Loved this. Great fun and a great idea. We all need to drink whisky the way the Grail girls do, for serious fun. Poor AnCnoc though - a favourite of mine… 😢 Still, loved to see you enjoying all of the others 🎉 I hope santa was kind this year 😉- all the best!
One of the best whisky vids of 2022! Look forward to more in 2023... and if there was a Top 10 for whisky quotes 2022 then most of them would have to come from The Grail!! Hilarious!! 😂
I totally agree! I’ve been watching this channel since they introduced one of the winners on the OSWAs. Hilarious and informative. Female version of the Scotch Test Dummies.
I'd love to see a "side by side comparison" bit as a recurring theme on your show. I'm a bit selfish because I'd love to see your take on Glendronach 18 vs Tamdhu 12
Big fan of Compass Box. Even their budget-minded Artist and Glasgow blends are quite nice. Their Peat Monster started me down the Islay rabbit hole. Orchard House and Oak Cross are also in my cabinet regularly.
Right. I have some Ancnoc 18 in my cupboard so I went and poured myself some after your lukewarm comments. It definitely has a nose! It's an easy drinking whisky. Summer fruit plays big. It's not empty, but I wouldn't drink it after some face-hammers. Victoriana is top drawer, by the way. Agree with you on that.
Great way to wave goodbye to 2022, also a great excuse to shamelessly sip all these whiskies in front of a camera 😉. Work work work work and what not 😃🥃. Fun and entertaining but also touching on some very good points! Slainte to you both!
Fun watch as always, you two! It showcased how whiskies can really change depending on the context. At first Rachel liked Ardnamurchan but after having Redbreast 15 the Ardna went funky. I always find that fascinating and have started making notes about whiskies that do and don't work with other whiskies. Happy New Years to you both!
I’ve just found your channel, obviously due to your come back. Welcome back btw. The Jameson tour gives you standard, Crested and the Black Barrel. And thanks for identifying the salt in Bunnahabhain. It was such a strong taste to me when I first sipped it, but no one else agreed! 😂 I have no idea how you were making any sense at the end! Very funny. Great video
Orchard House includes whiskies from Linkwood and Clynelish if I remember from the label on the last bottle I had. I enjoyed it but certainly more of a Spring dram. It's also crept up a wee bit in price here in Colorado. We all should have been quiet about it. They're starting to catch on 😅
I wish the thickness of my wallet matched the number of good options out there. You've already turned us onto Bunna, Springbank, and others we might not have considered, though. Love the review
What fun to watch this! Got the Ardnamurchin 02:22 CS in May when I was in Inverness. Just recently acquired the 09:22 and now I want to open it to compare. After trying all those other Whisky's not surprised that you didn't get much from/didn't like the AnCnoc 18. It's subtle and delicate and a clean palate is needed to get what's in there. Looks like you had a great time doing this. Cheers lady's
Now you mention the coconut rice in the Glen Scotia Victoriana, I can totally see it. However, maybe the coconut note is also the part I don't like it (now I understand why). The AnCnoc 18 is a poor boy in the lineup after all those fantastic drams. Great video. Happy New Year.
Very interesting and entertaining! To me the anCnoc 18 has a certain Edradour character in smell and taste and since I love Edradour, anCnoc 18 winns over almost every other OSWA participant (except Ledaig 10 and 18 and Kilkerrans) Thanks for all your interesting and funny videos. Happy new year to you both! Anders, Stockholm
Great fun girls, how many empty bottles of Buckfast are behind the sofa ? 63 tomorrow so will be on the lash, have a good one and best of luck for the new year 🙂
Why does Glazers, a Texas company, choose to not distribute many of the best scotches they have available to Texas stores? For example, most bottles of Arran and Bunnahabhain. Is this the same Glazers Manchester United so dearly loves?
