@@fredericozgur7845 it will be coming, might be a few weeks. I forgot how good this video was, the sound is actually pretty good, and this is my favorite lineup of karate/time period of the band. This is a great set from them.
Just posted my other Karate video from 1997, also with the 4 piece lineup. Check it out. Someone else shot this as well, so i might have another version of this same show coming at another time. But this one is pretty good, a few sound issues, but overall great.
Amazing. I’ve been getting deeper and deeper into Karate this year, courtesy of the beautiful Numero reissues and have been listening to almost nothing else for the past few weeks. Amazing this exists and yes…..”cherry coke”:-)
Thank you sharing. Always loved Gasoline with the Codeine references and Cherry Coke with the Swirlies freakouts. A fun time when a lot of east coast groups were engaged in a lot of mutual admiration. Saw them a few times with this lineup before Eamonn left for med school.
Setlist: 1. Gasoline 2. Cherry Coke 3. Caffeine or me? 4. This, Plus Slow Song 5. On Cutting 6. New New 7. It's 98 Stop 8. Die Die 9. Today or Tomorrow
Thanks a lot for uploading this video. The quality is considerably good and the fact they play Cherry Coke, it makes everything a hundred times better. Don't trust anyone who doesn't like Karate.
Karate live in Columbia, Mo 2/16/1997. At Memorial Union on the MU campus. Sponsored by KCOU 88.1 FM. Also on the show were local bands, Product 19 and Stout.
Just found this today and it's so amazing! Don't think I've seen most of these songs in any other live vid on youtube. I was so incredibly bummed when it cut out during New Martini though :(
If you’re a die hard karate fan like me- search “Karate Tour Documentary” for an amazing half hour of footage from 1998-2004. Had no idea there was a doc for these guys. (This isn’t self promotion I didn’t make it-some German I think).
Any day a new karate live video surfaces on youtube it's a happy day.
I have another one from the same year, also in Columbia, MO it also features the 4 piece lineup. I will try to get it up ASAP.
@@justinnardy3333 Please! I'll be very grateful. This one is one of their best sets I have ever seen on TH-cam.

just unreal how good these guys are. the outro for cherry coke is like heaven
The space, the pauses, the lyrics. I mean, it doesn’t even compare with today’s stuff. Totally different wave. I was 14.
the sound on this is unbelievably good
You can tell how tight they sounded in a room live, even on a sketchy vhs. So good.
The band is unbelievably good

“Here comes my ride, she said...”
his lyrics are so true. Like the best fiction or poetry. Thanks for the post,
