I get that, but 1/4096 brings the challenge inline with newer games and they can spend less much less time (Presumably half the time) to get content especially during a channel pivot
Who cares? This whole challenge is so dumb. Obviously you can do it. There are no level caps, items are allowed, switch mode, literally no battle related restrictions at all. The only “challenge” is finding the shiny. He doesn’t even show how long it took, nor how many encounters it took. This video might as well be called “I found 6 shinies”. So cool. Lmfao
I'm doing the same and it took me 55k attempts for the starter alone. i was surprised you beated all the game with only 40k but i now know why. i get why you did change the shiny odds, but i want to have them on an original cartridge
Guys can u all stop hating on him? He is just trying to play for fun. doing an only shiny challenge is hard. He still tried it for us. Stop hating on him? Pin me so everone sees this
I am casually trying this in pokemon heartgold, it is such a fun pain in the ass to do and I love how you get shiny's you would normally maybe not hunt. Love the video and keep it up!
Thank you for the support! I can’t wait to do this on heart gold and soul silver but I’m still currently stuck on my second attempt at this with charmander as my initial starter!
I remember the older games my first shiny was the first sandshew I ran into i was confused why it was a different color. Didn't know was 1 and 8000 till later after showing my friends
When I was like 9 or 10 I started a new game on my fire red for fun wasn't planning to save or anything and the first pokemon I encountered after getting pokeballs was a shiny pidgey. Im 27 now and still have that same pidgey fully evolved on my pokemon platinum
Pfff nah dude I was stoked when I saw the title because I just challenged myself the same thing specifically because its full odds :/ lowering the odds why don't you just do this in a new game
Also it kinda surprises me that you took way longer to find a shiny like literal months per shiny even after you lowered the odds Thats crazy fr @@Obscvrityy
Not to hate, but looking at your movesets, I can tell you aren't very good at the game. Your team was fine, it could've easily stomped every battle. You just have bad moves for the pokemon (Snorlax is not a special attacker, jolteon is not a physical attacker, hydro cannon sucks, etc) and you make poor choices (use shock wave again on jolteon instead of quick attack to finish when you get outsped)... also, speaking of Shockwave, it's perfectly accurate but not very strong, thunderbolt would have been much better.
@Obscvrityy Just look at the stats the game shows and teach moves that work well with the stats. Physical and special are determined by the type of the move in gen 3, except for XD Gale of Darkness, so that's a good baseline. It's also important to note that you deal 1.5x the damage for using the same type attack and 2x the damage for super effective (4x if it's something like grass/bug getting hit by fire or flying) and that attacks with the same type attack boost for 3x (or 6x) damage. You don't need to know much about each pokemon, but think about the pokemon you will be facing and the moves you need to counter them, look at the members of your team and figure out which one is best suited for the move. For example, Blastoise with ice beam, surf, substitute, rest (or bite and holding Leftovers) would have been able to more or less solo the elite 4. Surf could easily wipe out Bruno and Agatha (couple with substitute to avoid poisoning and confusion, help soak damage), ice beam will stomp lance (surf for Aerodactyl), and the final rival battle could be done with ice beam on Pidgeot and Venusaur, surf on Rhydon and arcanine, and Alakazam could be handled by any physical attacker as it has a very low defense stat (this means if you had move Tutor body slam, you could kill it easily with that).
I mean you kinda lost me when you changed the shiny odds - not to hate but other creators have done the same challenge without doing so.
I get that, but 1/4096 brings the challenge inline with newer games and they can spend less much less time (Presumably half the time) to get content especially during a channel pivot
1/4096 still isnt good odds
Other creators will also lie to you and tell you that they’re at full odds while altering the odds behind the scenes.
