This arrangement of Chicago’s Make Me Smile brings back some wonderful memories of when I was a junior high band instructor, grades 7-9. We had a jazz band for grades 8 and 9. I wrote an arrangement of Make Me Smile for this jazz band. The song was popular and the kids loved it. We had a great student experience when the band was invited as one of two junior high jazz bands to the Glassboro Jazz Festival in NJ. The kids, dressed smartly in jackets and ties and dresses for the girls, and performed this at the festival for a panel of judges. As the kids sat after their performance, the judges went down the line offering their comments on how well the band performed. (That the judges were surprised is an understatement.) Seeing the faces of these young students hearing praises of their performance was one of the most emotional and proud moments of my career in band & instrumental music at the junior high level.
I must have blinked. Where's Keith? I'll always love Chicago. If I even had the chance to play guitar for them, I swear, I would woodshed Terry's original solo. It's a jaw dropper, even today.
The band probably DOESN'T READ THIS BUT THEY SHOULD. My name is Lisa from schenectady ny..I've since moved to Massachusetts ..I've seen them 16 times. Spac proctor theater. And in massive and ri. They make days
Ik heb de indruk dat de vocale mix moet aangepast worden, in die zin dat de vocalen scherper en luider dienen door te klinken bij een optreden van the band. Een kleine suggestie van mijnentwege!
Please, give this old narrative up! Terry died. Peter left (and couldn't hang with these guys now BTW, and Danny has been gone forever. THESE guys are keeping this great music alive. Can't we just enjoy it without all this, "not the same without narrative".....move on

These guys have been singing together for such a long time - and they’ve still got it!
Always a favorite..
Makes ME SMILE
peace ✌️ 2023
It's a tough song to sing when you had a legend like Terry Kath make this a signature song for Chicago.
Saw them in Cherokee NC, they were fantastic! Sounds like 10 horn section. Would see them again! One of my favorite bands.
Just saw them last night at Symphony Hall in Springfield MA. Great show. Lots of fun.
One of the greatest bands ever!
Saw them 7- 1-23 in New Hampshire and they were terrific. They made me smile 😊

Keith broke a hand pretty badly last year and decided to retire when he simply couldn’t play up to his own standards.
God these guys still have it!
always have....always will! They are musical craftsman!
Say what you want about them (yay or nay)...this is true musicianship on display...a 'lost' art nowadays.
The band probably DOESN'T READ THIS BUT THEY SHOULD. My name is Lisa from schenectady ny..I've since moved to Massachusetts ..I've seen them 16 times. Spac proctor theater. And in massive and ri. They make days
The way Pankow throws his ‘bone around ! I wonder if he ever loses the slide hahahah. Happens to me !
questa si chiama vera musica.
Terry how we miss you

Good on you 🐱🐱🐱🐱
Is that Lamm sounding so much like Terry Kath?
So sad without Peter Cetera
Lacks Terry's masculinity.
Pretty good job here, but no one can match Terry Kath vocals on this song.
Still a good band just doesn't match the original band with Terry Kath and Peter Cetera.
DITTO
And Danny Seraphine
Danny's role and impact was huge. Terry was the soul and Peter the voice.
Please, give this old narrative up! Terry died. Peter left (and couldn't hang with these guys now BTW, and Danny has been gone forever. THESE guys are keeping this great music alive. Can't we just enjoy it without all this, "not the same without narrative".....move on
Amen.
Yeh not Chicago without Peter...sorry...
or without Terry Kath and Danny Seraphine
Que les paso? Chicago ya no es el mismo, y con tantos elementos. Yo siempre he sido fan de Chicago, pero creo que ya es tiempo de retirarse. Saludos
They got old, still love them for the memories!👍
Por favor... oiganse, ya no son CHICAGO.
Walt is missing.
Health issues...Reports are that he has developed Alzheimer’s.
@@mikeamos6720 Wow so sorry to hear that. Thanks for sharing.
Walter parrazader is my favorite 😢😢
NOTICE: Walter Parazaider is still with the band, but he no longer tours with the group as much anymore due to health issues
Or Terry Kath ?
If you’re not the majority of the original members, aren’t you just a cover band?
I believe they still have three still playing, two horns and keyboard.
Hey guys why dont you let neil sing make smile i think
It will be good.just like he sang FREE.
Put a guitar Neal Donell's hands so it doesn't look like Joe Biden walking around aimlessly on the stage
the guitarist is weak.....SORRY !
Well he's NOT Terry Kath!
No guitarist is weak at that level
Just pretenders really..
Whatever That Suppose To mean.
