Hey Ruben, there is something I know about Roblox's management of mods from an anonymous user. He explained that Roblox Mods are extremely underpaid (like $2/hr), high expectations and pressure, and obviously undertrained. As I know, some or a lot of mods are from India and only know not very much English and training. I don't know if it is in a specific country, but I know that the person who explained to people on reddit had proof that he worked there. He remained anonymous, so Roblox won't sue him.

I think what Ruben means by the title is that we blame moderators for things we contribute to. As customers we consume products that we pay for/use, ex. Roblox players playing Roblox and buying Robux. When problems arise, as customers we believe its right to 'protest' or speak out against decisions that we don't like but with big corpo's like ROBLOX that just doesn't affect them. The only tool we have to combat ROBLOX and get them to listen to us is by holding back our wallets and not feeding into ROBLOX's careless and evil actions. Why do we owe them an apology? My 2018 account got deleted with no bans or warnings which had a 4,000+ hours progress in different games, the reason did not even say anything, and it is forever gone now

To summarize, the video is about the fact that the higher ups in roblox are to blame due to poor management and protection of their consumer base rather than the moderators who are understaffed and overworked. He's not trying to say every moderator is an angel. No, there are definitely bad apples. Im glad someone finally said this because it is kinda unfair to be mad at the 1,600 moderators when they have to moderate 70 million daily users and over 5 billion accounts thats 43 thousand to one when only counting the people who play every day.
From a 2010 user and still exists. I had never seen roblox went down hill to the point that it reached the center of the earth. Of course, i witnessed everything. Seen adults being relationships with underage. 18+ items bypassing roblox moderations users attempting 18+ sessions in roblox games. Making unwanted games. It really sickening me to the point i even kept my distance with roblox day after day. I blamed roblox moderation from the start from the lack of moderation but didn't realize the struggle in their company. I dont blame them anymore but makes me question on whats going on with roblox higher ups and what to do with their current situation.
2014 user here. Can agree. Too many things have fallen over the years, and so far the higher ups don't care about it. Mods however, are doing their best, whether it be from that community or it's from Roblox. But I gave up thinking about it because I accepted the fact that, no matter what Roblox does, it's cursed and doomed to fall sooner or later.

Someone I knew had a friend of a friend who was a roblox mod. As I quote Roblox management said "you need to move to California or your lose your job" so they want people in office and that's a way they are losing people.
I've been going around recently and reporting the said "pedo" accounts and have gotten over 13 banned so far. And it didnt take me long to realize that the roblox moderation teams numbers simply didnt add up. The amount of accounts, assets, and other things that are created per day are insanely high. For a mere 1,600 people to manage the thousands upon thousands of things per day seemed a little tiring, overworking, and stressing. Im really glad you took the time to show this and bring this into the light of the public. We seriously do owe the moderation team an apology

I consider myself to have a really good ear for it but i just didnt notice till i saw the meme in the community tab. To be honest, i think if roblox want to make their games for older people and relate to mature stuff they better make seperate app. One for kids and one for teen/adults.

I've always tried my best to report accounts that obviously break Roblox's guidelines (Scamming, genuine harrassment, etc.) The main issue I see is that you don't get any like email or notice that your report has gone through, and is being reviewed (Or the account was successfully struck down) which might largely be part of why people think reporting doesn't work.
because theres 200 million roblox users, all the reports are managed by AI, the real roblox staff focus on stuff like european reports or support tickets, in cases like reporting games they're mostly managed by staff

There already is. It's just not being used in games (not available to the "public" with a simple search), rather videos and images, R34 NSFW content, etc.
The thing is, I could never fathom roblox being shut down however if this continues it might happen, there are plenty of good games the put AAA devs to shame (guts & blackpowder, centuria, dead ahead, ect. ect.) Roblox has a hundred million players every single day. Imagine hundreds, thousands of reports per minute. Hundreds of case by case exploiter and game reports that require manual evaluation. It's INSANE. No currently developed A.I could deal with something like this. Even a 99.99% perfect accurate AI will still result in thousands of false bans. There are two kinds of moderation in Roblox. Manual moderation and automatic moderation. If you wanna talk manual moderation, it’s bullshit. Plain and simple. The admins that get hired in real life and paid a salary in dollars just do not care about their jobs enough. Right now I can think of one specific situation out of all the other ones out there. This story is not lacking roblox fame, find a veteran player and he will most likely know about it. I’ll be telling you the story like I heard it. This is about a roblox developer named 1dev2, who made what used to be one of the most used free models in Roblox. The ones who have seen it might know it as the “Town of Robloxia”. Right when 1dev2 made the model, it was private, but somehow another guy called JuliusColes grabbed a copy and claimed the model was his and 1dev2 stole it. And what did the roblox staff do? They closed both accounts. Sent both accounts to shit and considered it over with. After that, 1dev2 created another account, 1dev3, and he’s still developing to this day. This guy’s a legitimate roblox relic, I have a lot of admiration for him. JuliusColes, following his full time professional asswipe career, created a youtube channel and he’s still throwing shit at people to this day, hoping to get the attention his parents denied him. To me, this is the best example that roblox staff are not to be trusted. That’s why whenever anyone brings out the topic, I tell them the same thing. Don’t trust them. You need help with anything, you can ask other players that you trust. But if you NEED their help, consider it as a last resource. Now if you wanna talk automatic moderation, it’s almost the same thing, with the difference that you don’t have as many chances of getting screwed over than with manual moderation. But don’t let the fact that it’s a robot or an algorithm fool you, these also experience major fails frequently, the best and most common example being the chat moderation, known as hashtags. I don’t think I have to tell you about that.
I feel bad for the whole moderation team, being worked down to the literal bone without any chances, I always thought they just outright replaced the entire team with AI, I didn't realize they decided to keep few and work them so heavily. Also I know this is completely off topic but I did not expect to see footage from literal years ago, since that footage at 8:27 is from atleast 2-5 years ago back when I used to play that game as a jetpack seller LMAO. I used to and still do rp in TWD rp. I am 15 now. At the time this took place I was around 13. There was a man that would rp, known as Jospeh Seed. He rped a cult in TWD called Eden's Gate, a straight up copy of Far Cry 5. At the time, he was very prominent in the game. The mods knew who he was, most of the playerbase did too. This man was about 18-20, though what he claimed his age was vary often. He would hit on many girls, that were 16-14, often. Eventually the mods of the game banned him, and then banned him again, and again. He was apparently IP banned, and I haven't seen him sense. One of my good friends that is a female could also testify of this. She was 14 at the time. Roblox does not care if its off platform, most of these events took place over Discord. He would still say things in the chat to people. Roblox does not care in the slightest.

