It looks like everytime you have a third item (like the key or the whistle) they disappear when you use the duelling glove. Probably a conflict between the mod and the game: The system wants to delete the used item, can't because of the mod and then deletes the only item it can.
that makes sense!! also even if they didn't, they would not be able to be used due to only 1 item able to be used per turn, and for this challenge is must be the dueling glove :)
I think what exactly happens is the dueling glove gets used, bringing the third item to the second position which gets replaced by a mushroom because of the mod

I was wondering about the threshold between how many coins a character wins/loses and what animation they use. Like each character has like 2-3ish happy and 2-3ish upset animations of varying degrees. Like you get 3 coins or lose 3 coins is just an "cool" or "aw drat", but once you lose or win a bit more, they will use their "I got a star" or "I won a mini game" animation. I noticed here that when Mario got 100ish and Luigi lost (when Many bet 88 coins iirc), that Mario did the "winning a minigame" animation and Luigi did the "losing a minigame animation" when before they did the red space/blue space animations.

i think what happens is that every turn the mod ses the inventory to have a dueling glove in it (the mushroom isnt intended to appear)
