Riding a 2014 Triglide for about 4 years and love it. Getting harder to hold up a 700 lb plus bike as good old age kicks in. Still 1 up on my bike but with wife on board this is the way to go. It takes a little getting used to but it's second nature now. Don't regret going three wheel.
Just picked up my new 2021 Tri Glide in the billiard red color this morning, added a few accessories and it was gorgeous! Then I spent the rest of a beautiful 80F day making small trips around northern Ohio and watching other bikers drooling around it. Man that felt good! Had to give up 2 wheeling it 20 years ago+ due to back problems so when I saw this bike I knew it was time to try again. Now on the other hand. I fought this thing all day as I was trying to ride it like a 2 wheeler. It just doesn't work that way. Finally let the bike teach me how it wanted to be handled after almost 14 hrs of fighting with it. By the time I got home around 11:00 I think I figured it out. Will try again in the morning if it is another nice day. I don't give up easy and besides I have $43000+ (inc taxes) invested that I can't afford to lose. And it is a beautiful bike after all. ; )
My wife has MS, and the leaning of the motorcycle caused her vertigo, but the TriGlide doesn’t cause her any issues. I had a 2010 with a stage 2 kit in the 103, but upgraded to a 2020 in October. Love it.
I blew my knee out and couldnt ride my 2015 1200 Sportster anymore so I had it converted to a trike with a Frankenstein conversion kit. Wow what a difference. I've ridden 2 wheels for 35 years and learning the trike was like starting all over again. Its ok though...still out there!
Lol 😂, I've been riding bikes for over 45 years now, and I've been riding a trike for over 5 years now and I love it, that's the only thing I miss is the lean, I have a 17 Tri Glide I bought new in 17 and people can say whatever they want to about trikes, but if they haven't never ridden one they don't know what they are missing, and if you put a set of Ape's on it the steering is a lot easier, I still do ride my SPS once in a while, but we do enjoy our Tri Glide, and it's safer in the rain too, good luck brother 💯🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
Thanks so much for watching and I agree. Only the lean is what's missing but again, a fantastic way to ride if you don't want/or can't ride a two wheeler. Ride safely and hope to see you on the next video.
Your sure exactly right... I did learn on a two wheel bike... just got me a freewheeler trike... man on man.. .just love it...I just cant get used to the heel clutch I still use the front clutch.... riding with the wind.... Varoooom
I know this Video is a Little older, But out of all of the Trike videos this is the BEST. I really want to Ride again but due to my Back riding a 2 Wheeler will be Almost Impossible. I have Heard so many Different Stories about Riding a HD Tri Glide that I really am still on the Fence, I am New Subscriber on your Now. Thank you again for a Great & Informative Video of the Tri Glide.
Just remember with that reverse you can overheat the motor that drives it and popped a little circuit breaker under the right cover you have to go in and reset it every once in a while and it will really pop if you forget to take the parking brake off
I've got a '17 phase IV 131 cu. in. I still use my knees to make some turns. It will do that. I love it. Got decades in riding 2 wheels now I have to do 3 wheel but I love the thing. I do cream the fenders now and then. Gotta repair the left on soon.
@@MotorcycleMonkey you're welcome, yes I rented it! I wanted one (also the Freewheeler) after I returned it. Felt like a dream riding it on the Pacific Coast Highway and around Southern California. I didn't get much flak as I thought I would considering my age (23) and it being a trike, a lot of people especially the ladies admired the ride. I learned it doesn't matter how old you are, ride what you want to ride. Reason I wanted a trike more was because of comfort
When I was fourteen I wanted to ride, but I was a 14 year old adrenaline junkie farm boy from Ohio and not a California soy boi. I am glad you did get your son to ride with you on the Trip-Glide.
Thanks for watching. I wish he'd ride with me more often but at least he did on this occasion. I've never heard the term California soy boi. Being from California...This is pretty darn funny. I'm going to steal that phrase for some of my friends around here. Have a great day...
I've made fun of my best friend, Paulie, for years for riding a tri-glide....referring to it as not a "real" bike but that has always just been friendly fire between friends. These are cool bikes and we've gone on rides together many times and we have a blast riding side by side. Clint is one of the coolest people I know and he does look good on that bike. We'll have to go on a ride soon!
When I was about your son's age I was the back passenger on a bike , I thought I was going to die and it was a city ride definitely not a sensation I enjoyed
Thanks for the video!! I was on the fence about a two wheeler or a trike. I was thinking the "cool points factor" will be lost, but, I think that the trikes are cool! I am nervous about riding a two-wheeler.
