Yeah I don't know if I could play Dead Space in VR. Resi 7's first half and parts of the second half were terrifying enough. My friends keep trying to get me to play Alien Isolation in VR but I won't because I can barely play that game for half an hour on a flat screen.
The creators of Dead Space said that one of their main inspirations behind the game was RE4….Hopefully they’ll feel inspired again to port it to VR once they see the success of RE4 VR
i personally think dead space would be amazing in vr, mainly because there is the wii version which was a rail shooter, and it would be very easy to port the assets into vr and hand tracking and bingo bango u got dead space vr

I'm so happy to see that I'm not the only one who goes over the top in getting immersed in this world. Ex: Playing with the skulls knocking them around, petting and naming the dog, playing on the typewriter, etc. VR just adds so much to the experience in little ways you never knew you needed 😂
I watched about 10 minutes of this and said....ok I'm buying this immediately. Holy shit. What a great experience. Once you load in and start walking around you're absolutely right, videos do it no justice. The environments in this game are more immersive than almost any VR game I've played. I had this feeling like, wow I'm actually here! And the combat can get intense. I wasn't as experienced as you so I was fumbling a bit and forgetting to reload and heal myself. Died my first attempt at fighting the village. By the end of a 2 hour session, I was sweating and physically tired. People don't realize how physical these VR games can be. Overall, a fantastic experience and I'm only an hour in!
I’m thinking about getting this does it compare to a console cause I got the Xbox series x and the game didn’t quite get me even though I played every resident evil?
Im playing RE4 for the first time this way and its honestly blowing my mind. Im happy i get to experience this game in this way as my first play threw ever.

For those who have played it om flat screens, this VR version is totally worth it. Graphics is super clean and the gameplay in VR is just super fun. I was also skeptical but now I am glad to have pulled the trigger.
As someone who played VR RE4 for the first time yesterday, (using full immersion hand controls), it’s seriously so much more awesome, scary and heart-pounding. Feels real!
I'm about half way through the game already and it's so good! Everything is exactly how I remembered it back when it first came out and I was scared turning every corner. 😅 Worth every penny in my opinion. I really hope other old games get ported to VR. My mind is going crazy thinking about all the possibilities!

@@sourchai7367 well it depends. For me, Resident Evil 4 has a place in my heart. It’s incredibly nostalgic to me personally, so it’s hard for me to look at it without bias. But if you’re looking for a shooter that has a lot of content and a good story, then I do recommend it. However, it’s only single player, so it won’t be that re-playable. It’s a great game if you have the $40 bucks laying around! I recommend, but expect it to be a “perfect” game. 😉

No Mercenaries/Ada is a baffling omission. Having some kind of quick jump-in arcade mode would have made this an absolute complete package. I hope they add it. Edit: Mercs mode is coming as free dlc!

The cutscenes don’t bother me in game but the QTEs during gameplay and going up and down ladders etc was annoying, not game breaking by any stretch but still annoying. It’s my first time playing Resident Evil 4 and I am LOVING it, only about 2 hours in so far but it is truly epic!
You can disable the cutscenes when going through windows and ladders!!! go to the menu and choose '1st person' for those events. It's way more immersive that way.
@@Gonzax I have been playing with 1st person mode. even with 1st person mode on you still have mini cutscenes for jumping out windows and picking up ladders etc

I’ve watched a good amount of people play this game but never seen anyone duel wield. Played this game entirely and once I got semi auto shotguns and the smg I just ran that duel wielding the entire time or a pistol and knife combo which helped out a lot.

I just finished RE4 VR and it was my first time playing it (although I played RE2 back then). Overall they did a fantastic job in porting the game to VR and the game is really fun. This really show the potential of converting old games to VR.
This looks incredible. Just ordered my first VR headset last night, Quest 2, which is arriving tomorrow. Never played any Resident Evil games, but it looks like I’m in for a treat! I hope they port more games from this generation, as it looks amazing on Quest and not too taxing on the system like more recent ports like Grid Legends, so no major graphic fidelity sacrifices needed to run properly.

Well thank you for this information, My wife got the Quest 2 for Christmas and it came with this game. I was missing about half of what you can do in it (kill crows, smash boxes for loot) I always died in that first little village. Ran out of ammo and forgot to use my knife. Creepy game!! 1st time VR for me. Loving it!!! Thanks again!!

Yes I have played and beaten re4 many times and it's the reason I just bought the quest 2 lol re4 was my first purchase, its so fun and I love how I can see inside the world of this beautiful game and get to really examine everything, I am currently at the chicken farm with Ashley and yes she is still a pain in the ass to deal with lol.

