In this episode I'm exploring in the United Kingdom with Andy and Jacques.
Our mission is to explore the Humber forts which got built at the start of WWI and got upgraded and used in WWII to protect against German attacks.

Kudos to the 3 of you for all the effort on this one
Thanks for checking out!
Dangerously undercapable boat for those waters. You guys are bonkers😂 thanks for the video!
Awesome episode, Bob. Glad you’re continuing to explore and make videos for us to enjoy with you.
stop stop!! back, come back!! We were waiting for the second fort so much, it was so interesting. Come back. Please.
One day my friend👌😊
My uncle and I had a chance of drowning in a flooded WW 1 explosives bunker and later my Dad and I were seconds away from being run over by an oil tanker at night. Unexpected events are a trial for any adventure. Thanks for sharing all your troubles, and don't give up.
My grandad was stationed on one of these forts in ww2 he was an AA gunner the one he was on had 30 other guys stationed and once a week had supply's shipped out . His friend died while there he got ill and the weather was bad so it took 3 days to get a boat out to them . He transfered to Stranraer in Scotland and became a radio mechanic fixing radio systems on the flying boats used to hunt submarines in the Atlantic
the room with the glass window inside would be for explosives storage. it wouldn't have any lights or metal objects inside in case of accidental ignition. there would be a passage on the other side of the wall to allow you to place a lantern inside the window to illuminate the room safely.
Ahhhh !!! Thanks for the explanation that makes sense. Good to know for the future😄
That would be the case if you were talking about a Victorian era fort, these were built in the First World War and are wired for electric power and lighting.
they did this in ww1 as well an electrical fire would be horrible
@@northerndaddyoyes but when you turn the lights on it makes a spark and when you have a room with explosives it can explode when it sparks
@@Little_iracky that’s why the clever old sausages put the switch outside the room,no WW2 gun batteries/forts were using an oil lamp to light the magazines since the invention of the electric light bulb 🤭
I loved looking at these when I was growing up... I grew up less than 5 miles from the Humber Bridge on the south side.
Ooo nice place to live!😁 nice scenery
if this was turned into a house it would be so cool.
It would🤩! They are currently selling some other forts
Wow this was an amazing episode i'd love to see more of this stuff in the UK! as always i love seeing your channel!
Will be back one day :)
Did you see the other fort we went to? That one looked the opposite from these forts.
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath Of course that was a great video
Love the video. Thanls for showing everything even if the second fort didn't work out the way you wanted it too. It's important to keep everything in context.
Very cool, glad you made it out ok. It's good to see the other part of the explore life. Always enjoy your explores.
Thanks 😊 When you explore (especially places which haven’t been explored before) you often fail to get inside. Sometimes I come back from a trip without any successes🥲
Except for the kakka it's really beautiful love the old architecture
Really great footage..love old artifacts. Especially WW1 and WWII
Some other explorers made videos about this places and struggled with the sea, dont underestimate it :)
In the end you see us struggle as well😂
Thank!
Good teamwork
Thanks a lot mate! It’s not a mission to do alone😄
Brilliant being local . Always wanted to visit, Not many people make it to the furthest fort or even try too, Due to the dangerous sea. Humber river meets the sea . You was lucky the mud didn’t get you aswell 😂, jokes aside its a dangerous place sea and mud .Very good coverage 👍👍👍
It was ! One day I try it again and arrange a shipper (Or the weather has to be perfect) Thanks for checking out :)
👍
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath Come explore in India as well
Thanks for sharing Bob! Hope you are well💜
Thanks Brenda! After sitting home and only work in the past months I finally go on a trip again next week! :)
Was not expecting to see my home town in a video, great video as always
Another great andventure. I'm very glad I could witness it from my lazy chair in my dry, warm, living room :D
I have a clue on the window inside the room. I think that was a powder magazine and the lighting was placed there only accessible from the outside. This is to minimize all possible explosion hazards. I have seen similar elsewhere on old coastal defenses
Id for sure rebuild these you never k iw when u may need these forts honestly
Merci pour la visite!!
that generator room was way cool!!
Awesome explore bob.
Excellent video, thanks
Always drum n bass on the British episodes! Nice!
That will be Andy & Jacques influence, we're all drum and bass heads! 😂
Awesome bro, those guys even had an engine. I would have been paddling there on a floaty.
Sucks to paddle! Not an option at sea. I've also got a boat with an engine :)
@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath with all the money I've made from youtube I think I can buy one arm floaty
Haha I can buy the cheapest dinghy at least from a regular episode :D, you can buy a cheap rope instead of the arm floaty and we're set!
