I actually like the style of that LED strip, but I'm turned off by the fitment issues. Do you know of any LED strips I could fit into a standard OEM assembly?
If you just want a solid color led most of the led and rgb strips from eBay work fine. If you want a special color changing version lightingTrendz has good quality lights
@@89imp03 I think an RGBW option would be great, particularly for a nice icy blue color to go with the white Impala. I don't recall seeing anything on their site that wasn't amber/white, but I'll look again
So did you just cut the positive and negative wire to the parking light and then take the positive and negative to the led drl bar and put them together ?
The signal light bulb has 3 wires, I have the drl strip wired to the power wire from that which is either a white wire or a red wire depending on when it was made. Then you can ground it with the black wire on the harness
Yeah, it's a real small led that lights up the whole bar. I haven't found the exact led yet to try but I think it can be done. It's sort of like the led in the door projectors people get
Chevy dreams they're aight. The bar isn't as bright as the bar in the spec d headlights but its a cool look. I already repainted mine and added a halo ring
The finished video is up, I just haven't had a chance to make the video of the process since my editing laptop was stolen over the holidays. And somebody bought the old headlights last week
Thanks for all the help you’ve been giving me, I have an impala just like yours and was wondering where you mounted your control box for the halos at also?
@@cocitydon I had it tucked behind the grill, under the plastic cover for the hood latch. Some people put it behind the headlights tucked by the battery
Nice work like aways.....do u use an oven or heat gun to open ur headlights
Edward Pettigrew both depending on the lights but the oven is the best for oem lights
Got a '15 limited. Found these exact on amazon. Got em otw. Preciate the tutorial
💯 no problem, you'll like em

Do I need to hook up those two lose wires to anything at all? Is it necessary?
Yes, should see tbat near the beginning. Those are power and negative for the led strip
I just bought these did you ever get them to change colors if so how
Yes and no. The LEDs worked but they weren't that bright in the bar and when I added the halos they made the bar pretty much unnoticeable
Thanks for posting this video helped me out a lot
No problem 💯
So did you just cut the positive and negative wire to the parking light and then take the positive and negative to the led drl bar and put them together ?
Yep that's it. Trimmed the insulation away from the park lights wires and just wrapped the drl wires around it then taped it all up
@@89imp03 I have an 04 impala would it make a diffrents if the bulb was white black wires and the drl wiring is black red?
Black is always ground. Red and white are interchangable for power
@@89imp03 so it is okay too hook red/white together?
Yeah they're both power, it'll work
On the spec d lights what’s wires did u use to tab in led bar(dsl)
Ok.. Daytime Running lights...So does the led bar run by itself in broad daylight with the vehicle in neutral? OR What?
I had it wired to come on whenever the park lights are on
The 11 impala like mine should have built in DLR function so the new light should be able to work with said function
Can u also post a video on how to tap the dsl with park lights I need help...

is it possible to not run the DRL i personally dont like them. i just like the housing
Yeah you don't have to connect them. Or if you only want them on at certain times you can wire them up to a switch
@@89imp03 thanks dude I seen your other vid where you actually take em out .
@@useyonina_ no problem. Mine is pretty much only the Halo now since the new led for the bar didn't light it up as bright as the original LED did

Could i wire the led bar To The turn signals?
Yeah you can if you want to
89imp03 would it be the same way? Red to red? Black to black?
@@thaddeuspierce1889 same idea but the colors for the signal light wire will be different. That way the bar will only light up when you signal
89imp03 ok cool appreciate it
@@thaddeuspierce1889 no problem
Do you need a decoder for an 08 Impala for LED lights
I didn't use anything extra for mine. You'll need resistors if you get LED signal lights to stop the hyperflash but that's it
What's ur bake time I'm thinking about reconstructing my whole headlights. ..got ideas
Edward Pettigrew the camaro lights I just did was 10 minutes at 215° some people do more heat or longer time but I'm a little conservative
Big bruh can you swap the strip to a rgb
H.a.W.g Filez I'm gonna try it either tonight or tomorrow and find out
Would you do the halo also..?
H.a.W.g Filez I'm not sure yet, once I get them open I'll try it out and see what fits/looks right
what kind of fuse did you use for the halos?
I didn't add any fuses. The DRL bar is connected directly to the park lights. The control box for the colorshift halos was ran directly to the battery
