The Pro-Ject X8 has a total weight of about 15 Kg. The platter (5.1 kg) is machined out from a solid block of aluminum. The platter rests on an inverted bearing with a ceramic tip that adopts a magnetic system to reduce the load. The huge base is made of MDF, while the standard arm is the Pro-Ject 9cc EVO made of carbon fiber. The cartridge is the Moving Coil Ortofon Quintet Blue. Everything rests on dampened aluminum feet in TPE (Thermo Plastic Elastomer) that make it possible to adjust the height and effectively decouple the X8 from the surface on which it is positioned. The standard cable is the Connect it Phono E 5P to RCA semi-balanced.

$2,500 U.S is a bit out of my price range.. If the X8 were priced a bit closer with the X2? I'd be very interested in purchasing an X8, no questions asked!

Yeah, but how did you balance the tone arm. You did not show that part.

This is a procedure well presented in the manual.

Thanks. I was interested in the counterweight you received in the box as mine is not capable of balancing with my chosen cartridge. @@hxosplus

Not in the US - no moving coil, just a Moonstone, the same cartridge sold on the Pro-Jett X2 which is $6-800 dollars less. 🤨 We should get a better cartridge for the money and the turntable quality. 😡

The Moonstone is an excellent cartridge

I have an X1 and those feet I have to tell the truth are a half disappointment, they do not absorb at all all the vibrations they say to the point of having to resort to a granite marble slab and then that felt underneath ends up getting worse .....

Nothing beat the technics 1200 series build precision. Forget these rubber belts.

A LOT beats that bud. Maybe for the money you're partially right, but the technics isn't an end game table. Not even close.

Not setting the counterweight. Not a great video to be honest.
