I have made these for about five years now having tried out a couple of different veggie recipes previously. They taste wonderful and always come out well and do have a similar 'mouth feel' to standard sausage rolls. I have also varied the contents with a bit of mushroom added a couple of times and that also works well. Thanks to you, these are part of out family's Christmas tradition.
I made these today, my family didn't even detect they were vegetarian, the texture of the filling is just like traditional pork sausage. Thank you Chetna for creating a great recipe. I topped mine with Nigella seeds which really tasted delicious
Very interesting Chetna. I have used a very mushroomy leftover Risotto in the past for the same effect. My veggie friends love them and now make their own.
They look scruffy and I will make them for Christmas. I would like to get ahead so please can you tell me if I can prepare and freeze before baking successfully?

That looks incredibly yummy! I think I'm also going to try this with a samosa filling. I love samosas, but I don't like to eat things that are deep fried in oil, so this is a really good alternative :-)

I have made a similar version that used double cream as a binder instead of egg. I am going to try Chetna's veggie rolls as well.
