  • This year in spring; I visited the castle of Guedelon with my father. I go there often, as my grandfather lives there. I was partly there to take measurements for a model that I am planing to make of the castle for miniature games.
    I am sorry for the sound quality, I didn't have the proper equipment on myself.

    It's good to see how the castle is coming along, I have been following it's progress for about 8or9 years. Such wonderful craftsmanship. Good to see the old skills are still alive. Notice how relatively quiet the site is compared to a modern building site😊

      It is not quiet, hearing the stone cutters, the blacksmith, the animals... but they are much more enjoyable aounds

I've tried to keep up since the very earliest days but so much content is silent or in French. When I first found this project, they had basically nothing built and were still working on outbuildings and infrastructure. I check in every six months or so, looking for new content.

    I know it is a difficult thing to pull off, but I wish it was bigger, not for the glamour, but so we can have more things like hidden passages, storages, nice tower rooms.. idk things we see in games. if I were rich or having some money spare I'd support the expansion or a new project to create more jobs related to REAL art, tradition and good enviroments.

    Thank you for the update. It is so hard to stay in touch from far off Australia.
    We first heard of Guedélon about 10 years ago. We were able to visit it one very hot July day in 2019 and fell in love with the whole concept.

    The ropes used for heavy lifting is NOT made in Guédelon. All saftey precautions are based on modern standards to not take any risks.
    So the thick rope is certified to make sure no accidents occur due to "homemade"and not quality proven rope.

    • @LAtelierdelaSentinelle
      @LAtelierdelaSentinelle  10 หลายเดือนก่อน