I find it a rougher ride then a motorcycle suspension wise it is fine trike is well made etc.but I'm having a hell of a time getting used to the idea that the back wheels do not follow the same path as when riding a motorcycle.
I looked at one at a dealership in Oklahoma and after seeing and hearing what you have to say, I'm a solid NO! This video and another one I watched demonstrated a lot of front end "bobble" and what appeared to be constant steering like they were fighting the rear end. PS. My 96 Honda Goldwing has a reverse in it. Harley Davidson is only 25-30 years behind......as usual.
Great vid! If you don’t mind. Me asking, how tall is Carmen? I’m interested in getting a triglide and my wife is 4’11”. Worried that the passenger floorboards are too low for her to sit comfortably. appreciate the review
Sorry for the late reply. I'm fairly sure that she'll be ok with the floorboards. Carmen is 5'3". She had no issues at all. I read your comment to her and asked her and she thinks your wife will be fine at 4'11". I hope this helps and thanks for watching. Let me know if you get one.
It was a bit concerning that I had a wider back end. I thought about that when I took corners or got near parked cars and yes, gas pumps. Have a great day and sorry for the late response.
I have a equilibrium trouble and that's the reason why I want to get a tri-glide is because my dad's got a Harley my uncle's got one and I want to go riding with them and I figured since I'm probably going to be going to college it be better for me I'm in granted the payments would be about the same as a car but the insurance would be way cheaper and I'll have I'll be able to save money to buy a car in the future
Difference between the Tri Glide and the Tri G 3 and Freewheeler is with the Glide you’re also turning the faring. Not with the other two so it will seem harder.
Deer are so bad in Kentucky I’m seriously considering 3 wheels. I KNOW I’m going to hit one sooner or later and I’d rather keep the wheels on the ground when I do. I just don’t like the idea of hitting the pavement over a damn deer. I miss one by a inch nearly every time I ride now and it guess it’s got me shook up
I have rented a trike it's amazing .I have to did agree the trike ride is a lot better than two wheel I have back issues and the ride is a lot better . The two weekends I rented the trike I over 600 for the two weekends

It's very nice, but how does it handle? I've tried the 21 spyder and it was like being on rails and supposed to go sometime in June for Harley Demo day and try the Freewheeler and Tri-Glide
We'd get along just fine. You mentioned a very important feature that I didn't think about. I figured how many pizzas I could stash on this thing. Now I'm thinking about beer and pizza. :)
Well, I appreciate your kind words. I wish I could afford a trike. I just took him for a ride on it when I reviewed it. If I could buy one and he'd ride, I'd do it. Thanks for watching and hope to see you on here again.
I love the trike! But I’m not so sure of the sound system. How you supposed to be listening to music with all the rumbling of the engine and all the traffic around you? Now if you’re parked then I can see it.
Agreed. I hopped on the freeway a bit sooner than I would recommend. Spend a few hours or better riding it before you even try it. Thanks for watching.
How is the ride for the passenger? With such a short wheelbase I can't imagine it's very comfortable especially since the passenger is almost on top of the rear axle. At the 2:16 mark, neither of you looks very comfortable.
My 15 year old Son, Gavin said it was very comfortable. I will say that you get more bounce hitting bumps than on two wheels but he really enjoyed it and said he could see us taking a trip on it. He's about 130-140 pounds and 5'9" if that helps. Thanks for watching.
When I let my husband be the driver on my Freewheeler and I ride passenger behind him, it is not comfortable for a passenger. He just bought a new TriGlide and it was very comfortable riding behind him as a passenger on the TriGlide. There is a big difference in price, but if you can afford the TriGlide, I think you will like it better than the Freewheeler.
I checked online and the latest post was just a few weeks ago so I'm thinking they're open. I couldn't get through on the phone but on facebook if you check out Julian Hog Heaven you'll see the post I'm talking about.
Stay in the middle of the lane &no swirving please, lol, turning feels like the whole weight of the bike is in the bars,,,especially on raining days,,GO SLOW jumping on exit ramps& in turns,♡I had triglide,,and went to lighter &more sporty,Freewheeler, which I enjoyed more than the triglide."years ago I had back & neck surgery,,""Trikes are harder for me to operate, no room to maneuver while cruising, brakes & clutch take a little more beating due to weight,AND THAT REVERSE MOTOR AINT CHEAP ,but the new ones are better .$$,,also you can have the reverse motor rebuilt by a performance shop for a fraction of the cost &it will be more durable than factory""".I like to have escape routes &room to maneuver so I went back to my ROADKING STANDARD ,,all is good♡♡♡
honestly once you get used to them they are a ton of fun.. take mine down the dragon's tail a good bit being its not to far to get there along with the rest of the mountain roads i like to ride. i mean the videos i've taken from the rides in the mountains show just how much fun they really are..But yeah one huge point though is they are great for long distance due to how stable they are on the highway.