I am really excited for Resident Evil 4 VR despite the thing's cut out. Maybe later on they will add some stuff back, as well as new stuff. They should add new weapons and costumes to the game!
Playing resident 4 in VR gave me back that magic I've been missing, like how I felt when I played Vice City for the first time, I haven't felt that way In years tbh.

The issue is that Facebook is choosing specifically exclusivity for the quest 2, when they would still make the same money from people buying it for the rift s or other headsets than oculus using revive. It cannot be that hard to port this game to run on a PC, they are just choosing not to.

I just bought two of these VR headsets and played the game for a few hours but have not had much time to binge play it. I am looking forward to when things are less crazy in my life to spend some times on this game. So far from what I have played the ambience in this game is awesome and the gameplay is fun.
I've tried re4 on multiple systems. And I usually never get far because I suck at shooting and often run out of ammo before I can kill everyone. But I got a quest 2 today and this video makes me want to play it. It looks so smooth and maybe if I'm physically aiming a gun I might be able to actually do well with it.
Looks amazing! But I dunno if my nerves are up to this game. BTW, the first "g" in gigante is pronounced like the "h" in hotel and the second "g" like the second "g" in gigabite.

My one concern is how scary it would be. I don't do scary games, RE4 is about my absolute limit. I played it because a friend insisted, and it was okay, I liked the experience... but VR would likely ramp the scares up quite a bit!

Man, I've been REALLY bummed that RE4 won't be available on the Q1 at launch and seeing this gameplay makes me even more upset. Hopefully the devs add Q1 and/or PCVR support later down the road. While I'm familiar with this franchise, I've never actually played it before, so it'd be really awesome to be able to experience this in VR!
I think it might be possible to side load it onto the quest one. Don't quote me on that though. Still, it might be worth a shot if the quest one is all you got.
im about three hours into RE4VR. it's awesome but can become overwhelming when surrounded by enemies, and i need to use the teleportation feature to avoid motion sickness
Re4 is my first vr experience, and I'm trying to get over the motion sickness by just playing it a little bit at a time and increasing the time slowly! I tried the teleportation but it was unbearably clunky and disorienting for me lol
@@Xweetibird oh no, keep trying to get your VR legs, it does take a while. ive had several people try it out and teleportation has been the most comfortable for most people, but a few had the opposite effect and felt much better moving with the camera instead of teleporting.
@@_PatrickStar that's for sure been my exact experience! My friend said she could only play it by teleportation, and I was the exact opposite. I have a tendency to not stand still anyways, I'm always shifting my weight, so I think the fact that I'm physically moving in some way at all times probably helps too. It's not bad at all so far so long as I don't cover a lot of ground at once unless I'm walking instead of moving around full speed.
God I can't wait to hear that soundtrack again. I'm actually getting an OQ2 because of this game. Played it on Wii when that came out, still have fond memories over a decade later
Can't wait to play this but a bit put off by the price. $39.99 is a lot for a modified 16 year old game that's had a lot of content removed (story expansion & mercenaries).
I think it's actually quite cheap. Most games are 60-70€, 40€ is a bargain IMO. I can't understand how so many people complain about VR prices when they're much cheaper than their flat counterparts. I do understand it for 3-4 hour games but a 20 hour game like this??
@@Gonzax the problem with the pricing in most vr games is that on quest you're usually paying 25-35$ for 3 or 4 hours of game play, while on pcvr you can pay 10 or 20$ for dozens of hours of vr game play.

Nice job, it’s cool to see more extensive gameplay footage with your review and thoughts, I wish more videos did that. I was never a big RE fan, I’ve tried them multiple times over the years (including the recent RE2 remake), but couldn’t get into them for various reasons. This game though is a blast, and having never played it previously, it’s quite an amazing experience so far.
Resident evil 4 is my all time favorite game. I've beaten it in every single system it's ever been on. You better believe in getting a quest 2 JUST to beat it in there. It looks way better than I was expecting

well re4 was originally supposed to be a gamecube exclusive, so id imagine there's a good chance of this version being ported to pc eventually.
Everything is a timed exclusive. Just like PSVR games show up eventually on PC and Quest, this will show up on the PC and PSVR.

This game is highly addictive, be warned hours can go by without you noticing until the headset warns about low battery

Well thank you for this information, My wife got the Quest 2 for Christmas and it came with this game. I was missing about half of what you can do in it (kill crows, smash boxes for loot) I always died in that first little village. Ran out of ammo and forgot to use my knife. Creepy game!! 1st time VR for me. Loving it!!! Thanks again!!

there is a half life alyx mod that puts in you in rapture and its pretty cool

bought it and used a chrome extension to get the apk and put it on my quest 1 works perfectly and was the most fun ive had in vr

I bought the OQ2 last month in anticipation of these game.

