I don't understand comments that are like "wow chapos fallen off" - this episode fucking slapped. No way those are made in good faith.
It's probably one of two things, or both. After a while, it's difficult to laugh at some of these current events or even listen to people paid to opinionate and joke about them to no effect. Chapo is absolutely irrelevant in practical terms, and that's ok... until it's not. Secondly, Matt was the intellectual heavyweight on the show, and he's gone. When listeners were tired of making light of existential horror, Matt injected the right amount of perspective, analysis, and outrage. Alex is good - his joke about "don't worry, Matt's book is mostly in English" is the kind of comment I tune in for. And he's certainly as likeable as Matt, but Alex is not Matt.
The effort Turkey takes to try to convince local governments to deny the Armenian genocide is crazy. I used to work in the state library of Massachusetts, I was sorting through some stuff one day and found a half dozen boxes filled with copies of a book called something like “clarifications on the Armenian situation” published by the Turkish consulate and apparently given to the Mass government as some sort of “courtesy.” Again the question must be asked - why do they care if a local government in the U.S. does or doesn’t recognize the Armenian genocide? What difference could it possibly make?

do they, Will? are you sure? maybe if you are using POTS landline-to-landline. maybe. for some obscure legal reason. But everything else gets digitized and sent through the same wires. Just use encryption, people. It's simple and it WORKS (at least, it will for another decade or so)