The Dragon is on my bucket list. I have to ride it sometime. I agree that the trike is perfect for long distance. Thanks for watching and if you've got any video from your ride on the dragon, I'd love to see a piece of it.
@@MotorcycleMonkey here is the last ride i recorded while on the tail from last year right before heading out to Sturgis which I rode all the way there on the trike. hope you enjoy. th-cam.com/video/sx8RG8pUc6M/w-d-xo.html&t
@@MotorcycleMonkey thank you for the sub and glad you enjoyed the video. I'll be doing more rides very soon and will try to live stream them but given the areas I ride a lot in especially the mountains pretty much just get to shoot the video then post them afterwards due to a bunch of dead spots in cell coverage
I bought a 2016 Freewheeler in December of 2016, traded in a 2011 Roadking for the Freewheeler. On August 2, 2021, my husband traded in his 2011 Ultra Classic Limited for a 2021 TriGlide. I have to say that I like riding the TriGlide more than the Freewheeler, but I pitched a hissy fit with the dealership when we found out that Harley Davidson eliminated the heel shifter on that trike and they didn't provide a 2nd ignition key and fob with the TriGlide. After I complained the dealership agreed to provide a heel shifter for it, but they are on backorder with Harley Davidson. The TriGlide is more comfortable with a better seat than what comes on the Freewheeler. Before you decide test ride both models, I think you will prefer the comfort of a TriGlide over a Freewheeler.
I really enjoyed the Spyder when I reviewed it. I also really liked how low it sat due to my short legs. 29" inseam on a 5'10" body. I'm like dorf on golf...If you even know what I'm referring to. Thanks for watching.
Can anybody define FLRT? Can't find an expanded definition for the acronym if it's an acronym at all. Sounds like they just jammed four letters together because it sounds cool. Probably want people to think a bit, like the three shells in the bathroom in place of toilet paper in the movie "Demolition Man".
Lawsuits Blame Harley Davidson ‘Trikes' for Death, Injuries Three wheels should be more stable than two. But a three-wheeled Harley Davidson bike known as a “trike” is under fire from riders who say the vehicle’s complex braking system has caused unexpected - and sometimes deadly - swerves off of highways. “Trikes with experienced riders don’t simply run off the road into gullies when people are on their way to work or their morning commute,” said Paul Edelstein, an attorney who represents Harold Morris and Laura Share, two New York riders who suffered catastrophic trike accidents. Morris says he was thrown off of his Harley trike twice, once in February of 2019 while driving on a Florida highway and a second time in June of 2020 while cruising in Western Pennsylvania. In that second accident, Morris suffered multiple broken bones and internal injuries. His long-time girlfriend, Pamela SinClair, was killed. “All the sudden the bike was going off to the left,” Morris said. “At the hospital, they actually gave me last rites three times in the first four weeks.” Laura Share’s accident was eerily similar. As with Morris’s two crashes, the weather was fine, no other vehicles were involved, and there was no sign of excessive speed. She says she was preparing to exit a highway near Rochester, New York, when the trike suddenly veered off the road. She suffered a broken pelvis, a broken clavicle, broken ribs, and a broken sternum. “I was thrown off,” Share said. “It bothers me that they won’t take ownership of the problem. In Harley Davidson did not answer questions from the I-Team and in court filings the motorcycle manufacturer has denied all wrongdoing. But in 2019, the company voluntarily recalled more than 12,000 trikes from 2019 and 2020, citing a problem with the way the brakes can engage the rear wheels. According to a notice filed with the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), certain 2019-2020 FLHTCUTG, and FLRT Trike motorcycles were equipped with software that “may respond incorrectly to a faulty rear wheel speed signal by activating one of the rear brakes.” Since trikes have two rear wheels -instead of a single one - synchronized application of brakes is critical. As the recall notice said, “unintended activation of one rear brake could lead to an unexpected change in vehicle direction which may increase the risk of a crash.” A NHTSA rep declined to answer questions about whether more than 12,000 Harley trikes involved in the recall are safe to drive - or whether the recall remedy was sufficient to fix the problem. “For guidance, we do not comment on pending litigation,” wrote a NHTSA rep who did not provide a name in his or her email to the I-Team. After getting the recall notice, both Share and Morris had their trikes serviced by the same dealer, but they say the recall repair did not prevent their accidents. Stan’s Harley Davidson, the dealer that carried out the recall repairs, declined comment. Robert Bosch, LLC, the company that made components for the trike’s braking system, also declined comment siting a policy of not commenting on topics in litigation. Morris is concerned Harley Davidson now considers thousands of trike motorcycles safe - even though he says the recall intervention failed to keep his brakes from locking up. “They’ve got a problem and they aren’t willing to admit it to save people’s lives,” he said. Court records and accident reports from around the country show Morris and Share aren’t the only ones who’ve experienced problems with Harley inexplicably pulling off highways. Court records or police accident reports that detail similar accidents in Florida, North Carolina, West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Oregon. Earlier this summer, Morris was present as experts from Harley Davidson plugged his wrecked trike into a computer that reads mechanical fault codes in order to examine what - if any - problems it had experienced prior to the deadly crash. Video from that examination, showed a laptop screen with more than a dozen fault codes. Some of the fault codes involved issues with turn signals, acceleration, and the trike’s radio speaker. But there were also codes seemingly related to the anti-lock braking system. One of the codes read “traction control fault.” Another read “rear break configuration error.” Yet another read “Lost Comm w/ ABS.” It is not clear if those faults were recorded before or after Morris’s trike underwent repairs associated with the recall. Either way, Edelstein wants other owners of 2019 and 2020 Harley Davidson trikes to be aware of their safety issues. “There are 12 thousand bikes that we are aware of that this could happen to. I have 2 people that I know it did happen to.”
