- Ralph welcomes back Hassan El-Tayyab, the Legislative Director for Middle East policy at the Friends Committee on National Legislation to talk about the FCNL's recent lobbying efforts in support of a ceasefire in Gaza, as well as the recently-introduced bill to restore funding to UNRWA. Then, Ralph is joined by journalist Rachel Corbett to discuss her recent article for the NY Times Magazine "The For-Profit City That Might Come Crashing Down" about Próspera, the private, for-profit city off the coast of Honduras. Finally, our resident international-law expert Bruce Fein stops by to discuss Israel's recent coordinated attacks in Lebanon.

The story about for-profit cities reminds me of an episode of The Rockford Files in which there was an exclusive club where only members were allowed to gain entry passed the front door, but members were known to be influential people like doctors, lawyers, judges and congressmen and women, professional athletes and other celebrities. Jim Rockford, played by James Garner, got involved with a case where somebody linked to the club had died under suspicious circumstances. His investigation turned up illegal activity in trading of controlled substances. The story also reminded me of the Jeffrey Epstein case. The whole thing sounds like it can be summed up with the phrase: privacy for naughtiness, pleasure and profit. (.. with a whole lot of all four.) It seems to be the next step in the separation of the classes between the mega rich and everyone else.
Corporate cities sound like the worst version of an HOA. People signing contracts and becoming financially burdened by bogus files.
One of the most amazing things Ralph Nader explained for me was how our major media networks took over the airwaves, supposedly by 'leasing' them from the American people. Would love a revisit, I don't think many people today know the convoluted story but what an eye-opener!

Private corporate cities: what a crappy idea! Totally opposite from any idea of a democratized enterprise. 😠

Try including the actual left; for example the Green Party (Jill Stein), Cornel West, and parties such as The Socialist Alternative.
Ralph is going to tell his audience that they have to vote blue no matter who even while the blue is backing this g3n0c!de and now our tax dollars are funding attacks on Lebanon, where Ralph's ancestors came from...
Could you bring on David Brock who just wrote Stench: The Making of the Thomas Court and the Unmaking of America?