Yes I have played and beaten re4 many times and it's the reason I just bought the quest 2 lol re4 was my first purchase, its so fun and I love how I can see inside the world of this beautiful game and get to really examine everything, I am currently at the chicken farm with Ashley and yes she is still a pain in the ass to deal with lol.

Tech will become cheaper to make so more companies can compete with prices. I understand the problems with fb but I'm not anti just because. All companies do it and already know everything about you. It's just fb got caught. There will be governments and alot of corruption in the "metaverse" in 20 years but hey what's knew, we're human🤷♂️🤦♂️🤪🙃

I am really excited for Resident Evil 4 VR despite the thing's cut out. Maybe later on they will add some stuff back, as well as new stuff. They should add new weapons and costumes to the game!

Playing resident 4 in VR gave me back that magic I've been missing, like how I felt when I played Vice City for the first time, I haven't felt that way In years tbh.

The issue is that Facebook is choosing specifically exclusivity for the quest 2, when they would still make the same money from people buying it for the rift s or other headsets than oculus using revive. It cannot be that hard to port this game to run on a PC, they are just choosing not to.

I just bought two of these VR headsets and played the game for a few hours but have not had much time to binge play it. I am looking forward to when things are less crazy in my life to spend some times on this game. So far from what I have played the ambience in this game is awesome and the gameplay is fun.
PSA: You can play it on the Quest 1. It's a shady way but so far has been flawless to me

My wife bought me this for Christmas and it is incredible and mind blowing just like how i played it in gamecube
I've tried re4 on multiple systems. And I usually never get far because I suck at shooting and often run out of ammo before I can kill everyone. But I got a quest 2 today and this video makes me want to play it. It looks so smooth and maybe if I'm physically aiming a gun I might be able to actually do well with it.

My one concern is how scary it would be. I don't do scary games, RE4 is about my absolute limit. I played it because a friend insisted, and it was okay, I liked the experience... but VR would likely ramp the scares up quite a bit!

Man, I've been REALLY bummed that RE4 won't be available on the Q1 at launch and seeing this gameplay makes me even more upset. Hopefully the devs add Q1 and/or PCVR support later down the road. While I'm familiar with this franchise, I've never actually played it before, so it'd be really awesome to be able to experience this in VR!
I think it might be possible to side load it onto the quest one. Don't quote me on that though. Still, it might be worth a shot if the quest one is all you got.

The Wii version was also my fav prior to this VR version []-)
im about three hours into RE4VR. it's awesome but can become overwhelming when surrounded by enemies, and i need to use the teleportation feature to avoid motion sickness
Re4 is my first vr experience, and I'm trying to get over the motion sickness by just playing it a little bit at a time and increasing the time slowly! I tried the teleportation but it was unbearably clunky and disorienting for me lol
@@Xweetibird oh no, keep trying to get your VR legs, it does take a while.
ive had several people try it out and teleportation has been the most comfortable for most people, but a few had the opposite effect and felt much better moving with the camera instead of teleporting.
@@_PatrickStar that's for sure been my exact experience! My friend said she could only play it by teleportation, and I was the exact opposite. I have a tendency to not stand still anyways, I'm always shifting my weight, so I think the fact that I'm physically moving in some way at all times probably helps too. It's not bad at all so far so long as I don't cover a lot of ground at once unless I'm walking instead of moving around full speed.
God I can't wait to hear that soundtrack again. I'm actually getting an OQ2 because of this game. Played it on Wii when that came out, still have fond memories over a decade later
Can't wait to play this but a bit put off by the price. $39.99 is a lot for a modified 16 year old game that's had a lot of content removed (story expansion & mercenaries).

I think it's actually quite cheap. Most games are 60-70€, 40€ is a bargain IMO. I can't understand how so many people complain about VR prices when they're much cheaper than their flat counterparts. I do understand it for 3-4 hour games but a 20 hour game like this??
@@Gonzax the problem with the pricing in most vr games is that on quest you're usually paying 25-35$ for 3 or 4 hours of game play, while on pcvr you can pay 10 or 20$ for dozens of hours of vr game play.
To add a second comment, this is a must have in your library, I sincerely hope armature keeps going. They have a real winner on their hands.

Nice job, it’s cool to see more extensive gameplay footage with your review and thoughts, I wish more videos did that. I was never a big RE fan, I’ve tried them multiple times over the years (including the recent RE2 remake), but couldn’t get into them for various reasons. This game though is a blast, and having never played it previously, it’s quite an amazing experience so far.
Resident evil 4 is my all time favorite game. I've beaten it in every single system it's ever been on. You better believe in getting a quest 2 JUST to beat it in there. It looks way better than I was expecting