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath hell yeh bro, few more vids and maybe a paddle too
Its funny tho, last time i was watching those forts from the beach i was thinking if you ever end up visiting them haha
Great video as always!!
Murphy's Law in action. Better luck next time!
Go on Fort Boyard please ! Nice video.
That one is pretty modern/updated but I could go one day.. did you check the other fort we’ve been? It’s the same looking but more abandoned looking and with cannons!
Good job Bob!👊
Arhh great video Bob 👍 I loved this , thanks for sharing brilliant explore and video 👍❤
Thanks again ! Atm I’m working on some really amazing episodes I’ll publish later this year 😄
I'm late,but i'm here Bob!
Ooo there’s another one waiting for you Kristian 🤩
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath i will watch,definitivelly
😍
Cool to see you link up with Andy & Jacques again and a cool adventure, if a little sketchy!
I liked the green & cream cupboards and the guages & switchgear in the boiler room in the fort. The baby pidgeys and fox 🦊 were cute too.
You'll have to come over for one of our big parties we all have in old mines, quarries, factories & forts at some point! 😊
Yeah would be nice!! 😄Exploring with Andy and Jacques is always fun. Miss them!
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath Yes they are good lads! I've partied with them more than explored! They all met up with Laura & Niko the other day as they were exploring round the UK. We were all helping them with their trip! A few of us heading on tour to Belgium this weekend! (Ben, Gina, Mike, Sarah & I) 😁
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath Also, you're always welcome over to one of the urban socials parties mate, I'll give you a shout on Facebook when the next one is announced! 🤘
@@5pr1nk57 Belgium?? What are you up to there?
Nice fort but the second one seems like the second one the same. I think it is standard construct like the most military objects.
Safe journeys .
Thanks Gary! Saw y recently adventures to an abandoned aircraft carrier and underground military train workshop?🤩✌️
Id honestly have forts every 500 yards
Forts on land? Where do you live?😁
Your videos give the viewer the best feeling and mood, it was interesting, I don't know much and exactly if there are other places like Fukushima or Chernobyl Pripyat that have a deep sense of abandonment and solitude, and how much I am a fan of it, thank you🤟😎
Thanks for checking out! We made quite some episodes in Fukushima. Chernobyl I’ve been too, but before filming complete episodes.😔
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath thousand thanks 🤟😎
They look similar to fort boyard, they used to host a show on it back in the day.
Not at all like Boyard. That is 19th century built of stone and is massive. I have passed around it several times on my boat, It is still in use by French TV crews.
Come to royal city washinton usa there is an abandon titan 1 missle silo
O nice! I explored another one for my channel in Colorado.
you found yourself some big wall nuts there 🤣... and it seems a whole lot of city chickens have moved in n well and truly fertilized the place.
Wow ... That was really intense you guys literally could have died if you weren't all strong enough. As rough as it was where it as a badge of honor you guys are did great made a great video and now have memories you'll never forget.
Awsome video. Thanks for treading through all that pigeon crap. 😂😂
Noticed the edm in the vid what djs you like?
This place could be so amazing if it wasn’t left to rot or if someone have 3.5 million dollars to restore it. Talk about unique ocean front house !!
Yeah! They got sold for 50.000£ in the past and nowadays around 500.000£ I believe?
HI am from grimsby my Brother went there 2 mounts a go look good
A very nice explore and a interesting pile of rust and bird poo lol but still interesting too see, too get on the other one you need too swim too it and call a boat iff you are done that place destroys inflatable hehe
Nice and good luck
Thanks a lot 🙏 😄
5:15 😳
You need to go to the Thames river and find some skulls
Oooo what’s the story behind it?
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath they call it the river of Lost souls . it's filled with the unfortunate from long ago. People who lived in extreme poverty people who committed suicide dumping grounds there are tons of skeletons there
I always hope 'nothing goes as planned', Bob. Sorry 😉 Nice upload, greets Richard.
Haha! Yeah you are lucky because it never works out according to plan. Currently working on some really really epic episodes😁😎
Which didn’t go as planned either😂
Shame they are so deteriorated. Would make an amazing home. With 12 inch armor plate, about the only thing you'd ever have to worry about is a tsunami hitting it. Not many of those around England, lol. Any other storm wouldn't bother that thing in the slightest. Though I can only imagine what it must sound like in there when the storms do hit. But yeah, make one heck of a mansion. It would suck having to ship food and fuel in on a regular basis. But hey, at least no one would bother you, hahahaha...
