Breakfast, Swim 2 hours, 30 minute abs and mobility work, 2nd Breakfast, 1-2 classes, mid morning snack & coffee, lunch, class, pre training snack (2pm), swim 2 hours, weights 1 hour, dinner and once a week a 2.5 hour evening class... 9-10 swims/week
Sounds like your coach didn't know wtf he was doing. You were over trained like crazy.

Video came up in my recommended and I gave it a watch because i was intrigued. Took me way longer than it should to realise we used to be in the same A-Level Psychology class at college! I was always in awe at you commitment then, glad to see your still smashing it all these years later!
Oh girl, you remind me of my old days when I was a competitive swimmer, representing my country. I quit when I was a teenager, started as a 4 yr old. It got to a point, I was so tired that I was hiding in the toilets pretending to be sick. My couch spoke to me, understood and told my father. I thought he'd be very disappointed but he took it well.
Now, I am back in the pool after many years, enjoying swimming again as I injured my lower back on a loaded leg press and bulged my discs, plus been suffering from sciatica for 3 months now. So funilly, I am back to the pool 🙈🙈
Same as you I used to be a professional swimmer and then I left swimming but join the military and then I had slipped disc and sciatica problem while serving in armed forces, and suffering from one year but I’m back to pool now and have you recovered yet from injury?

I've already recoved from sciatica and back at the gym, doing just lighter sessions, being super cautious. Still swimming 2 to 3 times a week, it's tough but love being in the pool agai 😂😂
How is your progress going?
@@katk8386 unfortunately I’m still in pain and I been seeing physio and chiropractor but I guess chiropractor is really helping me out with my injury and I’m just wondering if it will get better or that will be for lifetime with me. 🤔
How did you recover so quickly?
@@WaseemKhan-fc4pk sorry to hear your pain is still ongoing. It took me almost 4 months to live without any pain again. I religiously stretched and did exercises to ease the sciatica...twice a day. Bridges, cobra, cat and cow etc. Look them up on you tube n online. Be positive and hold your core properly. Walking and swimming helped me a lot.
I am back at the gym now, doing lighter weights but I can still feel the area is weaker. Don't rush into things. It can take up to 2 years to recover. Just be kind to yourself.

I know, right? It's insane what muscle memory can do! Although I bet her stroke count will burn on her brain forever given how much she used to train 😂
Your video reminded me my old “glory” days, when I used to swim too. I know exactly the struggles you faced... But quitting swimming was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I am so happy you didn’t regret it! Can’t wait for pools and gyms to be open again in Greece so that I can have my sessions again as a girl who just enjoys working out.

I can not understand how you guys are saying how glad you are for quitting swim but I could never. Swim is one of the things I truly love. I just can’t wrap my head around it 😂
Took over my life and to the level I did it it came really easily become Unenjoyable ☹️
I quit swimming October 2019 and I have no idea how I ever got up at 4:30 trained for 2 hours and went to school then trained for another two hours then when I got home it was all schoolwork😩

This gives me so much motivation because I’ve been swimming on and off since 2012 but this year especially I’ve been trying to work hard on the swimming part but it’s also been hard because of Covid so my team and I haven’t had a pool in a couple months but we have dryland and this video is keeping my high hopes at a level where maybe one day I can achieve something that’s greatSo thank you for posting something like this

The way this triggered my inner swimmer was amazing! OMG. now I'm gonna hop in a pool, after months of not swimming! ahaha ALSO triggered to cold pools YIKES, i remember being able to feel my bones trying to move and shivering the entire swim!

Training as someone who is nearly sixty after not having done so for a number of years is very different to training when I was 18. For one thing the recovery time is longer and all the injuries that one has accumulated over the years come back to haunt you.
I stated hard but yep badly aggravated an old rotor cuff injury and I the pain was unbelievable, so am resting it but slowly getting better and taking the training a little bit slower

I injured myself through weightlifting and running. My chiropractor told me that if I want to "workout" I can do body weights or swim. I want to get into swimming, but I want to do it the right way. Any types for becoming a swimmer?

I used to swim 8 times a week for Leicester and quit a few years ago, this made me miss competitive swimming so much :(, i still go but only for fun and fitness x