At 74, my strength isn’t what it once was, so after 8 years, I sold my ‘15 Breakout. My wife asked me if I was going to get a trike and I said no. As much as I like to ride, I couldn’t see spending $40k on a bike for a few more years and selling it for $4,000. Plus we don’t have the room in our carport. I’ve been riding since ‘70 and although I miss it and even have dreams about it, I’m done with bikes.

What did you pick? Thanks for watching.
Being 6 foot tall I find the writing position a little cramped trying to figure out what I need to do to give myself more legroom
No counter steering ??? Is going to be weird. 🤔
THAT WAS THE LAST TIME THE REVERSE WORKED !
I love the trike! But I’m not so sure of the sound system. How you supposed to be listening to music with all the rumbling of the engine and all the traffic around you? Now if you’re parked then I can see it.
Awsume video. Super clear sound. What camera do you use?
It's a Sony 4K Handycam FDR AX-33. Thanks for watching and let me know if you get one. They should be anywhere from 700-800 bucks last I checked.
i can bring groceries home on my tri-glide lol.
I would imagine it would be easier to get a rear tire for this rig.
I think I would take it easy first before I would get on a major highway
Agreed. I hopped on the freeway a bit sooner than I would recommend. Spend a few hours or better riding it before you even try it. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the info😁🇺🇸
Thank you!!!
I ride both
Be careful with the 2019-2020 model. HD has issued a recall due to a rear brake issue. Seems like one brake will activate throwing people off!!!!!
Thanks for the information. I'll check into this.
Did he ask, "where in the hell is that button?"
It is the worst Ride ever and bad ,mileage
Is Hog Heaven (apparel & leather store) still in Julian?
I checked online and the latest post was just a few weeks ago so I'm thinking they're open. I couldn't get through on the phone but on facebook if you check out Julian Hog Heaven you'll see the post I'm talking about.
Gorgeous Bike....little over priced
Stay in the middle of the lane &no swirving please, lol, turning feels like the whole weight of the bike is in the bars,,,especially on raining days,,GO SLOW jumping on exit ramps& in turns,♡I had triglide,,and went to lighter &more sporty,Freewheeler, which I enjoyed more than the triglide."years ago I had back & neck surgery,,""Trikes are harder for me to operate, no room to maneuver while cruising, brakes & clutch take a little more beating due to weight,AND THAT REVERSE MOTOR AINT CHEAP ,but the new ones are better .$$,,also you can have the reverse motor rebuilt by a performance shop for a fraction of the cost &it will be more durable than factory""".I like to have escape routes &room to maneuver so I went back to my ROADKING STANDARD ,,all is good♡♡♡
Nice
honestly once you get used to them they are a ton of fun.. take mine down the dragon's tail a good bit being its not to far to get there along with the rest of the mountain roads i like to ride. i mean the videos i've taken from the rides in the mountains show just how much fun they really are..But yeah one huge point though is they are great for long distance due to how stable they are on the highway.
@@Ridingon3TN That road looks awesome!!! I can tell by the video that I'd be the slowest rider around. Thanks for sending!!! I subscribed.
Sounds like mitch McConnell on camera
I think one needs to be physically tough 💪 enough to handle this tough trike!! 🤔Well, u need enough practice too!