I wondered if the bitterness in the nikka is the caramel colouring in the after taste, but obv I dont get that in springbank. Was really disappointed in it when I tried it The orchard house has this lovely big pie chart which tells you everything thats in the batches which is super interesting and honestly it should just be a standard Lots of clynelish and linkwood in it! Apple yums 😋
Glad you did this video! I already have a Victoriana in the cupboard. I had shortlisted an Ardnamurchan after the OSWAs, and have now ordered the 09.22 cask strength thanks to your review. Thanks! Happy New Year to both of you and look forward to another year of laughs and top notch whisky content. Sláinte!
Ardnamurchan will forever be associated with the words "smells like s#### " from the intro and I remember that video. Was it my imagination or was Rachel's face turning more pink red as the video progressed
Weighing in on the saga of An Cnoc 18…. I suggest making first dram of the day and letting it open up a full hour in the glass. Quite lovely; even at the neck pour. Hope that helps! Slainte
Thoroughly impressed with this one!. The tasting notes were spot on and really added to any whisky geek. Wishing you all the best in the new year. Keep up the excellent work!
i think your tastes are very similar to mine , i am drinking craigallachie 8 indie bottling , had bought dufftown 14 from same bottler which tasted thin and sherberty , 1 month later = now i like it , just agreeing with you that you NEVER judge whisky on the first try ;;;;
Haven't tried yet the Victoriana, but the way you describe it, seems a lot like Hazelburn 10...tropical fruits, coconut and just a hint of peat. Love it! Happy new year and cheers!
Under the new rules from the Japan Spirits & Liqueurs Makers Association from February 2021, Nikka From the Barrel can't be labeled as a Japanese whisky anymore as some of the whisky in it isn't from Japan. Nikka owns the Ben Nevis distillery, so perhaps that Ben Nevis you're tasting is actual Ben Nevis in the blend. :)
We sourced them from a number of different places, some we had in our own stocks already and the other we got from Master of Malt, Whisky Exchange, and Whiskay I think.
I haven't checked through all your past videos yet so maybe it's something you've already covered, but: something I'd be very interested to watch is if you could perhaps arrange a visit to GlenAllachie? I don't want to presume/impose upon either you or Billy Walker, but I think it would be interesting to hear from him about a few of his whiskies (or anything else he might wish to discuss), as well as you trying a few in side-by-side comparison--I don't mean Billy has to still be present for that bit. Or maybe Billy's too busy and you'd instead get to hear from one of his colleagues--which could be just as interesting. Failing that: maybe just a comparison of 2-3 GlenAllachie? Or, if that's too boring/samey: maybe, say, a GlenAllachie, a GlenDronach, and a Benriach? Or, if that's too boring/samey...😉
We would absolutely LOVE to go to GlenAllachie for some filming! Part of our problem is the time to get there but we are really hoping to get to Speyside sometime this year. We've got a few Glenallachie videos you can check out I'll post below.... you can see our filming quality has improved some 😅
"Jobbies"...new word. I'm using that in the US and see what kind of looks I get. "Oh yeah, can't have Mexican tonight...no, gives me the Jobbies" 🤣
Just don’t tell people that you’re a jobby jabber 😅
🤣😂🤣 Have fun with that!!!
Nika from the barrel is one of my favs
Loved this. Great fun and a great idea. We all need to drink whisky the way the Grail girls do, for serious fun. Poor AnCnoc though - a favourite of mine… 😢 Still, loved to see you enjoying all of the others 🎉
I hope santa was kind this year 😉- all the best!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed! Sorry about the AnCnoc! Just not our cup of tea at the moment! That might change! We had great fun trying them all!

