In this episode I'm exploring in China with Edwin, Robin and Andy.
We explore a massive abandoned power plant, which got built in 1958, decommissioned in 2012 and totally abandoned in 2014. Although it's abandoned for a decade, everything is still like it got left abandoned. No theft or vandalism.

Your channel is my favorite UE channel. No weird atmospheric music, no weird sound effects, no existential musings about consumerism and progress. Just top notch abandoned locations with great footage and cool companions. I'm not bashing the other UE channels, I do subscribe and watch Proper people and Broken window theory but their content doesn't entertain and inform me like yours does.
I am requesting another trip with Ester and Elina(sp?).

Thanks a lot Frank! I invest a lot of time in research (new places nobody has been) But I wish I had a fixed crew and had more time on locations.. maybe one day! I should go on a trip with Elaina soon😇

Each to his own of course. I get quickly annoyed from excessive meaningless chatting, not only on youtube channels but in real life as well. The best channels for me are those that leave the talk to the bare minimum and just record the sounds so best catch the atmosphere of the place. I watch this channel for the amazing locations but to be honest I generally mute the sound and have some atmospheric music playing in stead.

You are really misled by the reports of the Western media. In fact, our life is not so bad. The social credit system and facial recognition have really been exaggerated. I admit we have these things in China, but the social credit system is only used for financial purposes in China. When you don't have credit, it only restricts your means of transportation and does not allow you to borrow money. The police will not arrest you. Moreover, facial recognition is mostly used in electronic payments and the arrest of criminals. By the way, there are also many ruins explorers in China, and I can't believe you really believe those reports.

Maar ben minimaal toch enkele lange dagen ermee bezig! Zeker met videos die niet chronologisch gefilmd zijn en als er met veel verschillende camera’s gefilmd is. Some people have a question. Why they don't renovate the steam house and power plant? The main reason is cost of renovation and rebuilding. It is easier and cheaper build a new one cause the new generation of machinery bigger and more efficient, an old facilities not fitted for this new equipment. It is impossible to replace steam boilers and turbines without rebuilding the machine halls and supply buildings.

    • @ExploringtheUnbeatenPath

Fantastic caption typo at the 9-minute mark. I would pay money to see what happens to a steam turbine when the inlet feed reaches 5835 C.

Yeah these things slip in when you have to fight against the algorithm of TH-cam… post post post post… 😣

Such a great find! I love the variety of control rooms spread out. I laughed so hard when you pulled the magnetic door and it fell off 14:40 😂😂

Trespass to this kind of public utility facility can be a crime in China. Interesting video, but unlawfully taken.

What a nice abandoned power station. However: You should consider censoring faces to prevent people from getting problems. Like the Chinese person below said according to google translate: "At least 2 Chinese friends are in trouble."

Well, according to the local explorers it's not a problem as long you don't visit/document any semi-active military places. Bili Bili is by example a Chinese TH-cam and people post their adventures to abandoned places too.

The titel in Dutch says 'slopen' instead of 'lopen'. Not sure if it's the same for other languages. Exited to watch the video :)

Dank je wel, had haast en heb niet naar de ondertiteling gekeken. Sluipen is een betere keuze hier ja.. slopen is een erg ongelukkige vertaling, thanks 😇