You should check out reverse on a Spyder...it's an actual gear. For almost 50K for the HD Trike the Spyder has for half the price....hmmm?
I really enjoyed the Spyder when I reviewed it. I also really liked how low it sat due to my short legs. 29" inseam on a 5'10" body. I'm like dorf on golf...If you even know what I'm referring to. Thanks for watching.
Problem is its kinda ugly
Can anybody define FLRT? Can't find an expanded definition for the acronym if it's an acronym at all. Sounds like they just jammed four letters together because it sounds cool. Probably want people to think a bit, like the three shells in the bathroom in place of toilet paper in the movie "Demolition Man".
If you were Canadian you might just switch your mindset over to "Snowmobile" and you'd be fine :)
Yea that's my next ride as soon as i can afford one in NEW BRUNSWICK CANADA 🇨🇦 #Harley_Davidson✌but not that model. The #FreeWheeler
Trike Life👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Omg the price is just as much as a car. You would think it would be half the price.
why? Its like 1 1/2 bikes together
Lawsuits Blame Harley Davidson ‘Trikes' for Death, Injuries
Three wheels should be more stable than two.
“At the hospital, they actually gave me last rites three times in the first four weeks.”
Laura Share’s accident was eerily similar.
In
Harley Davidson did not answer questions from the I-Team and in court filings the motorcycle manufacturer has denied all wrongdoing.
But in 2019, the company voluntarily recalled more than 12,000 trikes from 2019 and 2020, citing a problem with the way the brakes can engage the rear wheels.
According to a notice filed with the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), certain 2019-2020 FLHTCUTG, and FLRT Trike motorcycles were equipped with software that “may respond incorrectly to a faulty rear wheel speed signal by activating one of the rear brakes.”
Since trikes have two rear wheels -instead of a single one - synchronized application of brakes is critical. As the recall notice said, “unintended activation of one rear brake could lead to an unexpected change in vehicle direction which may increase the risk of a crash.”
A NHTSA rep declined to answer questions about whether more than 12,000 Harley trikes involved in the recall are safe to drive - or whether the recall remedy was sufficient to fix the problem.
I have 2 people that I know it did happen to.”
wish the wheels were better quality and easier to clean
Didn't pay much attention to them. I'll check them out the next time I'm at Biggs Harley.
👍
I like how it engages reverse with all the elegance and grace of a bull in a China shop. POS.
Pl.share price
Kid gets on a motorcycle and now a trike bad ass! But wears a mask outside.
Harley Trikes have a rear brake lock up issue...DEATH TRAP
I'll ask about this. Thanks for the heads up.
यह बाइक कितने रुपए की है
Great vid. Fun and informative. Now 6 months in on my own tri glide ultra. Every second has been a joy! Yes.. it took a few weeks to get used to riding and negotiating mini roundabouts and sharp bends. I'm flying round them now! Just had the 1k service and not one fault or issue. My dream machine! You ride a motorcycle, you drive a trike
Goodbye lane spliting haha!
Your arms and shoulders will get a workout if you ride the twists and turns.
100% agree.
Way overpriced, they want you to buy it for $35,000 and if you want to sell it back to them theyl give you $8000 because its “slow”
I’m 70 I want one
I hope you get one, Jimmy. Let me know if you do. It will put a smile on my face for you. :)
@@MotorcycleMonkey Great video! And you're right about the handling discrepancies. / I couldn't afford anything newer, so last week I picked up a 2001 Ultra with a Lehman kit, Baker 6 speed w/ reverse and Champion independent suspension. / I'm 67, and after nearly 60 years of 2 wheel motorized mania, a trike does present a challenge. I only left my lane and ended up in the weeds twice today. Lesson learned, leaning sucks! Regards!
Tell the kid to grow a pair.
Ha! I'll tell him you said that. Maybe it'll work. Thanks for watching. Ride safely.
Beautiful bike, check out my photoshoot with Harley Davidson. I Rode it like it should be ridden ;)
You don’t counter steer
In the UK trikes are only really ridden by those with disabilities which is a real shame.
I'd own one if I could afford a few different bikes. The really are great machines. Thanks for watching.
If you want a three wheeler get a can am spyder way better than this ignorant design , the spyder will run off and leave a Harley in the mountains. Cost a lot less too.
and their hideous
You're not going to outrun any cops on that thing... SMH
why would you be running from cops bro? what a ridiculous comment..the rest of us are not running from the law

at 14 why is your son not riding his own 2 wheeler? ... at least learning??
He recently told me that he has no interest in riding. I'm ok with that. If he ever wants to ride I'll gladly set him up with a safety course but for now...he's just not into it. Thanks for watching. Ride safely.