Aw thanks!!!!😀
You two have me laughing the whole time. Great Stuff.
As always, excellent presentation. You work off each other so well.
Thank you! Cheers!
I'd love to see a "side by side comparison" bit as a recurring theme on your show. I'm a bit selfish because I'd love to see your take on Glendronach 18 vs Tamdhu 12
We've got more comparisons coming up soon hopefully! Hadn't thought to out these two together though!
Nice one girls that's a few on the bucket list. All the best for 2023.
Same to you!
Big fan of Compass Box. Even their budget-minded Artist and Glasgow blends are quite nice. Their Peat Monster started me down the Islay rabbit hole. Orchard House and Oak Cross are also in my cabinet regularly.

Yeah we probably should have had that first but I'm not sure it would have changed our overall opinion on it.
Impossible to not like you two! Great content.
Much appreciated! Glad you enjoy it!
Great watch!
Thanks!
I loved this video, thanks for your entertaining insight as always y’all
Drinking Colheita port tonight while enjoying the whiskey banter. Not too surprised by your progression of favorites. Happy New Year!
Great way to wave goodbye to 2022, also a great excuse to shamelessly sip all these whiskies in front of a camera 😉. Work work work work and what not 😃🥃. Fun and entertaining but also touching on some very good points! Slainte to you both!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
Super episode! It’s like quickie reviews of a bunch of all star bottles 😜
Exactly!
Great fun to watch but that Billy Bear comment was a bit disturbing🤣
😂 I think if you remember billy bear you remember wearing it as a mask!
Wonderful video. I commend you both! As an American I can actually understand you now that I have watched several of your videos.
Haha you'll be fluent in no time!
Great video!
And with those amazing accents I can just keep listening.
Thanks! 😃

Thanks so much for tuning in 😊🥃!! Definitely a wee hint of salt in Bunnahabhain and no idea either honestly 🤣!
Lovely summary of the winners.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was truly great, really enjoyed this. Several of the whiskies joined my watchlist and I'll definitely go for your two winners.
Thank you so much! Hope you find some new favourites!
Cheers Ladies just wishing you sweet hearts a great hogmannay & a prosperous new season :}
Same to you!

Ah! Good to know!

Thanks! Don't we all! 😂

Thanks for sharing! We wouldn't have thought of the Edradour as a comparison at all! Its nice to hear other perspectives!
Great fun girls, how many empty bottles of Buckfast are behind the sofa ?
63 tomorrow so will be on the lash, have a good one and best of luck for the new year 🙂
Happy Birthday Gareth!!! Hope you had a good one!

That makes sense with the Orchard House!
When Rachel likes a whiskey: "Ooooh, that's delicious!"
When Jen likes a whiskey: Puppet dance at 11:02
Sacrilege, it's Whisky, not whiskey.
Depends what we are tasting Gary. In this particular tasty puppet dance occasion its actually whiskey - Red Breast Irish Whiskey!
The tasty dance applies to all tasty things, pizza, chocolate cake....its not just reserved for drams!
Honest and real. Brilliant, keep it up!
Thanks so much!
ah, I love Ben Nevis but I have only had an independent bottling. I love the earthy planty finish!
You're so right with that note! This is the first time we really noticed it properly!
Glad you did this video!

😂 Oh no! Hope we've not ruined it for you!
Fuggin’ nutters, Happy New Year! “Not much ham ham”! 😂😂😂👍🥃🥃♥️ xx
Thanks! Same to you!
Loved the review....and I have both bottles of Ardnamurchan and the Victorianna I havent opened yet....so looking forward to them now!
You're in for a treat when you do!
Weighing in on the saga of An Cnoc 18…. I suggest making first dram of the day and letting it open up a full hour in the glass. Quite lovely; even at the neck pour. Hope that helps! Slainte
Thanks, we will do this if we are trying it again!

That’s a good comparison. I have both in my stash and yes, they are similar
Never thought of this comparison before actually!
The GlenAllachie 2008 Signatory, which barrels?
Change the line up and try again. Bet ya you'll pick different ones as favorites. Really love these reviews. Very curious and entertaining.
Thanks!

Yes! That's what we were talking about here. We think so.
Love this and now have a lot of new whiskies to add to my list. Where do you get your samples from?
We sourced them from a number of different places, some we had in our own stocks already and the other we got from Master of Malt, Whisky Exchange, and Whiskay I think.
What takeaway did you order after this 😁
Had a few of these at the Glasgow Whisky festival this year but definitely need to revisit.
Oh we needed a take away after this lol! But I think we just had tea and oat cakes!
Which version or batch of Victoriana were you you tasting? Thanks
Oh I'm not sure, it was the last of a bottle we opened in the summer and we have recycled it not so cant check! Sorry!