I, too, have witnessed this problem, as I have gotten 2 1 day bans and a one week ban from not doing anything that is really going to genuinely hurt anybody. Once upon a time, there were two developers there main focuse was creating a physics engine for kids. After a couple of years, they realized the more people there was on their platform the more money they can make. You are one, among maybe a few or maybe hundreds of moderators at best. I've been going around recently and reporting the said "pedo" accounts and have gotten over 13 banned so far. And it didnt take me long to realize that the roblox moderation teams numbers simply didnt add up. The amount of accounts, assets, and other things that are created per day are insanely high. For a mere 1,600 people to manage the thousands upon thousands of things per day seemed a little tiring, overworking, and stressing. Im really glad you took the time to show this and bring this into the light of the public. We seriously do owe the moderation team an apology

I've always tried my best to report accounts that obviously break Roblox's guidelines (Scamming, genuine harrassment, etc.) The main issue I see is that you don't get any like email or notice that your report has gone through, and is being reviewed (Or the account was successfully struck down) which might largely be part of why people think reporting doesn't work.
you could easily just write their username down and check up on them and see if they're banned or not
because theres 200 million roblox users, all the reports are managed by AI, the real roblox staff focus on stuff like european reports or support tickets, in cases like reporting games they're mostly managed by staff

There are two kinds of moderation in Roblox. Manual moderation and automatic moderation.
If you wanna talk manual moderation, it’s bullshit. Plain and simple. The admins that get hired in real life and paid a salary in dollars just do not care about their jobs enough. Right now I can think of one specific situation out of all the other ones out there.
This story is not lacking roblox fame, find a veteran player and he will most likely know about it. I’ll be telling you the story like I heard it.
This is about a roblox developer named 1dev2, who made what used to be one of the most used free models in Roblox. The ones who have seen it might know it as the “Town of Robloxia”. Right when 1dev2 made the model, it was private, but somehow another guy called JuliusColes grabbed a copy and claimed the model was his and 1dev2 stole it.
And what did the roblox staff do?
They closed both accounts. Sent both accounts to shit and considered it over with. After that, 1dev2 created another account, 1dev3, and he’s still developing to this day. This guy’s a legitimate roblox relic, I have a lot of admiration for him.
JuliusColes, following his full time professional asswipe career, created a youtube channel and he’s still throwing shit at people to this day, hoping to get the attention his parents denied him.
To me, this is the best example that roblox staff are not to be trusted. That’s why whenever anyone brings out the topic, I tell them the same thing. Don’t trust them. You need help with anything, you can ask other players that you trust. But if you NEED their help, consider it as a last resource.
Now if you wanna talk automatic moderation, it’s almost the same thing, with the difference that you don’t have as many chances of getting screwed over than with manual moderation.
But don’t let the fact that it’s a robot or an algorithm fool you, these also experience major fails frequently, the best and most common example being the chat moderation, known as hashtags. I don’t think I have to tell you about that.

I used to and still do rp in TWD rp. I am 15 now. At the time this took place I was around 13. There was a man that would rp, known as Jospeh Seed. He rped a cult in TWD called Eden's Gate, a straight up copy of Far Cry 5. At the time, he was very prominent in the game. The mods knew who he was, most of the playerbase did too. This man was about 18-20, though what he claimed his age was vary often. He would hit on many girls, that were 16-14, often. Eventually the mods of the game banned him, and then banned him again, and again. He was apparently IP banned, and I haven't seen him sense. One of my good friends that is a female could also testify of this. She was 14 at the time. Roblox does not care if its off platform, most of these events took place over Discord. He would still say things in the chat to people. Roblox does not care in the slightest.

Once upon a time, there were two developers there main focuse was creating a physics engine for kids. After a couple of years, they realized the more people there was on their platform the more money they can make. Same thing happened with vrchat used to be small once it got big they became the next corporate company.
You are right about one thing, this is reality. Many people don’t understand how much stress moderation truly is. If you want the basic rundown of the situation of any for, of moderation. You are one, among maybe a few or maybe hundreds of moderators at best. You can’t possibly counter every single predator, act of erp, or inappropriate activity every single time no matter how big the moderator team is.

2:01 ye, but roblox is kinda evil because in their terms and services its writen that you can not sue them unless you go thru a process that 9 year olds 100% know, and the terms and services is not only "hidden", its very long with comlicated terms that im sure every kid would want to read. And if you pay robux, which is literally what every roblox kids wants, you have to 'sign" the terms and services, which as i previously discussed, its very hidden behind a VERY big green button
