    Why are you two so entertaining to watch having a dram and chatting?? 😂

    Totally agree about the cookie monster...

    Although I have never had an independent bottling of Glen Garioch, I have had many official bottles, and have enjoyed all of them immensely. I prefer them to Springbank. I guess it takes all kinds, and every one of us is different...

    When I toured the distillery a few years back, it was the more heavily sherry-influenced ones I preferred, so I can see why the Port one would do well...

    Two of my whisky friends also share the Springbank/Ben Nevis/Glen Garioch connection so that really seems quite common. I only had the founders reserve, 12 and 15 so far and liked them quite a bit, especially the 15.
    Also, "Sir, your whisky is bothering my face" seems like a great line to start a bar fight with.

    Try the original bottling - 12 years old (48%) - a great whisky!

    The Cookie Monster is not problematic unless you have cookies in your pocket.

      In your pocket? Now we know why Rachel was so wary of him. "Can you show us on this Oscar the Grouch doll where the Cookie Monster touched you?"

      I guess its just a matter of personal taste, its not a bad whisky, just not my cup of tea. We can't like them all!

    I enjoy Islay scotch. Although some are overpowering Smokey. Which ones do you two like the best??

    • @TheGrailTastings
      @TheGrailTastings  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Omg so hard to choose!! Have you tried any unpeated Bunnahabhain or Bruichladdich for something less smoky to try? Or unpeated Caol Ila (although this one is harder to come by!)? It's too hard for us to choose a fav but those are some of our loved unpeated Islays 😋

    Oof, Jen is making the same face my wife makes when she tries Spirits of French Lick whiskey.
    The grain forward mustiness and barrel char is her "days old red wine with cigarettes floating in it" combination.

      @thealembicdiary1814 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Spirits of French Lick is a small distillery. I can’t get it where I’m at.

    • @pablov9212

      @@thealembicdiary1814 worth seeking out for whisky nerds, in my opinion. I like their bottlings as they tend to be very grain forward.
      The oat whiskey and high malt bourbon are my favorite, but they even use exotic grains like toasted buckwheat (kesha).

      @@thealembicdiary1814 if you haven't already, also look into the Leopold Brothers in Colorado. Grain is present similar to SoFL, but I would say a bit cleaner and prominent on the palate in their 5 year old bottled-in-bond.
      This is likely owing to their Scottish style malting floor and dunnage warehouse. Beautiful facility.

    If someone doesn't put Jen's cookie monster impression in a 30 second loop, this isn't the internet.
    Not sure what orrugahno is but it sounds like a cross between a US state, the art of paper folding and the.uh, completion of a, um, "certain act".
