He looks almost EXACTLY like "Rock", a dog we had when my children were young. A vet I'd worked for knew I had 14 acres out in the country & asked if I'd adopt this "adorable little puppy who loves children". Imagine my surprise when he showed up with a 50 pound PUPPY!! Rock was a Great Dane-St Bernard mix & was one of the best dogs I ever had. Unfortunately, his size scared people, and he wandered off one day onto the hunting plantation down the road. (It was the only time he ever left our land). He scared some hunters & they shot him. They were pretty torn up about it, but me & the kids were devastated. He was 6-far too young, but yes, he also had some health problems & had been scheduled for hip surgery when he was shot. I have a picture of him & our overly, extremely LARGE (but not overweight) affectionate "barn cat", (we had horses), cuddled up to each other, both of them snoring... ;)

You're correct. Eukanuba uses a preservative used in making tires. When it comes to large dogs like Great Danes 8 yrs to 10 yrs is a good life span. I've had a Dane live to 13yrs but our vet told me he'd never seen 1 live past 11yrs in 20+yrs practice. Lg breed pups need a lower level of protein in their diet most commercial food are too high. The above food is way too high in protein for lg breeds. An 8 wk old dane pup is approx 30lb & will be 5x that by a yr old. Use caution in feeding.
Actually Leo's live even less than that usually their life span is 6 to 8 years which is terrible. But sometimes you're lucky we had ours for 14 I'm sure he was alive for 14 years I should say we had him for like 11 he was around for 14 years. And in fact I think you would have pushed through even longer have my mom not gotten sick because once my mom got sick I think he really declined very fast. Because he just I think was fighting it until my mom was gone and then once she was gone in the hospital and she passed away not long after about a year almost exactly after so they're together now anyway I think once she started getting sick he really just was done fighting. Which is so sad cuz we didn't see it coming until she went in the hospital one day and I'd say within three days after she went in the hospital he was obviously going. He held on until she got out but barely. It's so sad because within a year-and-a-half we lost for dogs and my mom. So it's been hard. But honestly they're the best dogs. The other dogs were all mutts so I'm not dissing them they were great dogs we had a bunch of great dogs. She had to I had to and we share custody of our dogs so her to come to my house and hang out with my two and my to her house and they'd stay for like a week at a time each and they were just in love with each other they were a giant pack together and then separate they were like little packs it was cute. But it was definitely sure who the leader of that pack was and that was fair and when we lost him it really through a wrench through everybody.

He looks almost EXACTLY like "Rock", a dog we had when my children were young. A vet I'd worked for knew I had 14 acres out in the country & asked if I'd adopt this "adorable little puppy who loves children". Imagine my surprise when he showed up with a 50 pound PUPPY!! Rock was a Great Dane-St Bernard mix & was one of the best dogs I ever had. Unfortunately, his size scared people, and he wandered off one day onto the hunting plantation down the road. (It was the only time he ever left our land). He scared some hunters & they shot him. They were pretty torn up about it, but me & the kids were devastated. He was 6-far too young, but yes, he also had some health problems & had been scheduled for hip surgery when he was shot. I have a picture of him & our overly, extremely LARGE (but not overweight) affectionate "barn cat", (we had horses), cuddled up to each other, both of them snoring... ;)

You're correct. Eukanuba uses a preservative used in making tires. When it comes to large dogs like Great Danes 8 yrs to 10 yrs is a good life span. I've had a Dane live to 13yrs but our vet told me he'd never seen 1 live past 11yrs in 20+yrs practice. Lg breed pups need a lower level of protein in their diet most commercial food are too high. The above food is way too high in protein for lg breeds. An 8 wk old dane pup is approx 30lb & will be 5x that by a yr old. Use caution in feeding.
Actually Leo's live even less than that usually their life span is 6 to 8 years which is terrible. But sometimes you're lucky we had ours for 14 I'm sure he was alive for 14 years I should say we had him for like 11 he was around for 14 years. And in fact I think you would have pushed through even longer have my mom not gotten sick because once my mom got sick I think he really declined very fast. Because he just I think was fighting it until my mom was gone and then once she was gone in the hospital and she passed away not long after about a year almost exactly after so they're together now anyway I think once she started getting sick he really just was done fighting. Which is so sad cuz we didn't see it coming until she went in the hospital one day and I'd say within three days after she went in the hospital he was obviously going. He held on until she got out but barely. It's so sad because within a year-and-a-half we lost for dogs and my mom. So it's been hard. But honestly they're the best dogs. The other dogs were all mutts so I'm not dissing them they were great dogs we had a bunch of great dogs. She had to I had to and we share custody of our dogs so her to come to my house and hang out with my two and my to her house and they'd stay for like a week at a time each and they were just in love with each other they were a giant pack together and then separate they were like little packs it was cute. But it was definitely sure who the leader of that pack was and that was fair and when we lost him it really through a wrench through everybody.
