary.
- The big wheel on the right side has the player wage up to 99 coins, and then has them put them on either a 2x, 3x, or 5x multiplier. The trick is that you want to stop the wheel when your desired multiplier section is 2-3 spots early.
- The three spaces on the bottom right fires the player like a pinball. It is very likely that the player will land in the Bowser Zone. If they land one any of the Bowser Zone spaces, they are attacked with a fireball, which takes away ALL of their coins and stars, bringing them down to zero.
- But, there is an incredibly small chance that the player lands in the Star Zone, which can give 1-3 stars. So it's very surprising that the Yoshi COM got it.
Items/Other Board Gimmicks:
- Double Dice: Rolls 2 dice
- Triple Dice: Rolls 3 dice
- Halfway Dice Block: Rolls from 1-5
- Warp Block: Spins the player frantically and sends them to a random part of the map, and lets them roll from there.
- Snag Bag: Like the Plunder Chest from Mario Party Superstars, the player steals an opponents item, but randomly.
- Grab Bag: Like the Item Bag from Mario Party Superstars, it gives the user three item (Triple Dice, Star Pipe, Block Sensor)
- Star Pipe: Directly warps the user to the star space, then lets them roll afterwards.
- Block Sensor: When used, wherever the user lands, a hidden block appears on that space and has three contents: It can be a coin block, allowing the player to bash coins. It can also contain a free star, but it could also contain a Ztar, which takes away a star.
- Coin Hexes: Takes away coins from anyone that lands on it based on the amount.
- Coin Swap Hex: Swaps coins with the player that landed and the player that placed the hex.
- Star Hex: Takes away one or two stars based on the hex.
- Space Swap Hex: Swaps the player that triggered it with the placer.
- Coin Block: A golden coin block that gives more coins than a brick block.
- Star Block: Can obtain up to 3 stars when triggered.
- If you land on your own hex, you gain 5 coins. And if you land on a Coin or Star Hex, but have no coins or stars, nothing happens. You can also place a hex over a spot that already had a hex, so the nex hex replaces the previous, and does not stack.
I apologize for the absurd "essay" of a comment. There are still tons of minigames you haven't played yet, but in order to unlock them, you need to play them on boards. There are lots of different game modes to play, I suggest playing them. Have a great day, ZXMany. Hope this helped any confusion.

This was the first Mario Party game I've played. I've played this one, Mario Party 9, Mario Party Island Tour, and Mario Party Star Rush. Great playthrough, ZXMany.
It's a great game! I still have to try Star Rush, but I've loved all of the ones you listed there! If you like Mario Party 9, you might like Mario Party 10, it's great and really similar!

1. hex are unique
2. minigames are unique
3. friend space is cool which you can choose an alibi to receive coins with u before last 5 turns event by bowser
4. after last 5 turns event friend spaces become duel spaces which you can duel with 1 or 2 stars
5. items are cheap
6. you can choose to buy multiple items when you pass by item shop
7. the 2nd-4th maps has unique star getting method. 2nd map: cost of star increases after a single move. 3rd map: star won't move, and you can buy multiple stars on that space depends how many coins you have. 4th map: 10 coins for opening each jar, it's luck based for this one. there's 3 jars, only one contains a star

I've been playing this game a lot lately, I'm currently playing through Story Mode multiple times to try to get all of the badges.
I like how you made the thumbnail just everybody in jail as a nod to the whole Anti-Piracy thing.
This video popped up in my recommended, and I'm glad it did, honestly. Mario Party DS was the first Mario game that I ever owned on the DS. I remember being stuck on the piranha plant(my sister and I shared a file) for several years until a friend of mine helped me beat that boss. The other bosses were significantly easier, but I always struggled with the first one. I remember usually defaulting to Party Mode instead of Story Mode. There are plenty of other modes in Mario Party that you should check out. Story mode is just one aspect of it.