Yeah would make an epic mansion! Some of such forts got turned into a hotel, but they got bankrupt I believe.. A shame
Parsun the worst outboard engine in the world!😂
Någon skulle starta en förening som tog hand om det som i Sverige
like - 264 very nice 👍👌👏❤️🌹🙏
Thanks my friend
Safely out of China! Relieved!
Thanks mate! :)
Pode até ficar doente por causa dessas fezes de pombos.
Yup! Luckily there was a bit of draft air going through the fort.
How do you find these places an gain access to them and how do you fund yourself?
Places: endless nights browsing lists and pictures on the internet
Acces: We have to be lucky if there’s an entrance.
Funding: Working 18h per day when I am home😂
In your Patreon ad 2 years ago you showed room full of computers that are ON. I signed up to your Patreon and didn't see a video that showed that. Can you please let me know the name of the video that showed that
I messaged you😌
Could you fly your drone up to check out the other drone ?
I didn’t notice I filmed the drone from the air😂 I found out at home.
someone may have seen the light or smoke from the fire and called the coastguard thinking it was an sos, rather than sending out a boat they sent the drone to investigate instead, obviously this is cheaper. 🤔🤔
Track id starting 6:40 ?
Go next time on a better day
Fun, but you seem weirdly underprepared! Crappy boat, no knowledge of the specific area you're navigating, no tide times etc... there's a fine line between taking calculated risks and having a death wish!
We do look into the area and tide times, but there's a lot of things you just can't prepare.. and we're just urban explorers, no rich guys with a BIG budget to buy a decent boat for just 2 forts.
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath yeah I hear you - I love your videos, just keen that you're able to keep making them!
👀👍
Baby cow food on a abondoned fort? id get a sample lol might be old fertilizer ready to be go Boom just incase we get invaded, just thinking....
Oh hahaha good one😄😂
Iam like 238
Woohoo 😻👌

Slightly incorrect russian subtitles. English + auto-translate is better for me
I just put auto translation on Russian subtitles. I speak some languages but no Russian, you should not choose the auto-English, but English subtitles should be fine! 😄
Hello im from philippines new subscriber pls shout out me😊😅
its so funny u think this is from any woeld war lol, a sea fort, thats funny. baaah haaaa baaa haaa
I have spent MANY weekends on the Bull Sand Fort when it belonged to the charity was part of, in fact some of my gear is still there! It was sold recently for £495,000 so is still private property. Haille Sand Fort was a private residence until about 2010, then the occupants left and it was put up for sale. I don't think it sold. You must NEVER try to walk to Haille fort from Cleethorpes, several people have died trying, getting stuck and drowning in the many quicksand holes between the beach and the fort.
Are those your chainfalls? I’m considering flying from the US to steal them but I can’t figure out how to fit them in my carry on!😂
There will always be another time to see the other fort. What we did get to see was still awesome. Thanks for sharing
Thanks as always Matt! Yeah one day we will visit some other ones. Really depends on the weather too.😁
Came for spider monkey, stayed for the epic mission
Andy and Jacques FTW 🙌🏽
Yes Alistair! 🤘
And again I can't understand, why you explore all these places without any safty protection on your hands and on your faces. Especially here, with all that pigeon excrements. Have you never heard of Ornithose???
Boss Love your video 🌸🖤🇧🇩😍
Im from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
looks like they had some drugs making going on with all the barels etc
Yes! MORE Drum and Bass in your videos please! Love the tracks youve been using.
Half of that rust at least could have been prevented by opening and closing the windows at the appropriate times.
Ja deixado meu like 👍🏻 ótimo vídeo

Yes indeed😂 The other fort was wood and bricks.. this was a mean looking rusty & grimy one.
Thank you
Toffe aflevering weer en mooi om te zien dat je alles weer last zien. Die drone was toch wel heel vreemd!
And that was the humber lifeboat.from spern point.again. FROM HULLLAD.😮
1:23 shampoo!😅😂
What an awesome explore and only a two hour drive from where I live in the Uk. Thanks for getting covered in pigeon poop so I don’t have to. 😂 ❤️.
This is great. Never make me disappointed. Always love to watch this channel. Be careful guy
spanish !!!!
I wonder where the drone came from.
Geen idee. Maar we hadden verwacht dat de politie ons zou opwachten😅
seems like an excellent adventure. wish i had people to do this stuff with!
Thank you for putting in such an effort in this video for us.
