Okay, well, first of all I have to correct you on Molly's real name. It was Brittany MURPHY. Morgan was her character's last name. As to what you said, I didn't catch this show when it first aired myself (either version). I have caught this show on here and I feel that especially with the first season, I made a big mistake not catching it in 1991, although I was going through my own personal things that fall that I won't go into on here. The first season I think was better, because it shows a small town life and a family trying to handle issues involving payments and making ends meet. There were some funny moments with that Kirby character being the Steve Urkel of the show by trying to get close to Dorothy Jane and sad moments with the dad coming and going and Dorothy Jane's love for Reilly, who was too old for her. NBC didn't give this show a proper chance at the time, although it was after Golden Girls. They needed to let the show find its audience and they didn't let that happen. It got changed to Almost Home, which sort of changed the show to a clash of family values. It wasn't bad and had some funny moments, the best being the scenes between Dorothy Jane and Molly. But it wasn't the same show as the first one. Also, I didn't really care about a romance developing between Mr. Morgan and Millicent. That was Who's the Boss? all over again, and that drove me crazy over the years. I am glad that people did catch it when it aired on Disney and on here too. Sometimes networks don't know what they have and concentrate too much on ratings rather than quality.
I would have loved to see a continuation of either season. But it's hard to know where they could have gone. I would hope Dorothy Jane and Kirby ended up together. You're right about Mr. Morgan and Millicent. It felt too predictable. Thanks for watching the video and leaving comments. I appreciate it
Steven Floyd missing his dad and being angry about him leaving plus Ruth-Ann's reaction to Millicent dating furthers my theory of why those two disappeared in "Almost Home", aka that they went to live with their father instead.
I would love that. And I feel with how television is today, they could humorously address how Millicent lost two children in between The Torklesons and Almost Home
@@ralpheichenlaub7004 I think what happened was there were going to be 5 kids in the new version, but since 2 of the kids were now going to be Brian Morgan's, they had to get rid of 2 of Millicent's kids. I guess the two that were dropped were sort of put into Brian's kids with similar personalities. The relationship Dorothy Jane has with Mollie is similar to her relationship with Ruth Ann, only they are closer in age.
That might be my first request. I will definitely consider it. Loved that show. In the near future I want to do a show on the show Second Chance/Boys Will Be Boys
@@ralpheichenlaub7004 There is a youtube channel on here that shows Just the Ten of Us called Retrofat. It's pretty good. And the episodes have not been cut down for syndication.
I could never get into The Torkelson's. Looking back, I'm not sure if it was because the show was a bit old fashioned or just the premise of them being poor dragged the vibe down. Had it had some lol moments to balance out the idea they could lose their house would've helped. but I loved when it was repackaged as Almost Home. I wish it could've lasted a bit longer. And while he'll always Minkus. Let's not forget he was also Mouth on One Tree Hill. Finally...RIP Brittany Murphy
Yeah, it happens. That's very understandable. I wouldn't have been able to tell you that her character's last name was Morgan. Today I also watched your videos on Just the Ten of Us, Saved by the Bell: The College Years and The Golden Palace. Well done on all of them. 🙂
Thank you so much for watching. I love revisiting old tv shows, especially short lived series. I just finished one on second chance/boys will be boys with Matthew Perry.

To this day I still wonder how ever did Ruth Ann come up with the means to pay for making all those copies?
Hahaha. Knowing Ruth Ann she probably found some way to use the school copy machine when teachers weren't looking.
I remember the Torkelsons. It was a cool show, and a great idea. Sorry there aren't more seasons...good job...ty for posting.
Thank you for watching :)
I loved this show

Definitely plausible.
This was my favorite show Disney love this show really hope it makes a come back

Same here. For both shows
Wish there was a revamp of this series
Hmmmm I'd watch but not sure if it would have the magic
Have you done Just the Ten of Us?????

I plan to do just the ten of us at some point soon. Haven't made a video in awhile. But I have a "top 10 sad sitcom episodes" coming soon
I have now

It's Brittany Murphy, not Brittany Morgan.
I appreciate you watching. Happy New Year
You too! Thanks for the video. I remember watching both The Torkelsons and Almost Home during their original runs and I enjoyed your take on them.
I sincerely appreciate your kind words. I kick myself for mixing up Brittany's character last name with her real last name. But these things happen.