Mario Party DS Tips & Tricks:
*Tips*
1. (Sweet Sleuth) Each character has their own separate candy to get to the Shy Guy. It's not the same for all characters.
2. (Call of the Goomba) If you see the horde of Goombas behind you, you've won the minigame. This always occured whenever I played the minigame.
3. (Cyber Scamper) The color changing is meant to mess with you. Don't get distracted, and focus on the locations of the tiles.
4. (Hidden Blocks) There's a chance that a hidden block is a star. If it doesn't prompt you with the "Press (A) repeatedly to bash coins out of the block.", then you got a star! However, it must be a brick block. If it's the golden varient, you'll never get a star from it.
5. (Kamek Spells) Their's either "Kamek's Spell No. 8" or "Kamek's Spell No. 88". Based on what the Mario Wiki says, Kamek's Spell Number 8 takes away the player's current items, replaces them with three Halfway Dice Blocks, and swaps the player's position with another player. Kamek's Spell Number 88 is similar, but instead of swapping the player's position with one player, everyone switches places.

*Tricks*
1. (Short Fuse) The rules only say you have to at least blow it a little bit to prevent it from exploding on you, so if the fuse is short, just blow lightly (1 ring) for like 2 seconds, then wait out the rest of your time. Worked for me.
2. (Boogie Beam) The last spotlight will always be on for everyone. It always follows a pattern, but since it's been so long since I've played this game, I don't know the pattern.
3. (Study Fall) As you found out, you are able to actually land on the red line. If you *overshoot* it, that's when you get the score of nothing (also known as - - - . - in.).
4. (Hexoskeleton) Watch the order of the flames appearing on the switches. That's the order you need to hit the switches in.

This was my first Mario Party game I played, it released when I was 5 years old in 2007 and I think my first memory with it was when we were visiting my mom's family for Christmas. My older cousin had a DS and he had this game along with New Super Mario Bros, I remember young me watching him play both games in his bedroom and I never had my own DS until 2011 with the 3DS. I did borrow a lot of DSi consoles from other schoolchildren at my daycare though and this was the first Mario Party game I played. I didn't have any of the Gamecube ones since it released when I was a baby but everyone around me as a kid had DS consoles and all the Mario games on them. I'm glad I'm not the only one who grew up with this game. :)
Its a big disapointment that ds wasn’t represented in super stars in the form of board or a few minigames.

This was such a fun game to play. I got every trophy and I used to intentionally play bowser board and get max coins every time I played since it was so easy to gamble the coins. Used to play the minigames and draw on purpose because the tie sound was funny to me

On Kamek’s Board The Question Mark next to the mirror is a happening space if you clean the mirror 🪞 it gives you 20 coins. Landing on the Orb with the Kamek’s Face always swaps places with one random player on the board and gives you 3 Halfway Dice Blocks Too.

well you can't see the animation in CPUs' perspective. normally in your perspective, if you got into an event space and bowser attempted to plunge you into the bowser zone, that's horrible. And it's a high chance that you're going into bowser zone.
If you got into bowser zone, you need to roll 6 or above to escape from the bowser zone, otherwise you'll lose every coin and star you have, which everything becomes 0 for you if you rolled 1-5. To escape from the dreaded bowser zone, I would suggest using double dice blocks, triple dice blocks, warp block, or golden pipe to escape, even you can't afford a star it would be a better option to escape the bowser zone, or else it would be very risky if you roll normally,and it's a 50/50 that you'll lose everything or you escaped
well of course there's a small chance that bowser accidentally plunged you into a star zone. how does it work? well, you're lucky if you got into star zone. on the next turn, you'll get to roll, and doesn't matter what you've rolled. a star block will approach you, and you need to hit the star block, then you'll get at least 1 star, and at most 3 stars, and that's so lucky and lenient. in other words if you got in the star zone, you can get stars in range 1-3 on the next turn. just imagine you're rolling a 1-3 dice block
My third DS game, remember it so well! Honestly, I think this is the best MP, not my favorite, but the best.
As far as solo content go, the best in the series. OK, not a lot have an actual story mode, I admit, but it's the best anyway!
Excellent and diverse minigames, and a lot of them use the DS's capacities: touch screen, microphone and dual screens. The only one I dislike is Chips and Dips, for obvious RNG reasons.
5 very original boards in my opinion, mostly because of the gimmick of the game, you are *tiny*. All of them have easy to lean basics and complicated specialties that can get useful when you understand them.
5 varied bosses battles that work very well with their corresponding board (except Dry Bones, but it still works).
Many special modes that are all very fun (even if 2 are locked behind multiplayer and 1 behind dual multiplayer).
*_SO MANY_* challenges to do to unlock special rewards.
The only problem I have with this game hat I broke my first DS because of it, pushing *Rage* Quit to the limit...
